Difficult to find as an ally on Coilfang - I needed x4 for my flying carpet through tailoring. The quickest way I found was to buy adamantite ore and look for a 325+ JC to prospect. These are an 18% drop from adamantite prospecting (also 18% for fel iron ore but on my server there was more adamantite and it was cheaper) I bought 5 stacks which cost me 150g - and tipped a JC 10g to prospect them. From the 5 stacks I ended up with x7 Golden draenite - I used the 4 i needed and sold the extra 3 for 65G ea on AH. In the end I profited by about 20g - and that does not include the 12+ other gems that I got from prospecting 5 stacks - I threw those in my GV in case someone needs them but I am sure I could have easily made another 250G on the AH. In retrospect - this is not only a great way to get some Golden Draentie, but also a great way to make some extra Gold.

The 18% they list is utter hogwash. I have prospected well over 100 fel iron ores and at least 40 Adamantite ores and in the whole process gotten ONE golden draenite. Try again, Wowhead.

In case you missed the price or the inference from DragonOfCoilfang's comment... these are very valuable compared to the other BC era green gems.

If you are leveling JCing, do not cut these - sell them. You can typically buy about 10 of any other green quality BC gem for the price of one of these (depending on server obviously).

The reason they're so valuable is that they're needed to make a tailor's expert riding level Flying Carpet.

(Yes, you could've worked this out by looking at the price + 'reagent for' tabs, but I'm just spelling it out for clearly for those who didn't look carefully)

I got 2 stacks of adamantite ore and 3 stacks of fel iron ore and had them both prospected and i got exactly four gold draenite :D I guess im a pretty lucky haha!

One thing I have found, on my realm at least, is that the gems prospected from adamantite are worth much more than the ore bought in the AH. I bought 5 stacks, prospected them and got the 4 golden draenites I needed for my tailor plus one extra(which are selling for around 40g on my realm) and a load of other green and blue gems worth over 140g total. If I had not needed the draenites, it could have been much more profitable.

If you are looking for this to craft Flying Carpet, then you might wanna check flying carpet prices too. I was looking for mats for that and that was going to cost me over 600 golds. Then i checked if there was any pre-made flying carpet and there she was on the market for 95 gold.

i feel the pain on these. People on blood furnace are askin a whopping 140g for these bad boys

On most servers they are running between 150 and 250. Most of the mats are running in excess of that. Might consider a buyout from the AH instead unless you want the one tick to your tailoring skill!
