There are a huge number of quest available in the zone broken up as follows:

6 random dailies from the people in the Base Camp which are a variety of collection, kill x mobs or kill named mob. These are outside of the PvP area of the prison and can be done during a battle and whether you control Tol Barad or not as they take place on the Tol Barad Peninsula.

Also there is a weekly quest in the base Camp to get a victory in Tol Barad.

The prison area, which is the PvP portion (you only flag PvP if there is a battle going on or if you initiate combat on PvE servers, unlike Wintergrasp which is PvP all the time) there are two quest givers, one has 3 static daily quests:

Kill crocolisks for their hides - Swamp Bait
Kill Problim, wondering elite ettin (group quest) - A Huge Problem
Kill 12 left over infantry at one of the strategic sites (Slagworks, Garrison or Warden's Vigil) - The Leftovers

The other quest giver provide three quests based on a random quest zone being open after combat. The three quest zones are Cursed Depths, The Hole and D-Block and after every battle one of this is opened while the other two are locked by a gate. Also, these zone become locked 15 minutes before battle so you are ~~stuck in them~~ ported out of them if you are inside or locked out of them if you are outside.

As of this posting, you can complete all three sets of dailies for the random quest zone if you happen to get all three different ones to spawn and your faction is the one that controls Tol Barad. You can complete the set dailies during the lockout period and hand them in if the those return later on, you can not enter Tol Barad 15 minutes prior to battle as it becomes locked out as well (to both factions.)

In summary, it is possible to do up to 18 dailies in Tol Barad every day with luck and persistence. The area is on a two and half hour cycle with the battle possibly being ~~always~~ up to 30 minutes long (~~I have not seen it shorter however I am not there every time~~ - It is dependent on strategy used 15 minutes or less if towers remain intact 5 extra minutes for each tower destroyed for a maximum 30 minutes.)

6 in Tol Barad Peninsula
6 (3+3) in Baradin Hold, if you control the zone

There are 18 quests. ( I actually just did do them)

So..

Barad Peninsula: 6 quests
Baradin Hold: 6+3+3=12 (3 static + 3 random quests)(after another battle there will be 3 new random to a total of 9 random quests/day)

Total 18 quests.

This is not to be confused with the Commendations both factions have access to IN Tol Barad.

why is TB currencie flagged as PVP ?
if i look at the gear you can but with this currency i dont see a pvp thing ?
i bought the 2H sword as an upgrade for my lvl333 sword untill i got the conquest 2H but a 359 trink without any resil wont be my first choice to get rid of my 346 trink with 300 resil for pvp.
it would be cool, and i think it will be in [patch 4.06, that there is actually some pvp gear you can buy with this currency :)

As a currency there is no 999 limit like WG tokens. Beyond 1k commendations as of 2011-02-04

What they should do is have the sum of all your chars appear on all your chars. So if before patch, one char had 20 and one char had 10, both should now display 30 total. This would alleviate having to take up bag slots for them, prevent people from having to log and relog, etc.

But yes, as of this time, these units to not seem to be BOA like the patch notes of the now live patch suggested they would be.

Upon second look, it would appear that while this was in the test realm patch notes, it did not make it to the release patch notes.

Can anyone calculate how many times one has to do the dailies in order to get exalted?

the speed at which you get exalted depends on too many factors:

If you ever win Tol Barad in a given day.
How many times a day you win Tol Barad since each time opens 3 dailies randomly
If you can get all 3 different daily sets.
If you raid 10/25 Baradin Hold in a week.
If you save your commendations or spend them on more rep.

Anybody found what to do with extra commendations?

Today's 4.1 patch notes (the ones to read in the game launcher itself while the game is updating), said that Tol Barad Commendations are bound to realm (or account?) now. The patch notes on the website as of today's date make no mention of Tol Barad, though, at least not yet. I'm just curious, has anyone figured out how to transfer the commendations to other characters yet? Or know if this change is confirmed?

With the extra commendations you can buy the Tol Barad searchlight, wait for the 2 hour refund timer to run out, and then vendor them for 62g50s. So for about 2 days worth of commendations(40) you can make 62.5 gold. Down side is you can only own one of these at a time, so for those with a ton of commendations, sorry.

I think it's possible to also get more than 6 quests/day in the base camp on the penninsula like how the quests change on the southern side when you win. I had done all the quests on both sides, then came back a few hours later, and 2 more quests were available at Hellscream's Reach. Can anyone confirm or explain this?

Some additional information I have learned over the last little while, as I still do the dailies here regularly:

As of one of the patches a while ago you can now turn in the Tol'Barad Prison dailies at the base camp of your faction which allows the completion of the dailies while your faction does not control the prison area.

The random quest area inside the prison is a pretty random occurrence in general as I have see the same zone appear for 7 hours straight and other times it swaps each time. It basically does come down to being a 1 in 3 chance you will get the area you want, if you are looking for a specific area but again with persistence 18 quests are still doable (unless your faction is terrible at PvPing or this batte in particular.)

Regarding base camp dailies, the only time I can see the possibility of picking up 'extra' dailies from the 6 original ones is if you are doing this around the time the servers reset the daily counter (4am or 5am server time I believe). Every daily is an independent quest which means, if you had the quest log space, you can pickup all of the quests for the entire Tol'Barad Peninsula area over the course of several days and then do them all at once. This is not realistic even though there are 20 (21 if you include the disabled escort quest) quest as it could take a week or two to get all the quests plus you can not do much else with all those quests just sitting there.

I believe the random quest giver in the Tol'Barad prison area may actually be a different person depending on which area is open (this would make sense from a lore perspective and a game perspective too) however I have not really confirmed this as it is just not significant enough to remember. I have noticed that each quest giver at the base camp is responsible for specific mini-zones (two each by my reckoning) such that you will never see two quests from the same mini-zone on a single quest day (a quest day is server reset to server reset not a day described by the sun trajectory - unless you are a follower of the Azerothian day then that may work.)

While they are boring after doing them all more than 10 times each, much like their friends at the Argent Tournament, they are some of the best dailies to do for cash based on time required to do them. I personally can usually get 12 done in about 30 to 40 minutes even during peak times depending on distractions (mining nodes are my biggest distraction) as a ilvl 359 geared Arcane Mage.

A point for the daily quests.

It seems you can't do the quests when in a raid. So if you've just battled for Tol Barad, and accepted the daily quests, you'll have to leave the raid in order to complete them.
Just spent like 10 minutes killing a bunch on infantry to realize non of them counted.

Possible to earn 18+ commendations a day. At least one possible quest gives more than one. Not sure of the exact limits, but I will explore and try to update this comment when I figure-out. :)

I didn't see it listed, but doing the pvp battle can also earn you commendations, without the weekly quest. I had already completed the weekly, logged in to do some dailies, saw the battle was about to begin, and queued in order to speed up the battle (we were defending). After the time ran out and opposing faction failed to win, I was awarded 396 honor and 3 commendations, then another 132 honor.

Looks like in an upcoming patch, probably the 5.0 prepatch, you will be able to buy the Fox Kit with these, 200 of them.

According to the image that was also provided in his Tweet, this pet will require an exalted reputation with either Hellscream's Reach or Baradin's Wardens. It will cost 200 Tol Barad Commendation and be Bind on Pick Up.
