i hear stuff like this'll be able to be used for pvp gear in 2.4. anyone know if this is confirmed?

All tier 5 tokens such as this one can be exchanged for the appropriate tier piece at the following vendors: Kelara (a female Drenaei) who is located in the right room of the building at the back of the Aldor rise in Shattrath. Or Veynna Dawnstar (a female Blood Elf) who is located in the lower part of the main building in the back of the Scryer's tier, she is to the left of the roped off bookshelves in the middle of the room.

If you have done the introduction to Shattrath quest (City of Light) and have chosen to accept and deny the membership to either the Aldor or Scryers you may only visit the vendor corresponding to the faction you have chosen to ally with. If you have not done the quest you may visit which ever vendor you prefer.

The current Drop Locations are as Follows

Tempest Keep Raid
Serpentshrine Cavern Raid
Battle for Mount Hyjal Raid

2 in TK Kael'Thas and another
2 in SSC Lady Vashj and Another
1 in Hyjal

Tier 6 will be dropping in Black Temple and most likely will be tokened as well with the Ashtongue Deathsworn Rep needed. Think a new Zul'Garab/Naxxramas Loot system. Only speculation at this point.

Having followed the kills and drops from the leading guilds of the world, I'd like to say:

T5 Head - Lady Vashj (Serpentshrine Cavern)
T5 Shoulders - Void Reaver (The Eye)
T5 Hands - Leotheras the Blind (Serpentshrine Cavern)
T5 Chest - Kael'Thas (The Eye)
T5 Legs - Fathom-Lord Karathress (Serpentshrine Cavern)

Now I haven't seen proof yet of Kael'thas dropping the chest, but really he's the final Boss of one of the instances from which these drop, and only the chest hasn't been seen, afaik. I'm going to say the odds could be pretty good that he'll drop them.

Of course should the chest actually drop in Mount Hyjal, well...

These items drop from end-game instances, the 25 man raids. There are a total of 3 different kinds of sets, for each tier. Which I'll sum up here.

For every class Tier 4 is from 'fallen' Teir 5 is from 'Vanquished'
(i.e. leggings of the fallen hero = Tier 4 leggings, leggings of the vanquished defender = Tier 5 leggings)

Mage / Warlock / Hunter = The 'Hero' sets

Paladin / Rogue / Shaman - The 'Champion' sets

Warrior / Priest / Druid - The 'Defender' sets

In Beta you could expect the Tier 4 ('Fallen') pieces to drop in 'Serpenshrine Cavern' and 'The Eye', Records show that they could also drop from lower areas, such as Magtheridon's Lair, Gruul's Lair, and Karazhan (only a 10 man).

Tier 5 drops mainly from 'Battle for Mount Hyjal' and 'Black Temple'.

When you get one of these pieces, you go to the faction you are allied with in Shattrath (Terrokar Forest), either the Aldor or the Scyers. There you can turn in the piece to obtain the Tier 4/5 armor for your class.
