The ice patches mentioned in this achievement are spawned almost continuously at the boss' feet if it's not standing in one, meaning the monstrosity can't be moved out of the first ice patch it creates.

However, as long as it's standing in the ice patch, the patch will grow until it eventually encompasses the entire room, (Like the Lich King's Defile, but slower) so the boss needs to be killed before then.

I highly, HIGHLY recommend guilds do this for any and all 25man kills.

It sounds stupid, I know. But, the lightning jumps in phase 3 are a ton of damage and having to move constantly drops your raid DPS. The puddle ticks for barely any damage at all, and you have enough space to spread out so the lightning never jumps. The fight is thoroughly simplified by saying "Oh, screw it. Strategies are for cowards, just burn him down."

Note that there's a fairly nasty bug here, once the ice patch gets to the steps, it carries on expanding but you cannot see the graphic (the steps look like they are clear) -- you will still die if you're on the steps at this point.

My guild (10N) found that we would get Monstrosity to about 9% by the time the patch filled the entire room, so we move up onto the stairwell and all die to chain lightning (best attempt was 3% with that strat). The conventional strat worked no problem (describe a circle of small ice patches with ranged at 8yd separation inside it)

Me and my guild recently got this like 2 days ago and I personally solo tanked the 10 man version and easily got the achievement without anyone dying. Granted I have solo tanked Omnitron so this was a cake walk to tank.

The only hard part now is the pulling in P3: the tank needs to be in the middle before the phase starts. Note also that if the tank is exactly on the monstruosity, it will move back and pop 2 pools, so you want to be in front of the boss, like 2-3 yards away.

Then don't move and just nuke it down.
