Scale of the Sands (hyjal) reputation has a set of epic rings similar to The Violet Eye (Karazhan) and AQ40 ring sets. I am not positive if these rings also increase with reputation, but I would bet on it.

Love it! Infact i love all items which has somekind of relation to lore. "Garona´s signet ring" for example... i´m a little rp nerd so like being decked out in gear that "famous" people have worn ^^

tested speaking with Sylvanas in Undercity on the PTR with this equiped, no reaction.

too bad, being part of the Forsaken, I'd hoped for something, at least a "eyh, that's my ring, but you deserve it" :(

Note that the flavor-text spells it "Sylvannas" instead of Sylvanas.

Confirmed that the spelling of Sylvanas on this item is incorrect. Both Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne use the "Sylvanas" spelling consistently. "Sylvannas" never appears.

I can only speculate about this ring but from what I know I can guess that Kael'thas has gained this ring from Sylvanas' body when he was leaving the ruins of Quel'Thalas, destroyed by Death Knight Arthas and his Scourge. It was also Arthas who "killed" Lady Sylvanas and ripped her soul out to turn her into a banshee. Later though she has returned to her body becoming a Dark Ranger. She was not a Ranger-General anymore and the loss of the ring symbolises it as well, I suppose.
My guess is that Kael has found her body on his way out of Quel'Thalas roughly at the same time when he has salvaged his father's skull to take it with himself to the Tempest Keep in Outland.

But why did he do that? I haven't found any remarks about relations of Sylvanas and Keal'thas but who knows how much of a story does Blizzard have for us to tell?

It's also feasible she wasn't wearing it at the time of her death, and it was retrieved from wherever she kept it when Kael'thas's blood elves evacuated what was left of Quel'thelas.

Actually, according to lore, Kael was in love with Jaina, but lost out to Arthas, though they never were bitter to each other about this. The reason for this is that soon after, Jaina and Arthas broke off so Jaina could focus on her studies.

Perhaps it was an exchange. I can imagine that when Sylvanas was found as the best archer of azeroth, that she got the bow, in exchange for the ring. Really, what does a king need such a bow for? Obviously the bow is used to fight with, since the bow is enchanted to get ammunition on fire without using methods that could make it less effiecient. Such a bow can't be used for hunting, since it would burn the corpse along with as well a part of the enviroment, I reckon.

muhaha, got another version. Arthas took this ring from Sylvanas after she turned into banshee, than lost it during the fight with Illidan, When Vashj and Kael helped Illidan to escape, sniky Kael saw the ring and hid it under his long robes. He never put it on cuz every1 can find out about this accident. When u kill Kael, he falls down and the ring just drops from the pocket.....
But actually that would be interesting to know the thrue story about this ring. Maybe Kael knew Sylvanas much better than we know....

well on the PTR it DID come with the hunter box... >.>, although it also came in the rogue box, pretty much... if you dual wield or shoot arrows at things.... you want this.

Because, it's not very common to be having a fury/arms spec warrior in top end instances. Chances are, that warrior is going to be prot specced, therefore, this is not going to be an ideal piece of gear for them.

1) dual wields have the highest miss chance
2) high end rouges come higher than fury warriors in dps (good ones anyway)
3) unlike fury warriors, dont have AP, so could use stam more (ok not a great one, all need stamina)

I agree with the priorities of Fury warrior and rogues getting this over a feral druid but this is still a great ring regardless and would benefit a feral druid greatly.

I just got this (i'm a rogue) from Kael'thas Sunstrider in TK. It's the best pre-Black Temple Melee DPS ring, I'm pretty sure.

Only reason I'd say it would be hunter loot is the name. Bad reason, yes.

Therefore, this is a very good ring for about half of the classes in this game. Good Ring overall.

Haha if your fury warriors are on a par with your rogues then the rogues should get kicked for slacking, this ring is equaly important for a variety of classes and whoever has the most dkp to spend will most likely get it first. Very nice ring but i wont go spending all my dkp on it.
