These seem to have a very low drop rate. I killed dozens of vrykul before getting my first amulet.

Interestingly enough, that first amulet dropped off Risen Vrykul Ancestor - an undead skeletal vrykul at Shield Hill.

Risen Vrykul Ancestors drop them in Howling Fjord (Sheild Hill)

However I haven't seen any drop from any actual Vrykul's that don't have the word Vrykul in their name.

Perhaps that is a bug, or perhaps I'm just getting terrible luck and looting those other guys.

This is a quest item needed for the Jewelcrafting daily "Shipment: Blood Jade Amulet" - https://www.wowhead.com/cata/quest=12958. It appears to drop off of Vrykul of any level, as long as you have the quest.

The closest Vrykul from Dalaran where you'd pick up this quest should be the Sifreldar Runekeeper and Sifreldar Maidens around 40,73 in Storm Peaks.

fastest way from dalaran imo:

fly towards 1 o'clock aiming for Valkyrion, Storm Peaks. mobs called Valkyrion Aspirants drop them, level 78-80

below level 77 fly to Light's Breach, Zul'Drak, then head northwest to Thrym's End where the Vargul creatures (around level 76) drop them

at level 70, if it's an alt you are not levelling, due west of Warsong Hold at Garrosh's Landing the Kvaldir (around level 69) drop

if you are going to go for the epic fishing pole at some point on your 70, but don't want to level them up as fast, the mobs at Kaskala drop the amulet, which is where you get one of the Kalu'ak dailies. means a nice head start on levelling

If you are running the Dalaran Cooking Dailies, you can get this amulet along the way to save time.

While getting the Kaskala Supplies in Kaskala, simply kill a few of the K'valdir Raiders that are around the supplies. This amulet usually drops after about two or three very easy kills.

This is the most efficient way to get this amulet imo

Don't be confused by the low droprate by, say, Sifreldar vrykuls - the droprate is roughly the same indeed and the amulet often drops within the first 6-7 kills. The low droprate on wowhead is explained by poor vrykuls being slaughtered by other players for other quests.

Anyone else find it odd that they don't drop in Utgarde Keep, which is pretty much nothing but vrykul?

If you are like me, and power leveling this profession past what it's levels were intended for, you could be finding it hard to kill something about 5-10 levels higher than you.

So for this, I would suggest going down to Borean Tundra and pick up the daily quest, which gives 5g, 20k exp, and 250 rep with The Kalu'ak. Once you have that, start mowing down Kvaldir Raiders and picking up Kaskala Supplies as you go along. By the time you have finished the daily, you should now have your Vrykul Amulet. If not, just keep mowing down the raiders that come off the boats till you do.

With this you just did a 2 for 1 at a rather lower level.

Just go to 40,73 in Storm Peaks, I get it on the first mob every time.
