There's a good chance that like the winter holiday pets, they're bind on use, and can be sold, mailed, and such.

That way, each of your characters could get one, then give them all to the same character if you wanted.

Well, since one of the achievements require you to kill an end-boss in a lvl80 instance, you can take your guess ;)

To obtain one of these pets, complete the following quests given by your orphan (this is the Azeroth version, thanks AnrDaemon for posting the Outlands version below):

The quest, A Warden of the Alliance becomes available after completing You Scream, I Scream... & Jaina's Autograph. You can choose one of the pets as the reward for this quest

If you have turned it both Shattrath and Org/SW orphans, but forgot to complete achievements, you can still ask the NPC to give you another Orphan Whistle

Wanna check one thing here.
I have this achivement done and i am certain i have done it every year up to now.
Memory aint the best but i am a quest freak and have done all there is and doing any new coming quests aswell.

Now for my "question". How can i have this done but in the Veteran nanny Achivement i have none of the pets needed from the earlier years?

For the 2009 Children's Week event, I would suggest everyone not to pick the piglet pet as a reward due to the recent swine flu outbreak. If you must, wear a mask.

Changed in 3.3 to include the Northrend pets it seems.
