Yes, you "can" three man it.

Given that you have the following:

two friends that can tank/dps/heal. (whatever you need in your group)
These friends should ideally be level 80 and not want any of the materials that you need.
And like I stated before, you may need your friends for multiple runs, especially if you're starting from scratch.

So if you have friends like that, then yes, this is a walk in the park, a slow one at that.

Ignore the fact that you can three-man Molten Core for the Bindings and the Eye.

So yes, I did actually ignore that fact.

All you need is a raid group and your "companion" can be anywhere else.

True. I personally make a trial account, create a character, and then group with that. It's handy because i can simply "force close" WoW on the trial character (i.e. closing it manually, rather than using the "Exit game" option), and then the character will be disconnected, but i can still go into raid instances without issue. When the trial account expires, if i want to enter raids still, i simply create a new trial account, and do the same again. This way, i don't bother guildies, friends, and it's simple if i need to leave the raid group to quest, and then rejoin without bothering people.

I only really use it for soloing raids and bosses that i know i can manage, and there's no other real benefit other than what i mentioned here.

i love this sword and i farming every weekend and after 8 months only have the binding of garr me now have 10k or revered with hydraxian waterlords and dont will stop at last have my thunderfury. But farm the elementium ores of bwl is more harder why need friends for kill the first bosses while baron i kill alone.
pd: in the new expansion bosses of ragnaros and nefarian will come in new raids for lvl 85 and mabye will remove this bosses of will do with onyxia in 3.2.2

So yeah, I finished this quest as a druid today and didn't get the achieve. What the hell is this. I've even seen other druids with the achieve. : /

I do see people were quoting to an outdated version of the achievement.Unfortunately it does require 'Wielder of the Thunderfury - wielding does mean equipping

now to wait that Shamans and Druids can use swords!

Classes who cant wield swords arent getting their achievements for obtaining a legendary sword...Ghastly, simply ghastly! Im sure there should be an achievement for those who complete it and use Thunderfury as a coat rack.

We aren't removing MC or BWL as of this writing. We aren't going out of our way to remove old legendaries. The only risk there in a case like Thunderfury is if we change a zone like Silithus so much that the quests become hard to keep intact.

i agree with the basis that legendaries should be equipped in the case of the others that drop from raid bosses and can be handed around the raid, but this one requires a lot of time and dedication on part of at least 1 person to obtain, this and sulfuras should have feat of strengths for obtaining, but the others from illidan/kil'jaeden be required to be equipped

as it is i'm trying to get this just for the sake of owning it :)

I'm not sure if there are other warlocks with this but as a warlock i can confirm you wont get the achievement unless you equip it.

Lucky lucky me, few months ago, i got both of the bindings, one in one run, and one in the other.

The HARDEST part was the, which we call now, Elementium Ingot, which was Elementium ore before the Cata patch.

Last tuesday I went into MC as usual, running through the bosses as usual... But then it happened. I got my second binding from Garr! I went into a state of satisfaction of wich i've never felt before.
I pressed on, looking in my bags through the entire time. Then... As I killed Ragnaros... Yeah, you geussed it right, the Eye dropped too! I bow down to the WoW-gods, and thank them.

Anyway, what I wanted to say was that, for the guild achievement, you don't need to wear the item, but for the Feat of Strength you need to be able to equip it.

Conclusion, if you're after the Guild Achievement, ANYONE in the guild can get it, if you're after the Feat of Strength, only those who CAN EQUIP the item can get it.

After debating with guildies about if its possible to get more bindings even after completed the legendary, I got myself a second set of bindings on my mage. Now to confirm if I can redo the quest to make another thunderfury and at least sell it to someone since the drop from the Elemental boss can be looted by anyone =)

My shaman has one, just in case they ever give em the ability to use swords. Got the bindings to drop farming MC for rep, so figured why the hell not?

Look in the armory for Saate in a worgen druid from Aman'Thul US who have the achivement, so i belive if he have the achivement any class can have it , if dont blizz is just @$!#ing with the players
