This is an awesomely fun enchant for PVPing.

But, if you have some decent gear, and need something to grind with, I'd suggest duel-wielding two Skullforge Reavers and enchanting them with this. You'll gain so much HP as you attack that you'll have close to NO downtime.

You can get this solo as a rogue by sneaking in and killing the spectral researchers. I did it on my lvl 60 with average gear, and i havent been raiding with him. I used some pots like winterfall firewater and instant poisons.

You can stealth all the way and avoid all the other mobs. Jump down from the bridge at the beginning where the 4 skeletons are. Open the doors and stealth all the way around to the room where the spectral researchers are. Be sure to wait for the patrols. When you finally get to the room, the easiest one to kill is under the stairs. Theres another one patrolling but its harder to kill without aggroing other mobs.

It took me about 10 runs to get the formula. It was worth it.

Although this enchant is fun, it's really not worth the mats. I'd suggest the CRUSADER enchant (https://www.wowhead.com/cata/spell=20034) instead. It heals for 100 (lifestealing is only compbined of 30 + 30 = 60), and it grants 100 strength, which does more than 30 more damage (not per hit, but per proc).

And it's cheaper.

This is a great enchant for any class. Obviously better for some than others. What seemed the most useful to do though is to enchant a my main hand weapon with cruisader, then go for life stealing on the hand.

The lack of down time is great. Pvp action even better.

While crusader may heal you for more and give a strength proc, lifestealing procs CONSTANTLY. I barely go more than 3-4 swings without a lifesteal.

It's really a matter of personal preference. Lifesteal on twink rogues at 29 or 39 is brutal, because it also damages your target.

One of the rarest enchants in game, took me about 160 Scholo runs to get it - and it dropped from the very last ghost that run. One I'd even forget about, unless a friend didn't point out that we didn't kill one under the stairs. Tough luck! :) Basy @ Hellscream EU, Alliance side.

I have found that these only drop off of the LVL 60 Spectral Researchers. I have never gotten the drop off of any other level since I started grinding Scholo, and I have gotten about 10 of them.

I think that the drop rate must have increased recently because I picked up 4 of these in 4 straight runs soloing scholo for gold. I just gave them away to guildies. These shouldn't sell for 400G given the drop rate and the fact that there are much better high level enchants.

really easy to farm and sell on ah for a decent amount. first one sold for 250 and the 2nd for 280 on my server. But i dont recommend farming these constantly since they aren't bought to often (takes me a couple days to sell one).

According to my MobInfo, I have looted 32 of the level 58 Spectral Researchers, 29 of the level 59s, and 35 of the level 60s.

It can be farmed in under 10 minutes by anyone who's at least 65.
(You can farm it at 60 but it might take a bit more work than those who are 65-70).

There was this one guy who farmed 20 of them, he had 20 of these formulas up on the AH - DO NOT BUY, GO FARM (Unless you're not high enough to do so)

What about the dodge and haste factor of +15 agi? I have crusader on a 2h weap, but use either a dagger with agi or a sword with Lifesteal combined with shield.

If I have a healbot I use the 2h thumper with Crusader and do massive dam, but otherwise the shield and either Lifesteal or Sup. Agi. is the way to go by a long shot.

Roughly 2 weeks ago I was easily able to farm this, and would get multiple drops before I'd reach the max number of times I was able to reset for that time frame.

Over the past week though, I have ran it daily..... Reset it the max # of times... and I have not been able to get a SINGLE one to drop.

anyone know if the drop rate has been nerfed, or completely removed from these mobs?
I hope not. These still sell for 80-100g on my server, it was easy gold =(.

Did you people know that Lifestealing is superior to Crusader for Rogues in any case? And that it is a close match to Crusader for the STR=2 AP classes (warrior, shaman, druid, paladin) ?

Acoording to the aforementioned http://rogerkarlsson.com/blogs/wow/lifestealing/ the proc rate of Lifestealing is 4.72 PPM. If the maths are done correctly, you will coem out to something like this:

Crusader: 3.57 DPS (+2 AP class)/ 1.78 DPS (1 AP class) , 1.66 HPS (healing per second)
Lifestealing: 2.36 DPS , 2.36 HPS
15 AGI: 2.14 DPS(+2 AP class) 1.07 DPS (+1 AP class), bit of dodge/crit

So as you see, Lifestealing is superior to 15 AGI in any case except hunters, superior to Crusader for Rogues, and a very good match against Crusader for other classes- depends on whether you want healing (LS) or damage (CR).

People seem to think Crusader is something heavenly. It's just some added damage and healing- not all that much!

The Roger Karlsson blog says 4.722 PPM, but recently I have seen sources state that Lifestealing has the same proc rate as Fiery: 6 PPM! http://www.wowwiki.com/Enchant_Weapon_-_Lifestealing If this is true, Lifestealing would total up to 3 DPS and 3 HPS, making it the best pre-35 weapon enchant when combining DPS and HPS (in which case LS gets 6 DPS+HPS while Crusader only gets 5.238 DPS+HPS).

I would like to add that the purple color of the enchant does not override any current natural glows on your weapon.

I recently was doing a nostalgic Onyxia run and also got my Quel'serrar for fun, and I vaguely remembered seeing someone with a purple (instead of green) Quel'serrar about 2 years ago, so I figured it was lifestealing and I was going to go for it.

I didn't think it would work, and it didn't, but it was worth a shot. So now I have a green glowing sword with lifestealing on it.

it seems that the dagger heals dependant of the dmg it does. so would it heal more if only plus shadow dmg or just plus spell dmg. ?

I am a lvl 64 Rogue. I have Lifestealing on my slow offhand.

It procs very often I think. I have not counted or anything, but guess an average of 2 or 3 times in a battle. Got to have it on mainhand too :D

Lifestealing gives 28 shadow dmg and heals for 33.
I have points in talent "Quick Recovery" ( https://www.wowhead.com/cata/spell=31245 )

I tryed to use wizard oil on both weapons. This gave me bonus 72 spell dmg and healing.
Nothing changed :(

This effect *does not scale* with spell damage/heal equipment. In my healing gear, at L70, it still hits for just 20 damage (it scales down from 30 to 20 damage from L60 to L70).

This recipe was pretty easy to farm on my mage, the guys who drop them are close to the beggining, with 2 70's helping, 1 "run" (killing the guys who drop it than leaving) takes under 20 minutes, so you can easily get your 5 runs in and this should drop.

Just gotta love Scholomance really, been doing about 10 runs now and got myself the Formula after the 6th or 7th run I think, though thought I would go for some more runs to get another one and make some money out of that too! So, after 2 runs of nothing I entered my current run, first pack of mobs with a Spectral Researcher and I got myself Stockade Pauldrons and after 2 more groups I got Mageflame Cloak! ^^ This is ofc just luck but still, gotta love it <3 (got a Pristine Black Diamond earlier aswell:D)

How to solofarm this effectively as a caster (I did it with mage).
Pre-farming: Complete https://www.wowhead.com/cata/quest=5533 quest-serie to be able to enter on your own. If you want to get AD rep items while on it, grab https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=12846 from bank. You won't need any buffs no matter how crappy your gear is as long as you are lvl65+ (doable at 60 but requires many manabreaks -> not effective, I tried couple of times at preTBC 60).

The farm: Enter the instance, pull the mobs on the bridge one-on-one or all-> AoE, this shouldnt be hard. Just get past it. Ones standing at gates will always link aggro. Open the gate, wait for patrol and finish it. Turn to left, there should be ghost in middle of 3-5 other mobs. Pull and NUKE the ghost asap while heading towards portal already, when its dead exit the instance ignoring other mobs of the pack.
This is where I had to regen first time (you can also powerfarm drinking potions) when health and mana are at 60% return inside. Loot your first ghost. Go past gate again, this time face right. Wait for ghost patrol, kill and loot it.
Head downstairs and kill the two casters in front of you, wait for patrol (big guy) and finish it. Now get the ghost in middle, also kill its add. You should be able to kill one more patrol in middle with remaining health/mana.
Now regen and kill ghost thats under the stair complex, four ghosts down so far. Now its time to do "suicide pull" again (not literally), face towards the boss, when its out of sight, pull the ghost thats in middle of big packs, nuke it down -> loot, survive the focus fire of its friends which would be easy as most are shadowbolts which you resist, run out after looting, reset the instance, regen and repeat.
This is what I found to be most effective way to farm the formula. I tried several other routes and pull tactics and this gave most efficient time. Took me 6 resets to get it, good luck.
P.S My route might not be best for melee so if you are one then you should try to make own tactic for most effective farming.

People on the Lifestealing bandwagon seem to be forgetting some very major things.

1. The value of Crusader procs scale as your gear gets better (ie: you get more crit, more hit, expertise). Lifestealing is a flat damage number (adjusted by VERY few talents/abilities) that can crit. If all you're wearing is a grey weapon or two, Lifestealing may be better, but if you actually go out of your way to get an enchant like Crusader/Lifestealing, and can't choose between the two, in general Crusader will be better.

2. Both Crusader and Lifestealing can proc off special attacks, but only Crusader actually increases the damage of those special attacks. That is why a lot of the math in these comments in horribly incomplete - there is not a melee dps class that will only auto-attack during the 15 seconds of Crusader buff, so any maths that assumes that is useless.

3. For Paladins, the Str bonus scales with Blessing of Kings, Divine Str, Crusade, Two-Hand spec, Precision, Imp Sanc Aura and Vengeance and Avenging Wrath in terms of passives, and auto-attack, Seal of Blood/Command and Crusader Strike damage will be increased.

4. For Warriors, it scales with Enrage, Duel-wield spec, Flurry, Berserker Stance/Improved Berserker Stance, Vitality, Two-Hand spec, Precision, Impale, Death Wish and Deep Wounds in terms of passives (man that's a long list). All special attacks that don't have fixed damage will have their damage increased.

5. For Shamans, it scales with Flurry, Elemental Weapons talent, Weapons Mastery, Unleashed Rage, all the +hit talents, and increases the value of Mental Quickness and Shamanistic Rage. It increases the damage of auto-attack, Windfury Weapon and Stormstrike, and will indirectly affect Shock spells, Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning because of Mental Quickness.

6. For rogues, who only get 100 AP bonus, it scales with Imp Evis, Murder, Lethality, Imp Kidney Shot, Find Weakness, Precision, Duel-Wield spec, Blade Flurry, Aggression, Weapons Expertise, Surprise attacks, Opportunity, Serrated Blades, Hemmorage (both the attack and the debuff), Master of Subtlety, Deadliness, Sinister Calling and the Shadowstep buff you get after use. Of course, it affects auto-attack and pretty much all special attacks that do damage.

There is a reason why people in 60 raiding guilds didn't use Lifestealing - it doesn't measure up. Agility for Hunters (who shouldn't be meleeing often) and twink Rogues, Crusader for the rest, until you start hitting BC enchants.

Playing on my new twink (Pickaman, Gorefiend server) in a WSG I had lifestealer proc 12 times with 70 melee attacks. Don't know how much this will help, but I have been looking and have still yet to see a definitive proc chance for this enchant.

This is one of the 10 extremely rare/rare (blue) items that are dropped in Scholomance, and Scholomance only - or in other words here is a list of all the zone drops from the dungeon that goes by the name of Scholomance. ~~(except for the three last)~~

Did a parsing with this as a test :
Subject : Level 60 rogue
Weapons :
Heartseeker w/ Crusader (mainhand)
vs.
Heartseeker w/ Lifestealing (mainhand)

(no offhand weapon )

In 3 separate tries vs. lvl 55-56 mobs for 10 minutes per trial,

Total damage w/ Crusader enchant was more

Total healing w/ Crusader enchant was more

Proc rates were about the same, with crusader being 1.8% lower than lifesteal in how-often it proc'd, but even with this lower rate it healed more and contributed more to overall damage than the lifestealing enchant.

Glad we did the lifestealing test first, so when crusader turned out to be considerably better we didn't have to re-enchant again ;P

This does not place a dot on the target. It is an istant 30 damage 30 heal. It can be partially resisted. It can be entirely resisted. It has a better proc rate than crusader. However, crusader cannot be resisted.

Again, this DOES NOT put a debuff on the target. I don't know where people got the idea that it does.

I have this enchant on both of my weapons. I'm a swords specced Rogue and I am also an enchanter who has learned the formula. I can honestly say that i prefer this enchant to crusader as a rogue. Firstly lifestealing has a proc of something like... 25%. I would say it procs 4-5 times per fight meaning it does 120-150 damage and heals you for 120-150 life on average. It's a great boost in DPS and it also helps your survivability.

The reason I'm not big on Crusader is because it gives a boost in strength. Strength, I find does not help nearly as much as agility which is why i wouldn't bother wasting my money on it again. It heals for approximate the same amount as lifestealing would if it procced during a fight, but the proc rate is far lower than that of lifestealing and so you can't count on it as much.

If you compare lifestealing to +5 dmg on 1h weapon, we can see that lifestealing is superior. 25% chance to proc means 1 of every 4 hits on average is a proc. +5 dmg means you need 6 hits to do 30 damage and lifestealing means you need 4 hits (on average) to do the same damage. And as a bonus it heals you.

As a rogue in an instance, dual lifestealing enchant and dual instant poison on weapons or dense sharpening stones means a hell of a lot of damage.

As for a twinker, the 30 damage / healing boost is huge since lower levels have much lower health than level 60s. And since low levels do not have many talent points at their disposal to upgrade their skills, this will make all the difference.

There is a reason why this formula is blue and crusader is green. Think about it. If you are interested, send me an in game mail. Name: Citizen. Server: Eredar. I charge 5g and you bring the mats.

It steals 30 hp. It procs a lot, 6 times more than crusader from what ive heard. Curse of shadows and locks shadowboltcrit affects the dmg. It is best for sword rogues (dagger rogues should enchant 5 dmg on mainhand and 15 agi on off, for warriors crusader is much better) I got it on my vis'kag and it owns.

Let's take 1.9 AS sword, and 3,8 2H axe for an example. As this is 6 procs per min on average, u get 6PPM regardles of weapon speed. I don't know why you should go after 1.3 daggers? Ok, with 1.9 hit 31 times in 1min (if none are dodged/parried/missed/bloceked), with 3.8 u hit 16 times. With fast one it proces on every 5 hit (average), where on slow one it proces every 2 or 3 hits.

Here's the table for easier understanding.

1.9AS ....0....0....0....0....0....0. (31 hits in 1min)

3.8AS . . 0 . o . . 0 . . o . o . . o (16 hits in 1min)

. = hit
0 = LS proc

Crusader has a proc rate of 1 Proc Per Minute
Crusaders heals for 75-125, therefore 100 average.
That means you will have an average heal of 100 per 60 seconds.

Therefore, crusader has 1.66 Healing per Second.

Crusader also increases Strength by 100 on average once per minute, giving Rogues a 1.66 Damage Per Second boost as well.

Also, the damage benefit of Crusader is also mitigated by armor, resulting in damage returns of even less than this.

Lifestealing, on the other hand, as a proc rate of 6 Procs Per Minute. Each time it does proc, it heals you for 30 and does 30 damage.
So, 6(PPM) x 30(Damage)= 180 Damage Per Minute.
Divide that by 60(seconds in a minute), and you get 3 DPS. Almost twice that of Crusader.
This same formula applies to the healing aspect of Lifestealing, giving you 3 HPS as opposed to Crusader's 1.66.

In summation,
LS= 3 DPS, 3 HPS,
Crusader= 1.66 Dps, 1.66 HPS

However, Lifestealing can be resisted, and some do prefer the slightly higher burst damage of Crusader over the sustained higher benefits of Lifestealing.

All in all, I prefer Lifestealing to Crusader for a Rogue any day of the week.

LIFESTEALING --- 6/60seconds at 30hp stolen = 3damage/s and 3heal/s (no madder how fast your weapon is)

if your enemy has shadow resistance equal to his lvl (wich very very few players have) he will take on average 15% less damage from this.

CRUSADER --- 1/60seconds increases dps by about 14dps on war,pal,sham,druids and only 7dps for rogues and hunters for 15 seconds. So you get this only 15seconds out of 60seconds (1/4 of the time) therefor your dps bonus is only 1/4 of whats stated above, so...

3.5dps for war,pal,sham,dru
1.75 for rogue, hunter
+1/60 chance to heal for75-125= 1.66healing/s
NOW heres the part most crusader lovers have bin missing, on average the enemys you'll be fighting will have 35% physical resistance compared to the 15% magical resistance(wich very few players have, most have like 5% especially at twink lvls)

Also Crusader does not stack unless your duel wielding with 2 crusaders, and another bad
downer is that your target might be dead way before your 15s is up wasting the remaining time if your not within close reach of another target. Lifestealing is active all the time.

My conclusion is that Lifestealing is better according to my calculations ( and a heck of a lot better for rogues and hunters).

So, this drops in the second room of Scholo, right? By this, I mean the following.

Once you enter the locked door from outside (turning left), you enter the instance, while heading down stairs. Once at the bottom of these stairs, you encounter four skeleton guards (this being the first room). Once you kill these four guards and open the gate, you can enter the second room. In this room, you start at the top of some stairs and can go down either to the right or left. This is the only room in which I have found the Spectral Researcher.

Is this the correct room? I have read a few descriptions by other people on this post and on www.wowhead.com/cata that seemed to imply that these were deeper into the instance. Any suggestions? I've cleared this room a few times with no luck, and as a 62 mage, I'm finding it hard to do, not to mention, expensive (repair bills, etc).

IMO Lifestealing MH and +15 Agility OH is the best combination for a Combat Rogue (Twink). OH will miss more and it will proc less so why put something on it. MH will proc and IMO Lifestealing is a lot more reliable than Crusader. Lifestealing has saved me so many times in a fight, but Crusader only heals me, it doesnt damage em. But yeah thats what i think.

It's great all you rogues talking about lifesteal.
But for a warrior the crusader proc is simply unbeatable. It is a strength proc, meaning that your extra AP talent while in bezerker stance affects this as well. And lets not forget that Bloodthirst and Victory Rush damage is calculated as a direct percentage of your AP.

I Dual weild crusaders as a full on fury warrior and couldn't be happier. With flurry procing I get alot out of the extra dps, and spamming bloodthirst results in plenty of big crits.

Oh btw to complete my self healing war, I also have the heroism trinket and the mark of conquest. I very rarely finish a fight without close to full health

Easily farmable by a 70. I'm a druid and killing the guys in here was a piece of cake. I got on the second reset. To clarify, the mobs you need are the BLUE spectral guys in the first room (after the bridge you cross at the beginning. They are called Spectral Researchers. They can knock you backward so be careful of what's behind you.

So, I have been farming this Enchant for 3 hours now and have reset the instance 3 times. I'm back in on my 70 Druid and it finally drops (after 20 or so kills)! On my way out I decide to kill the last researcher just for the hell of it...and it dropped again! i don't know to be mad or just keep laughing! OH well..it is there and still drops.

You can get this out of scholomance... it droped for me in like the first 5-10 kills.... it was awsome! i cant use it cuss im only 200 enchanter.... lol but still its a great place to get it!

I know this is a stupid question but... will something like lesser wizard oil add to the damage the lifestealing does when it steals life? If so, will that extra be added to the life you gain?

got this first kill. i got the crusader formula first kill like less then 15 min before and i was planning on farming the lifestealing formula. i needed food and a mage offered me some in hearthglen. i headed up that way and on my way back aggroed a scarlet spellbinder and it dropped. then i went ot scholo and stealthed to the first gate, opened it and aggroed the skeletons and vanished. went down into a little area that had 1 spectral researcher, killed it with ease and it dropped. finally getting 150 riding for me alt

Well, it dropped on the first spectral researcher we killed in my 5 man group today, I was the only enchanter in group, and a paladin rolled on it and won it. Though we'd agreed that whoever needs an item that falls will get it, he took it and then left party to sell it in AH....

I can do this on brozebeard horde side

i used it on myself on a slow weapon, HIGHLY woudlnt recommend doing it on a slower weapon, since theres a higher chance of stealing life with a faster 1 hand weapon

I got this from a Spectral researcher in Scholo.... the procs seem to be great for end game alliances... but i cant see how one or a couple of players could justify the expenditure to have it on their chars... I am a rogue and as soon as i got it wanted to sell it to the nearest.... lol my alliance guys... that way all the mats are covered by a load of players and the enchant can be smacked on to a load of beneficiaries... thru guild bank (BTW 500g lol)

I decided to farm this, it dropped off second researcher first run solo, then the second run it dropped again off same guy, later with a buddy it dropped two times in a row as well of the same guy but diferent from earlier... 4 drops in one day WTF?

as evry1 has mentioned, drop rate and proc rate changed w/ BC. I recently upped my enchanting, and was farming various formulas. Fiery in BRD was 14 runs, this was on kill 1 in scholo...yeah both sell well on my server, but talk about drop rate differences lol

First of all...this enchanting form is damn near impossible to get. I've been trying to get it for weeks now, only 6 Spectral Researchers in Scholomance, so not many chances to get one to drop unless you convince a group to just keep resetting the instance.

Secondly, this enchant is best for Rogues. Duel wielding daggers, both with this enchant, and a proc % of like 30-35% for 30-35 health per proc (PER DAGGER), makes this very Rogue friendly.

The key to this enchant is SPEED. I've tested Crusader and for dagger using Rogues, I would say add Lifestealing to both and you will be very pleased with it. IF you can find someone on your server with the formula.

Just a thought i'm interested in getting this for my rogue. If you have a fast weapon that swings 2 times faster then a slow weapon. Wouldnt you have 2 "chances" for the proc to hit compared to 1 "chance" on the slow weapon. Procs hit on percentages right. so lets say its a 5% proc rate on lifestealing. the fast weapon would get 2 swings that each have a 5 % chance to proc. the slow weapon would get 1 hit in with the same 5% chance. So it seems if the proc has no memory and always has the same chance to proc on each and every swing. If you swing more times in a fight you have more chances for it to go off then someone who only swings a few times. <<< or like some people on this page were saying .... will a slower weapon be giving some special higher proc rate because of it being slower or do all weapon speeds share the same percent to proc chance. i've tested with fiery plenty of times and the more hits you could get in the more times it would go off because you had that many more chances for it to proc. so does this mean a 5 % proc rate in a fight that has 10 swings will proc more times then a fight with a 5% proc rate with 5 swings

someone sold this enchant for 50g on Burning Blade, quite cheap, she made at least 600g in 5 mins
i took it myself but i don't think it was worth it now. I put it on a polearm, wich may have been a mistake as it's a slow weapon.
It procs maybe every 3th-4th strike and 30 ain't much when the enemy hits you for 100-200...
As a hunter i'm dead before i can hit that rogue

Granted Blizzard basically nerfed Crusader, Icy, and Lifestealing in the last patch (2.0.3) when used on characters over level 60, but I still got it for a dang good deal.

Two drops in one run, my first run to get it, too. Got it within 4 kills of the Researchers and decided to go after the rest, last kill dropped the second. I must have been lucky to get it twice in a single run. 70 Rogue so it was easy to hit and run them.

Secondly, this enchant is best for Rogues.

The key to this enchant is SPEED.

This isnt Diablo where proc kicksin every single hit u land, in fact the slower the weapon higher the chance it will kick in, for example if u use slow @ss weapon like Arcanite Reaper it will kick in almost every hit.
P.S. Blizzard isn't that dumb to make enchant that will win for you.

I saw this enchant on the site yesterday and decided to give it a go.

So last night, I took my warrior (63) and my wife (65 Dr00d) into Scholo. We'd been running BRD without any problems and disenchanting all the blues from the boss encounters.

Cleared the first area by the bridge, then we hung a right down the stairs and started pulling back up to the bridge. On the third Researcher, I about crapped my pants when the Lifestealing enchant dropped.

All told, we spend about 15 minutes in the instance to grab an item with a 1.4% chance to drop. That was one lucky night.

So if you're looking for this enchant on Silvermoon, let me or Relampago know :)

at lvl 60 this procced for 33 health, it get less if you're lower lvl. I had it on my quick (1.5 speed) o/h wpn and it'd proc about once per kill, mb once in 6/7 hits.

As for +healing, it counts as leech life, which is effectively shadow dmg. I know the +shad dmg pots used to increase it, but I think they fixed that out a while ago.

Not a bad enchant for a low-lvl melee class if you're soloing. I'm a fury warr, between this, heroism trinket and bloodthirst it used to lower downtime between mobs quite well. Only really useful for pve though, Fiery is prolly better & cheaper for pve.

This is godlike for shamans. At lvl 60 you should atleast have enough items to give you +100 to healing spells and effects. That means this will heal you for ~130 per hit (or more). Best enchant in game!

Thanks for the good intel on this i solo farmed the first room four times and got six of elemental, codex: prayer of shadow protection then a bunch of greens and finally the lifestealing recipe. the first two clearings i wasted a lot of time seems u only get one blue in the room so if u get one leave and reset and start again

got it for 25g on llane ah buy out. i understand that its nerfed but selling it for 25g is just idiotic. i did a double take when i saw it. i got crusader for 80 a couple of days ago. price of crusader has crawled back up to over 100g on bid. lifestealing is worth more, so i'm guessing it'll prolly settle at atleast 150-200g. hehehe 25g....hope i don't feel stupid spending that much and it ends up being like 2g in a week.

If your going to pay a lot for the enchant, it's not worth it. Decent glow, procs well, when it does proc 40 health is not much. Crusader is way more worth it then this.

Enter Scholo... kill all Spectral Researchers in first room... if Lifestealing doesnt drop, repeat... you'll get it. Pretty easy if you have a 60+ LVL character. I took my rogue and it dropped two times in five runs... I laughed at all of the times I'd seen it drop in a party and inevitably it was ninjaed some kinda way.

Also sold mine for 600g but now I'm thinking I wish I kept it. I probably would have made a great deal of money with the Burning crusade coming out soon and the influx of new weapons and people wanting new enchants on them. I can imagine a slew of new Blood elf rogues hitting the servers, I plan on playing one myself. I'd imagine the enchant sells well on PvP servers as well.

Oh well, I'm at 282 in enchanting, guess I'll have to be happy with doing crusader enchants when I reach 300.

I tested Lifesteal in MC today. To see if I wanted it or Crusader. Anyway. All the fire mobs were immune to it and by immune I mean it never procd at all against the fire elemental model type mobs. Fire Lords, Flamewalkers, Fireguards and Geddon. No procs at all vs any of them.

I got this enchant for my little level 10 (dont ask why) on a axe with 3.5 attack speed. This proc's like every 5-10 swings and steals around 30...it seems kinda random...Ive had it proc 3 hits in a row and heal stole 27-30. A very good enchant to do duels with at my level, but I dont see alot of worth past level 35 (when you can get the REAL enchants)

Farming the Blood Steward with a mage and a pally. Totally forgot about this enchant, we were just killing the Risan Guards for Bone Fragments and money. There is 3 researchers you can pull and kill on one reset of instance. I kept the enchant and learned it, but I want on a differnt toon. I read that the proc doesn't go off but 30% of the time. Of course, the Pally I play with is my RL girl friend, so she wants enchant on a Destiny. Is it worth it? It would be replacing an Icy enchant, so it must be better than that, but Destiny is slow. Anyone have this on a two handed weapon that likes it? Or should we just go with Crusader?

As of patch 1.10 life stealing deals Shadow Damage.

Its useable now in MC and BOY DOES IT GO OFF LIKE CRAZY !~~~~I used to love crusader and then even +5 Dmg ! But heck i want to pvp as well . If you think crusader procs alot wait till u get this lil beauty.Life stealing not only does 30 DMG it heals u for 30 Life as well.I cant stop praising this enchant .In MC even with the best healers the MTs have priority , with the healing i got I was actually dealing more dmg over time and I dont have to use as much pots as other rogues who were noticeably dieing alot more

Need to take into account in pvp/lowhpmobs/fastkills that you may not benefit from the 100strength after having the enchant proc. The LS dmg is instant and does not require an "open" window that may take some time attacking to see the Crus dmg become higher overall. Especially seeing a lower proc rate with crusader the chances get smaller to benefit.
