Best PVP gem overall for a blue socket assuming you already have enough of a health buffer. Solid Stars of Elune are probably better for less-geared PVPers. By the same token, these are worth using over Mystic Dawnstones in yellow sockets until your health is up to a comfortable level.

A new recipe for Steady Talasite is now available from the Halaa vendors, at the cost of research tokens. This superior green gem grants resilience and stamina.

The design for this gem can be purchased from the Halaa Quartermaster at the cost of 4 Halaa Research Tokens, obtainable by handing in a total of 80 Oshu'gun Crystal Powder Samples (https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=26042) to Chief Researcher Kartos (https://www.wowhead.com/cata/npc=18817) in Halaa when your faction has control of Halaa.

if i use "Mystical Skyfire Diamond" and i only use Steady Talasite does it work ? or depends on in what socket i use ? like i put it in a blue socket , it counts as a blue gem. and if u put it in a yellow socket it counts as a yellow one ?

If you are sick of being a blood squirt on the Arena floor, I'd suggest stacking these babies up, All over in your gear.

According to the items wich you get from honor, you can see, that they reqire yellow gems. Now if you want the socket bonus ( wich is a very-very nice plus ) you should only put this gem in them :-)

Solid Star of Elune gives 12stam
Mystic Dawnstone gives 8 resi
This one gives 6stam 4 resi --> 2xSteady Talasite = 1xSolid Star of Elune+1xMystic Dawnstone and you don't loose anything :-)

Possibly the cheapest way to level Jewelcrafting beyond 350. Took me (as a draenei, +5 JC) 38 gems to get to 375, equalling (max 8g each at AH) 304 gold spent, The last levels are a pain (took me up to 7 gems per skill up if I recall correctly) so you might wanna change at 370.

It would take more for non-draenei (I think), according to Wowhead there is no "Orange" level range on most gems, but I only cut gems from 300 onward whilst levelling and saw quite a few orange ranges.

Having said that, I assume it doesn't take any skill whatsoever to craft the gems, but rather to learn them you need to have the skill. I was getting guaranteed skill-ups at 350, yellow at 355 (maybe 360, I forget) but they should (and probably are, to non-draenei) have been yellow from 350.

Overall, good gem to skill-up and sells for about the same (maybe a little less/more) than what you bought the uncut gem for (but supply might become a problem)

Design requires no reputation status like most at that level, but to purchase them you'll need four (4) Halaa Research Tokens, which you can get by trading in 80 Oshu'gun Crystal Powder (20 *4) when your side (alliance/horde) control Halaa. You can get the powder from all?/most monsters in Nagrand

as a warlock i use 2 of these in my chest and a 12 spell dmg gem. cheaper than using an 8 resi gem and a 12 stam gem for the same result also you dont drop the 4 resi socket bonus by changing a yellow slot for a blue gem

Notice how the price to sell to the vendor (3g) is higher than the average AH buyout price (2g). If you're looking for an easy way to make a few extra gold, you can buy these off of AH for the 2g price and sell them to a vendor, cutting a 1g profit.

Just replaced Solid Star of Elune as Non-Meta PVP Gem of the Year.

Also it seems to be going Cheaper on my server.

Solid Elune: 45G
Steady Talasite: 11G

And soon I'm Transferring to re-join old guildies, so I just stocked up on these and am gonna make one hell of a profit when I get there, as I hear they sell for 30G+

they sell for cheap around 12g because talasites are not expensive and it easy to make
