This glyph is a double edged sword.

I see three possible outcome to this:

1: you use it for dps purpose with an uncontroled ennemy: Ennemy run away, the buff need to be canceled.
2: you use it before an ennemy cast a CC on you and cancel the effect after (with a macro most likely)
3: you use it on a controled ennemy: Uninterrupted DPS for a while, and after being controled he might even try to cast somethign on you (warlock death coil, rogue blind, warrior fear, etc...) resulting in more control over your target and his waste of a cooldown.

Here is a very good example of what to do with this glyph: You use it near a flag and noone can cap it without killing you.

I see this glyph have more use in pvp than pve, but still possibly usefull (think king ymiron).

In all, i won't advice to use this glyph without the usefull macro that go with it which is :

It will cast the buff on first button push, and cancel it on second button push. The macro is very simple, if you wants to add more to it, feel free.

Unlike many other 'immunity' effects (such as WotF, Stoneform back then in BC), this one can not be used when you are already under an effect that causes loss of control of your character - and therefore pretty useless, unless you pop your PoF preemptively.

Considering how much I have to move in PvE fights, this is pointless for PvE. Considering how often I have to move in PvP fights, this is pointless for PvP. Considering how useful the unglyphed version of PoF is compared to how useful the glyphed version is, don't waste your gold.

I could see this glyph being useful situationally in PvE, since glyphs can be easily swapped between encounters if you don't mind dropping gold on glyph dust. One example that springs to mind is Halfus Wyrmbreaker, with his predictable AoE multi-stun. Popping Pillar just before he performs his Furious Roar with this glyph could mean being able to DPS through the three stun pulses. Sure, this glyph might not be useful on 90% of encounters, and it might cause unexpected complications in some encounters where it could be useful, but nevertheless I doubt it should be dismissed as useless.

How often are you going to want to freeze yourself in place to be able to free effects that cause loss of control?

Is the root considered a true freeze? If so, this would pretty much turn you into a free HK for a frost mage.
