Great glyph. Taunt/Growl/Righteous Defence etc all scale with +Hit now (was previously only Physical +hit), and the miss chance for all bosses at 73 (skull bosses) is 8%.

This basically ensures that at 80, your Dark commmand will never miss or be resisted.

Is this really worth a major glyph spot? Theoretically, if you're tanking well enough, you shouldn't even be using Dark Command (for mobs without special threat rules and abilities, at least.)

This is not worth a major glyph slot. It doesn't resist often enough to sacrifice the other good bits to boost threat/survivability.

Assuming that Dark Command does work off of spell hit, it shouldn't be a problem. I am a DK tank with Naxx 10 gear and I am almost spell hit capped as it is as long as there is a spriest or boomkin in the group and I am specced into Virulance. Why in the world would you boost the hit of one flat ability when you could just put hit in enough hit to take misses off the board for good in current content and call it a day with a better glyph. Glyph of Death and Decay adds a nice chunk of damage to DnD, and being our high threat multiplier AoE move its really nice. You should probably be using Glyph of Bone Shield/Unbreakable Armor (Unholy/Frost for most general main tanking) along with it. That all being said, this glyph is a big waste, unless by chance Dark Command takes more hit than normal spells. Very nice early on, however if you play your cards right you can hit spell cap before you even touch 25 man content....

Reason I don't equip this glyph is:

Yes it appeared handy to me in fights like Gormok and Saurfang where if your taunt resists you're(meaning the raid is) in serious trouble.
But say you are like most tanks I know and you're not even melee hitcapped, most come close to about 7% to simplify things, so you still need 10% to be capped for spells. Now there is a 1/10 chance you will miss your taunt which seems like a lot but unless you are a crap tank you shouldn't be taunting that much except in tankswitching fights, the thing is you still have Deathgrip for a taunt whenever Dark Command misses which I hope most tanks notice right away. Deathgrip has also a 1/10 chance to miss, so you will only miss both 1/100. If you're ally Heroic Presence pushes this further down and of course if you're higher on hit(which I hope most 25man tanks are), it will too.
In a year of raiding it has happened I think 4/5 times to me that both resisted on a real !@#$ty moment and at 2 of those times resulted in wipes because of just that. I'll take the blame, I will not take the glyph.

Since taunts can no longer miss in Patch 4.0.1, the Glyph of Dark Command has been removed and replaced with a Charred Glyph (vendor trash grey).
