Absolutely! A Super Healing Potion would then restore 2100-3500 hp. This item is a must for people that consume lots of potions =)
It seems it also functions as a Philosopher's Stone as well, meaning you can perform Transmutations without the original stone used to make it =)

This item in its current form is so ridiculously overpowered that it is both silly and a must-have for all raiding healers.

A Super Mana Potion restores, on average, 2400 mana, on a cooldown of 2 minutes. This is an equivalent of 100 mana per 5 seconds (!!). Just by chain-drinking Super Mana Potions, you improve yourself by more than an entire tier of gear.

This trinket adds another 40 mana per 5 seconds. That is 140 mana per 5 seconds per Super Mana Potion.

So, when Blizzard designs a level 70 raid instance, they can either tune it for no consumables (and have every boss brute forced by completely buffed raids), or they can tune it for full consumables. Voila, there you go, another Naxxramas-like grind fest.

Items like this will either make raid instances too easy, or impossible without full consumable buffs.

The funny thing acutally is, that with my current spec I get a +20% healing bonus from all sources (pots, bandages, etc). And guess what, it stacks the +40% from this trinket :)

This means my "average" Super Healing Potion, will heal for about 3k2 :)

My Master Healthstone normally heals for 2496 damage, but yesterday it critted and healed me for 6604 while I was wearing Alchemist's Stone.

This took two days of grinding for the primals and I already had the fel lotus from herbalism and most of the jewels from random drops. I needed to buy 4 gems and I had all the mats. The worst part of making this is the cooldown on the transmutes. Each diamond has a 48 hour cooldown and the Primal Mights have a 24 hour cooldown. It's hard to find alchemists who aren't on cooldown from a transmute of some kind. Fortunately I found a couple and I will make this later today after the server comes back up and I can transmute my last might!

I'm one happy druid...

With the latest patch they have "fixed" this item so that it will no longer work with healthstones, mana rubies and the like. It should now only work with potions.

If you're an alchemist, I highly recommend getting this. With the stats on it and with the healing bonus, I always try to have this equipped during boss fights where some serious damage is dealt to ranged DPS (i.e. the Maiden of Virtue). Of course, having a stack of healing and/or mana potions on you is obvious at this point.

It's also nice so that now that you're carrying around this thing in your inventory instead of it being in your bank, doing transmutes for yourself or others becomes less of a hassle.

Completely worth the small amount of time and money spent getting this.

The profession patch notes for 2.1 have just been announced (in the profession forum. One point in the notes says:

The "Alchemist's Stone" bonus now works on potions that restore both health and mana.

So rejuvination potions are not affected now, but will be once 2.1 hits the live servers.

my warlocks benefits 4000HP from using Superior Healing potion which only heals for 2800 maximum.

I disagree. For the non-engineering tanking Warrior who is beyond 490 Def, this stone is extremely helpful just for stats. It is rated at 1322 Tank Points. The +15 Str, Agil, Stam gives 150 HPS, 30 Armor, 30 AP, .60% Crit, .55% dodge, and 1 block value. Add in the "OMG I have to drink a pot cause my healers are LOM", +40% health factor, its a win/win for tanking warriors.

Not to needlessly clutter the site with "insert class" comments but I am really sort of surprised by the lack of the
'perphrial' benefits of this item. I say perphrial only because the overall focus of 24+ comments on this trinket are on the equip bonus to healing and mana restoring potions.

In truth if you break it down into points this really is extremely well balanced for a melee-oriented paladin or shaman. It certainly would be wonderful for a druid as well since they are the only other class that would 'use' all the stats provided but I list druids below the other two simply for the fact you would only be making use of several of the stats at a given time and not all of them at the same time due to forms.

As Pyrous stated: "The +15 Str, Agil, Stam gives 150 HPS, 30 Armor, 30 AP, .60% Crit, .55% dodge, and 1 block value"

So without cramming to much math into this lets just take:

as sort of the baseline for equip: stats.

32 crit rating gives 1.45% chance to crit so that is the maximum amount of passive crit rating for an item of that item level.

64 AP equates to 32 Str and is also the maximum amount of passive AP for an item of that level (this is just a scenario for perspective in terms of max. per item level btw)

This trinket gives .6% to crit which is 41.4% of the crit the hourglass gives, say an even 40% for simplicity.

This trinket gives 30 AP which is 46.8% of the AP given by the abacus, say an even 45%.

So with those two stats alone it would be combined only 15% behind; but it gives 15 stam as well (40% compared to the Argussian Compass); 15 int. (~35% of the Pendant of the Violet Eye); the half point of dodge that is about 25% of moroes' pocket watch; and 15 spirit which if you were really bored you could compare to the bangle of endless blessings somehow or another.

So by these very very rough numbers of trinkets either from full lvl 70 dungeons and kara you could say that for passive buffs it provides an additional 85% bonus overall than trinkets equally untainable and a few that require a 10 man raid.

The equip has been mapped out left to right, bottom to top so I won't get into that, and while it doesn't directly boost your DPS you could look at it as increasing your ability to sustain DPS if some of that is derivied from spending mana or you know, not being dead.

Of course, a lot of people like to specialize... to have that big crit rating or AP surplus and in situations most will specialize as dictated by circumstance but if you are like me and you spread your stats out throughout your gear, sockets and etc then this really is an excellent DMG trinket as well.

So love and embrace the equip but don't let yourself slip into thinking that this or that trinket would be better for DPS when there is a very good chance it actually wouldn't be in the long run.

That and it is epic, made by me, and a reason to keep alchemy other than the 'well I do have a hundred grey recipes I collected over the last couple years' train of thought I had before I made mine.

I am as you can see... wearing this trinket.. made it during leveling and that was truely nice back there. Anyhow that's not the crucial point.

The point is that i'm very much into pvp... and even more into arenas. I'd be very very fond of having highrating teams... but i guess it takes a while...

All highrating teams are telling me resilience is the key to victory (god bless good contacts)

My experiences with this trinket is pro... I'm feraldruid and it certainly gives hell of a lot stats...

51 attackpower ( counted in cat cause that's where i mostly is)
1% dogde
around a half crit % (dunno the numbers exactly)
~160health ( Tauren racial)
180 Mana ( Heart of the wild)
15 spirit ( don't know the numbers at all but kinda pointless stats anyway)
And with my nurturing instincs it also gives +7.5healing (50% of str)

ANd then the 40% from pots... i can't say i use pots that much.. Because items are not allowed to be used in forms.
But it happends.

There's no talk about using them both... Medallion of the horde will always have one spot... and the other one is between these ones.
34 resilience...? and resilience was the key to win arena-games... And then another healing... and this one useable IN FORMS... so no shapeshifting for using it...

Been speaking to druids about this one... and ppl with it tells me that their survivability is greatly raised after equipping this one.

So? is the major loss of healtH/ap/crit/dogde/mana/spellcrit/regain etc worth it compared to the 34 resilience and the healing-capability?

That's a lot of theorycrafting to prove that this epic trinkets is better than a blue one.

Yes the stats are nice and well rounded, but if you compare it to other <epic> trinkets, and think that you only have 2 trinket slots (effectively 1 in PvP), then it's not hard to find trinkets that outweigh the stats on this one. So the make-or-break for this trinket comes right back to the "Equip:". If in your playstyle you use a lot of health or mana potions then it's fantastic. If not, then it's not. It's not complicated.

Absolutely the #1 healing trinket for Priests... its all about the Equip bonus. The stats are just icing. Of course its good for any healer, but Priests in particular as our mana efficiency is lower than other healers, and our only mana-regen (Shadowfiend) is targeted and unreliable (killed, miss, resist, just sits there, etc). A super-mana pot with this is great, and a Fel-mana is amazing.

If you chugged a super-mana every time the cooldown was up, and were very unlucky and got only the minimum amount back each time (1800+40%), this trinket gives you 105 mp5. If you're rich and do this with Fel Manas, its 187 mp5.

If your a healer, and an alchemist, this thing is worth every second of effort to get it.

I think it is indeed verry usefull for classes that use potions a lot like Kaitain said and good for hybrids that use most of the stats as Corneto said. But its rather useless for some classes i think. For instance less mana dependent classes (like hunter, warlock, rogue, dps war) wont benifit that much from the 40% extra and this cant be used in arena ofcourse. And considering the stats if youre class only needs a few of the base stats (like a lock only needs int/sta or in pve not even that much sta), this trinket is not that good.
example:
For a lock only sta and int can be usefull (pve or pvp) so you get +30 stats considering having life trap and siphon life as afli lock or soul leach as destro (in most cases) pots wont get used that much. Making this trinket worse then some blues:

Im not sure if its just some kind of gear or spec i have but i have confirmed that a 2496 healthstone now heals 3145.... it might be new with 2.3 but it makes this trinket another reason for every class to have it... especialy locks :)

For tanking druids, this is a hair over 1% dodge and 210 hp. That alone makes it a fair tanking trinket, but the really crazy part is the way it affects potions that are taken in Bear Form.

For anyone unfamiliar with the recent change in the mechanics of using potions in Bear Form, it involves a macro along the lines of:

/use Super Healing Potion
/cast Dire Bear Form

This allows Bears to shift to caster, use the potion, and shift back into bear with a single click, and as long as they are not in the GCD, there's no chance of being hit mid shift. Because you retain the same percentage of your life when shifting from Bear to Caster and back again, potions end up restoring more HP than they say.

Assuming for a moment that you've got about 12.6k life in Caster form and about 17k in Bear (reasonable for tanking in SSC/TK), you'll get around a 35% increase in raw health gained from potions you take since they will restore hp in caster and your hp percentage stays the same when you shift back into bear while your max hp goes up. This percentage increases slightly as your max hp rises. The effect works for all hp recovering items such as health stones.

Because of this mechanic, any healing potions taken with the stone on will heal for around 82% more than their listed value since the increases will be multiplicative. That means a Super Healing Potion will restore between 2730 and 4550 life. For a tank in danger, that can be truly amazing, especially if followed by a health stone.

Pretty good on Paladin if you use Mad Alchemist's Potion, because Spiritual Attunement gives you 10% of the life healed back as mana. Very useful in AE encounters like Illidari Council.

With Patch 2.4 "Fury of the sunwell" you can upgrade your Alchemist's Stone to one of the following new Stones:

You need to be exalted with the Shattered Sun Offensive to purshase the receipes.
Each receipe cost 20 gold (Exalted). This makes 80 gold for all 4 receipes.
All 4 Stones are bind on pickup. You never need the posibility to create all 4 stones. So save your money and only by the receipes you really need.
You should speak with Eldara Dawnrunner <Shattered Sun Quartermaster> once you hit exalted with the Shattered Sun Offensive.
Two Nether Vortex are requiered to upgrade your Stone to the one of the new one. They drop of from Trash Mobs in Serpentshrine Cavern and The Eye
Along with the 2 vortex you need 6 elemental primals. The type of the primal depends on the stone:

Assassin's Alchemist Stone: Primal Shadow
Guardian's Alchemist Stone: Primal Air
Redeemer's Alchemist Stone: Primal Life
Sorcerer's Alchemist Stone: Primal Fire

The effect does not stack with other similar effects.

Essentially this item was extraordinary when people were beggining to reach level 70 and were drooling over the blue class sets from normal instances. 15 to all stats was pretty huge.

But today of course, everybody is loaded with the free epics that blizzard have been giving away. Because of this, many of the profession-specific crafts are sub-par or quickly replaced. The Weapons from Blacksmithing for example, or the Armor crafted by leatherworkers.

In order to boos the value of professions, Blizzard have thus modified a few things. Drums for leatherworkers, new trinkets for jewelcrafters, new goggles for engineers, ...

And of course, new Stones for alchemists who were starting to wonder whether it was worth it to wear the old stone. Now of course, any mana-intensive class will be very glad to use one of the 4 new stones over the old one.

The problem with this (and Potting in general) as a Feral druid is Potting still has risk too it.

If you click the macro inside a GCD it leaves you in Caster Form...If you Lag you can left in caster form...If the mob happens to stun you as you hit the macro...You are left in caster form, if the game registers you being hit during the switch (it appears instant but is not server side)...then you will likely die from the hit...

And so on. Potting has saved my life but also killed me an equal number of times.

One day Blizzard will give up the silly "cant pot in feral forms" crap..Non-feral forms can already pot. I have hope for WOTLK since theres talk of removing the ridiculous "must be outside" requirements off our snares, and the minute cooldown off our AOE attack.

But thats really a ranting tangent...This stone is the reason my Pally is alchemist.

With the recent inflation on most servers, this has gotten much more expensive.

On my server:
Earthstorm: ~200g
Skyfire: ~250g
Fel Lotus: ~60g ea (120g total)
Primal might: ~200g ea (1,000g total)
+Mats for Redeemer:
Nether Vortex: ~300g ea (600g total)
Primal Life: ~30g ea (180g total)

Which means if you AH'ed all the mats for this + improved version on my server you'd pay just under 2,400g for this awesome trinket.

Well it is true this item blow away some mana regen trinket...
But look it from diferent aspect,it also provide +15 all stats (thats not small deal)

and 15 spirit (+25% from living spirit talent) giefing some mana regen too

This trinket is absolutely awesome for raidhealers, who use mana-pot every 2 minutes. During Bossfights, this enlarges your manapool by a great amount. Go for it if you are a healer.

Even without the actual equip this would still be a fantastic trinket. The Argussian Compass is the closest you can get to any other trinket with 75 stat points (79 for my paladin), and its use is a Power Word: Shield

With the Potion of Mastery and Blessing of Kings I am looking at 188 additional stats. In fact, it is like a second Blessing of Kings as it only gives me 121 additional stats.

I don't use pots to grind with, so I wouldn't be using the equip then but would benifit from the strength and agility... which I don't benefit from in instance groups as a main healer but on the other hand that is exactly when I do use potions.

Getting back a potential 4480 mana over 24 seconds from a Fel Mana Potion is the equivalent of sudenly gaining 896 mana/5. Not to mention using divine shield to wipe the debuff, I personally find this very sexy.

Just wanted to point out that the description isn't all that strict as far as ONLY affecting a "healing potion" or a "mana potion". It works with super rejuvenation pots, too. I was testing it out, and got a crit heal. I wish I'd been lower on HP\mana at the time, but I was sitting at about 2500hp, and it healed me for over 5000, completely refilling my life. It definitely would've done more, but I didn't tap any lower than about 2500 because I didn't think I'd max out. So there you have it. Alchemist's Stone + Super Rejuvenation pot + crit heal = almost a total HP\mana refill for me with about 7700hp and 8400 mana (I was unbuffed at the time).

So as well as working with Mana Potions, Healing Potions, Mana Injectors, Healing Injectors, and Rejuvenations Potions, does this also work with the new Mad Alchemist's Potion (which rocks, btw!)?

Assumptions

Pots are drunk continuously without human error.
The first 30 seconds no pots are consumed, lets call this our lag phase.
Fel mana potions are used for greatest return.

= 3200 mana x 1.40/ (150 seconds/5)
= 1280/30 mp5
= 42.6 mp5 for a 2.5 minute fight

This value increases slightly with increasing length to the fight, the lag phase being divided between greater CDs of pots. These values are dependent upon human error, if you miss the CD of a pot then the yield of mp5 will be lower as a consequence.

4.5 min. 2560 / 54 = 47.4 mp5
6.5 min. 3840 / 78 = 49.2 mp5
8.5 min. 5120 / 102 = 50.1 mp5
10.5 min. 6400 / 126 = 50.7 mp5

Regardless, even with a conservative estimate of 40 mp5 this is the best regen trinket in the game, admittedly with the draw back of reduced + healing and the loss of any use abilities (which i hate any ways)

For your reference, the return after a 10.5 min fight with super mana pots is 38 mp5.

P.S.

Probably made some errors, I’ll be happy to see what others calculate. With my experiences in BT on my resto shaman I am interested in peoples trinket choices for those healing intensive encounters.

I haven't read all the below treshold posts but this thing is a blast for balance druids. Since We struggle alot with oom the 40% extra mana from pots is great. I'd take this over almost any +spelldmg in the game since we have to use our innervate on healers.

Some might think this is redicolous but truth is what damage can I do when I am oom? This is the perfect trinket for balance druids.

With the evolvement in patch 2.4 this trinket will probably be THE best trinket in the game. You can either chose to make it to any of these items:

It's not that hard. Just go into the central area where Ada'l (or however the hell you spell it) is floating. Look around the perimeter (but still inside the building) and you'll eventually find him. He's alone so it shouldn't be hard to mouseover.

It is in the first PvP patch that it has been confirmed that the Alchemists' stone does not exist. Now when creating the Flask of Petrification you need only to have in your inventory the Philosophers' Stone and be at the Alchemy Lab in Scholomance.

Allright, there has been alot of speculation as to if this thing exists in the game today or if it was removed after beta. Well i emailed blizzard and they said that it is in the game. Just thought i would let everyone know because i know this was very unclear subject

This does consume your philosopher's stone when you create it, but it also seems to take the place of it. I just did a transmute without philosopher's stone in my bags, but I have Alchemist's Stone and was able to do the transmute. So no need to make a new philosopher's stone once you have this. Hooray.

Well, the stats are very nice (especially for a hybrid class), the healing bonus stacks with Fel Armour (tested by myself, dunno about other + x% healed effects)and it obviously serves as though having Philosopher's stone and it is something that all the alchemists there at least can proudly show as the proof (and benefit) of the mastery in their profession.
Moreover, the mats are not so hard to come by when you are an alchemist (and even easier when you are also a herbalist)

even if this item wasnt BoA it requires alchem 300 to equip. so unless u have alchem maxed this item wouldnt do anything. if u could buy it from vendor u still couldnt equip without skill 300 in alchem

i doubt molten core. the tables there are pretty well established.

my vote is that it comes from high faction. first guess would be revered/exalted with timbermaws.

I have this on my shammy, and I love it because I make use of all the stats while in dps gear, and I make use of the potion amplification effect while in heal gear.

However.. since the most recent patch (2.10 I think?) the +40% effect only works with healing and mana potions -- NOT healthstones, mana gems, etc...

As far as i know, and what blizzard has told med when i asked them, this item exists. And from reading these comments. It's probably a drop from molten core. Can anyone confirm that this item really exists ?

Hey ! I Heard that this is sold by the Alchemy Supplies Vendor in Gadgetzan... I've visited him MANY MANY times but never found the recipe. I wish there was some kind of direction from Blizzard for Alchemists to aquire this Item--- does anyone know anyone who has it?

its not the alchemist's stone recipe thats found in gadgetzan its the philosopher's stone recipe found there... though i do agree that there should be a hint or clue.. i mean its like playing full metal alchemist out there, going off a rumor to get something almost impossible...

The stone is made with 300 skill in Alchemy, and since it's bind on pick up, i assume that only alchemists can have it . . .

This recipe drops in MC and is an exceptionally rare drop. Only alchemists can use it as denoted by the binds on pickup. The item is used to create all the flasks from the 300 lvl recipes.

Yeah no one knows where this thing drops, and the dumb thing is its not a good tinket. Mabey if it was 50%. I think it should just reduce the cooldown timers for all pots by 50% when equiped, I mean come on gives Alchs SOMETHING good lol.
