i may be wrong, but is this the first Caster axe. only pallies/shamans could use this. probably more mean looking then a mace to :P

So far the best non-crafted, one-handed weapon with spell power bonus in wowhead WOTLK database (and maybe the first axe ever as stated above). Great choice for hybrid enh/ele shams. It is not unique, but as a quest reward, you can have only one :_( Paladins can use it too, but I think there will be better main-hand weapons for them. I hope they will put better weapons of this kind in wotlk and won't be changing them to main-handed again...

I dunno about the rest of you but to me this screams enhancement shaman.

2.60 speed to max the MH WF procs (though it is possible the WF cooldown is being removed), crit, AP from the intellect (through talents), spell damage (boosting your possible off-hand flame tongue and all of your Maelstorm-cast spells, lava lash), and good top-end damage for storm strikes.

...though its a level 80 group quest, so the possibility of having better than this by then are pretty fair.

So maybe its not such an amazing choice. Oh, well.

There should really be an epic version of this. Druids and Shammies got Wraith Strike, why can't pallies and shammies get a healing axe?

sadly according to wowhead's filtering abilities, this is the only caster axe in game :(
