This item currently has the highest amount of Spirit on any weapon and/or 1H + Off-Hand combination in the game.

It will make an excellent Innervate weapon for any class.

This+45 spirit enchant = Best blue statstick I have ever seen, and it is unlikely youll ever find a better regen weapon till uldar or better (which of course means nothing at the moment)

While Malygos' Favor is certainly an excellent mana regen weapon (especially for a blue), there are better epic ones currently available (other than Golden Staff of the Sin'dorei). Keep in mind that Intelligence now also affects Spirit-based mana regeneration.

I have personally verified that the formula posted at http://www.wowwiki.com/Mana_regeneration is correct for my 80 druid wearing various gear outfits (except for the rounding rule, which I found to be normal rounding versus rounding up):

MP5 = 5 * (0.001 + sqrt(Int) * Spirit * Base_Regen), where Base_Regen = 0.005575 at level 80.

Spirit is still the more important mana regen stat due to Int being square-rooted, but you need to look at both. If you do, you'll find that Staff of Restraint from Sartharion and Sulfer Stave from Loatheb are better. Of the two, it's difficult to say which is "best" since it depends on your current levels of Int and Spi. In broad terms, if you have lower Spi (typical for dps), the relative importance of additional Spi is increased, making Sulfer Stave slightly better. If you have higher Spi (typical for healers), the relative importance of additional Spi is diminished, making Staff of Restraint slightly better. The difference between the two is nominal though, so you really can't go wrong with either one. And if you don't have either, Malygos' Favor is very nearly as good and much easier to obtain.

If you are gearing up for Heroics, this is one of the best Pre-Heroic/Nax staffs that you can get for anyone looking for a good boost in mana regen.

Also, with this only being a required level of 78 to use you should have plenty of time to instance for it and be ready for 10 mans when you ding 80.
