The drop rate is very very low and fen striders usually aren't grouped so for this quest u've got to farm them...luckily the respawn rate is good so i found 3 of them near cenarion refugee and farmed them until i've got all 4 fen strider tentacle needed.If u choose to do that too, 2 of them are at the same place - 81/68 and the third is at 82/70.

When searching for the spore bats (Regulars, not plain or greater) you will find many fen striders patrolling in the water. Not a great drop rate, but its doable in 15 mins of only killng them.

Note that they do *not* drop off Marsh walkers or any other thing with the same model but different name. (Just like how the spore bat eyes don't come off young or mature spore bats.)

This also should be 100%... how come you can't loot it's tentacle, when it's all covered by them!

Dunno if it was luck, but when i had the quest, Boglash dropped them every time.

actually i just did it in 3 min, killed 5 Greater Spore Bats up in the northwest corner near the ogre island and the basilisks.

It is a little known fact that Fen Strider tentacles are actually squids.

Honestly, I don't wana know what this guy wants all of these for...

But I'm sure it's not what he says he going to do with them...

strangely not list in the "dropped by" tab, i got all 4 of these off "the Black Stalker", last boss in "The Underbog" which i got as random dungeon whilst on this quest

Underbog is the way to go for this quest. Guaranteed 4 drops on the Black Stalker. Much easier than looking for those striders in Zangarmarsh.

I guess I got lucky because out of an approx. total of Fen Striders that I killed, 4 out of 7 dropped the item.
I honestly had a harder time FINDING the actual mob than getting the quest item off them.

what an awfull drop rate ! spent 1 hour killing to gather the 4 needed !

the best zone is east of the marsh, arround 82,73... good luck !

The droprate for the tentacle's is really bad. At the moment i killed about 15, and only got 1.

get the fen strider tentacles first, the eyes are very easy to get:)

Just kill the sporebats FIRST then the the tripods will drop the tenticles, because i got the eyes first then i got all 4 tenticles after killing 4 guys.

The tenticle drop is the worst - I killed about 12 Fen Striders before I received the first drop. After that, I killed a total of 7 for the other 3 tentacles. Spore bats had a good drop rate, but finding them too a while because they are spread out.
