The two-piece bonus is essentially the same as the paladin Tier 4 prot two-piece bonus.

This (obviously) is the Protection Paladin t8 set (gear tokens available from the 10man version of Ulduar).

The gear is iLevel 219, a slight upgrade from Naxx25 non-Kel'thuzad gear (which is iLevel 213 - K't gear is iLvl 226).

The set bonuses are a little lackluster. Seal damage is a pretty minimal part of any Prot Paladin's threat generation, though every little bit will be nice. A little bird told me that the 4pc set bonus will be applied before damage is dealt from ShoR, so the additional SBV will provide a boost to ShoR damage. These threat bonuses are nice, but unless a threat nerf is incoming (nothing has been announced as of this posting), Prot Paladin threat will probably not need the help. But, again, the bonuses will be nice.

The colors of the sockets will be upsetting for non-JCers (who will be dropping their +41 Stam Dragon's Eyes into the red sockets), but the Stamina socket bonus will hopefully spur players to branch out in their gemming choices. The lack of any Hit Rating on the gear (an abundance of Defense Rating) will likely result in players gemming for Hit/Stamina in the Yellow sockets, but we will see how threat plays out with the scaling that DPS classes will have in their new gear.

Please note that the 25man version of this set, Conqueror's Aegis Plate, is colored violet/scarlet/orange instead of this set's white/bronze/blue.

The sockets are difficult to fill. I wished the set would have the sockets of the warrior T8 (which has 0 red and therefore a couple more blues). As jewelcrafters Dragon Eye's are limited to three while equipped it pretty much comes down to:

Sovereign Twilight Opal (stamina + threat/block)
or
Regal Twilight Opal (stamina + mitigation)

Note:
Defender'sTwilight Opal ist not a good choice as parry gives less mitigation then dodge and accumulates deminishing returns faster. If you are very low on parry this might be incorrect.

Personally I would use the str stam gems. I like having a high block vs dodge and parry. Has more consistent dmg reduction.

Any idea why a tanking set contains a kilt? I thought the kilts were meant for holy paladins. Looks kinda weird.

Also, if you really want you can use Champion's Monarch Topaz (mitigation/defense) but odds are you wont ever use it unless you are putting together a "block set", and frankly this set ain't a good starting point for it.

Shoulder
Red - Stalwart Monarch Topaz / Champion's Monarch Topaz / Sovereign Twilight Opal

Hands

I haven't done any math to see how much stam / def / else one would lose / gain, but just looking at it quickly makes me think that if you are a Jc this set won't be that much of a hassle.

PS: Ratings buster (an addon) checks you DR and calculates how much parry / dodge / block etc an item gives compared to an older item. Makes gear changeing a bit more easy.

Known tokens locations as of 16th April@04:45AM are:

Head: Thorim.
Chest: Hodir.
Hands: Mimiron.
Leggings: Freya.
Spaulders: Unknown yet, but Ensidia has cleaned every boss except Yogg-saron at the time of writing, therefore it's safe to assume the spaulders drop off the one and only remaining boss; Yogg-saron.

This comment will probably get downrated over time as the database gets filled and links are being fixed between the items and their respective tokens but if you want the info in the meantime, at least... it's "there".

This set is awesome, can't believe Blizzard finally made an awesome tier-gear again. Reminds me a bit of the old tier 2. The helmet would annoy me more if itdidn't shoq your hair. I'm actually rather pleased with this set and definetly going to go for it, but I'd much prefer 10-man to 25-man, since the color is alot better, :P

The 4 piece set bonus is currently bugged, while it is adding the proper amount of block value to your blocks, Shield of Righteousness will not get it's own +30% damage multiplier.

man im jujfreak from Bronzebeard 80 pali. was checking this set out. Was thinking about it and read your comment about the skirt. And im bald headed irish wish a long red gotee. I just read the comments for this set, and I would like to offer what I know.

Many religious orders, particularly in eastern Europe and the MIddle East, use a type of clothing known as a "Cassock" while acting as an agent for the church/temple/mosque.
Catholics, too, use this garb at higher levels of devotion. It's kind of a knock-off of a standard robe, just a bit more stately looking, and it still gives freedom of movement needed.

As far as it being plate... well, why not?
