i wonder if the value of the gems is related to if you have done anything to improve consortium rep that month.

he clearly mentioned to me last month that he slipped something extra in and i got 2 blue gems.

this month i dont believe he mentioned that and i got 4 greens.

last month i had gained about 3k rep with consortium (halfway through revered)

I didn't read the text either but I did do a lot of consortium rep lately and I got 3 blue and 2 green gems

Much like any drop from any mob, it has little to no difference on if you just went from 0 to revered or are picking up your "pay". Just random chance. Just check the "contains" tab.

This month I got 1 dawnstone and a couple greens on my pally (already revered) and a bunch of greens on my hunter(who just hit revered the day before).

LOL I was really disappointed last time I picked this up, 3 Shadow Draenites, my druid that just hit friendly got a blue.

This month I got three blues from the revered bag. I probably won't do that next month even at exalted.

I'm wondering if you can stock up this bags and open them all, once you reach exalted. This should be possible since they are non-unique and other investigations showed that container-loot is generated on the first opening.

Best strategy would be to get your bug at the end of the month until you hit exalted. That way you have time to farm rep and maybe advance in rep status before the end of the month. If that happens you can get a better reward than getting the bug at the start of the month.

If you've been getting horrid luck like I have (5 months at revered and no blues), the percentages aren't that off that this would happen.

Your chances at getting a blue are:
(1-0.13) * (1-0.13) * (1-0.12) * (1-0.12) * (1-0.11) * (1-0.11) = 0.4643
(1 - 0.4643) = 0.5357 = 53.57% chance per month of getting 1 rare gem.

In my case, thats:
0.4643^5 = 0.02157 = 2.157% chance of NOT getting any rare gems over 5 months.

(The reason I subtracted those decimals from 1 is to calculate the chance of NOT getting a certain gem, so you have (1-.13) a 87% chance of NOT getting a Living Ruby/Nightseye each month, multiply each of chances of not getting one of the six blue gems by each other to find the chance to not get any of them. (Thats the 46.43%) Then subtract from 1 to find the chance of getting one of the rare gems.)

Actualy got 3 Noble Topaz's out of this one and 2 Golden Draenite at the same time.

Stunned me for a second (in real life), seeing I tend to get near to nothing out of em.

I think this is your monthly payment from the Consortium when you become Exalted with them.

Not just at exalted, I believe you can start getting these payments at friendly, and the gems improve as your reputation increases.

I got my first bag of gems well over a month ago, pushing close to 2 months. And I haven't been able to get more of them since. Aren't you suppose to be able to get a monthly payment or did I read that wrong?

Anyone know if it's still bugged after the last patch? I didn't see anything in the patch notes.

After the patch I was able to get my gems again, after a couple of months waiting for Blizz to fix it.

You get this when you are Revered with the Consortium and you do the Membership Benefits quest in Nagrand. You can do the quest once a month and each month it becomes available on the 1st of the month.

Not bad, this is my first gems the consortium has given me, and I got a Star of Elune, a Talasite, a Flame Spessarite, and a Deep Peridot.

Nice little reward for working on rep I needed for my Elemental Seaforium Charge.

Just a quick question. I understand that you can get these once a month but I am confused about when exactly you can get them? Can you only get them exactly 1 month after you picked up the last one or can you get them on the first of the month or another date? Just curious on when the respawn on these are. Thanks

Confirmed, quest resets at the beginning of the month... although i wonder if you get revered during a month you already got your honored reward, would you then get the new quest for your revered reward without the month switching.

I ground 12000 rep to get to revered in 48 hours and all i got was 2 draenite, 1 azure moonstone, and 1 of that crappy green one. It would make a good t-shirt.

I am revered and for the second time in a row i got 5 green gems and not a single blue. If you're planning on farming rep to get this, my advice would be: don't. It's a complete waaste of time.
