Like the worg pup quest, this one is soloable by rogues or druids. Just stealth into the instance to the spider area, and be sure to pick the eggs that aren't next to any mobs. Just watch out if you get spiderlings instead of spider eggs. (This is where druids might have an easier time because of self-heal, but rogues can also vanish if they attacked.) And if you don't get enough eggs the first run, just head back out and reset. Easy as pie!

Was helping a few friends in LBRS the other day on a hunter alt (70), one shared the quest, figured what the hell, and collected up the eggs after the run; since they respawn and all. I went to turn it in, turns out, though, You're unable to complete it if you're hated with the Steamwheedle. One of the few drawbacks to being a Pirate.

As Sheyon noted, druids can solo this using stealth. If you you open an egg with hatchlings, you will likely pull aggro on their nearby friends as well. For Night Elves, the 3.0 shadowmeld will not work on the spiders, so if you pull aggro, you'll probably die.

Despite what the above might suggest, this item is still obtainable. I ran LBRS and you can still get it. In case anyone had doubts. =)

Ok, so I did an LBRS run, but forgot my worg cage. Do you need any items to gather the eggs? I had no item on me, but I also couldn't collect the eggs wiggling around the area. For some reason thott no longer gives the info on what you need to actually complete a quest.

go into lbrs right, in a 5 man group no raid, just group

go to the spiders

open them, get it done really fast, the moving egg things have like 3 in each

then turn into the quest giver, kibler, in burning steppes

I did this quest alongside the worg quest. I'm a lvl 70 hunter and did not use any stealth potions. I simply followed directions from other guides on thottbot, and because of my high lvl, my aggro pull range was very easy for me to make my way through to the spiders and eggs without pulling anything. You do need to watch yourself though to make sure you dont run too close. You may need to kill some spiders but it is do-able. I solo-ed this quest easy. Good luck! Its a wonderful pet :)

The same reason as every other mini-pet.

Because it looks cool and it lets other people see you accomplished something. In this case (like the Sprite Darter Hatchling) you've accomplished something significantly harder than going to a vendor and buying one.
