WTF is this! Blizz takes away tier 3 and warriors get THIS! What kind of rip off is THAT! If they want to re-do tier 3 then do it right! No skimping on the set bonuses and NO removing pieces! What good is a raid set if the bonuses are no good for raids?

Have a look at the other recent Tier sets.

T4:
2 piece: 200 damage absorbtion when you parry. Not -great-, but not bad for an entry level set. Rarely incredible because of the low amounts of parry on T4 level gear, and 200 damage isn't very much when bosses hit you for 3-6k.
4 piece: You next damaging ability does 10% more after using Revenge. Before the implementation of Sword and Board, this was very good. If you used the rotation of Devastate Devastate Revenge Shield Slam, it would either be boosting a heroic strike or a shield slam (depending on if you were getting enough rage to spam heroic or not.) Not bad for an entry level set.

T5:
2 piece: 100 block value against a single attack. Fairly useless. It improves your shield slam if you get it off in time, but it's not that great.
4 piece: 200 haste proc, rather decent. Still, haste does very little aside from increasing TPS from heroic strikes since no abilities are on a timer.

T6:
2 piece: 170 extra health from commanding shout - a complete joke at T6 level.
4 piece: 10% extra shield slam damage: An incredibly good buff, especially with Sword and Board.

T7:
2 piece: 10% extra shield slam damage: Same as T6, which is excellent if you're a warrior tank and like building threat.
4 piece: 3 extra seconds can make the difference between that critical set of heals going off and a splatter, especially if things have gotten bad enough to need Shield Wall. EXCELLENT bonus for an intro level tiered raid set.

Don't tell me that T7 is crap because it doesn't compare to the -end game, most difficult raid- set bonuses from back before we had 41 point talents, please.

in fact, let's take a look at that mythical T3 set bonus you keep going on about.

2 pieces: Increases the damage done by your Revenge ability by 75. A flat increase of 75. Not very useful, all told.
4 pieces: Improves your chance to hit with Taunt and Challenging Shout by 5%. - OMG SO AWESOME! Oh wait. Chance to hit with taunt? Stack some damn hit rating.
6 pieces: Improves your chance to hit with Sunder Armor, Devastate, Heroic Strike, Revenge, and Shield Slam by 5%. Raid buffs, raid auras, and hit rating on gear. Not reeeeally needed. You miss so little that no one's ripping threat due to the tank's abilities missing. The one ability that you absolutely do not want to miss, shield bash, the interrupt isn't affected by this.
8 pieces: When your health drops below 20%, for the next 5 seconds healing spells cast on you help you to Cheat Death, increasing healing done to you by up to 160. You take 160 additional healing. Granted back in the day, this wasn't that bad, but again... compared to 10% more damage on your highest damage ability? Compared to 3 more seconds of flat out 60% damage reduction? There is no comparison.

Tier 3 wasn't magical, and your arguments are based off of nonsense. Come back when you have actually tryed warrior tanking and realize how incredibly useful these bonuses are.

A decent starter set for heroic raids, and the hand/chest can be bought with heroic badges (albeit expensively).

2 pieces: Increases Shield Slam damage.
---Since threat is no longer such the issue it was pre-Wrath this is debatable in it's quality but it is still threat. But for the pessimistic among you since 3.0 prot warriors now do a decent % of raid dps and this will at least increase that.
---So: A good bonus but not amazing.

4 pieces: Increase Shield Wall duration by 3 seconds.
---Nowhere near as powerful as it can sound, but at least it is a useful buff.

A good set with good bonuses, don't knock it, but love it, polish it and then get it battered in by some Naxx bosses.

Now that crushing blows are removed and the warriors shield block skill has been changed, shield block RATING will be quite a valuable mitigation stat (considering: critical block, shield spec,)

Also, block does not suffer from diminishing returns like dodge/parry so it will be very valuable. (Source - Tankspot)

No longer do warriors consider block rating to be a waste (as it was before wotlk). Don't over look this warriors!

The T7 sets all display the similar doomed skull/face on the shoulder piece as well as the word "Dreadnaught" in it's name, connecting to the original T3 set, Dreadnaught's Battlegear.
