You will see 3 sparkly, orange items in a triangle formation surrounding the coffer (In front of the quest giver). Just approach and right click them to set the signals.

After getting the quest, turn around, the location of the flare positions are on the same building you are standing on. For those that like coords:

West 31.4, 30.8

Look for three little red wire-frames on the ground and click them, it will place the flare automatically so no need to track the quest.

Each is about 30 feet away from the coffer and can be a little hard to see in bright light.

Ok guys, I just dont recommend to do this chain quest if you are a farmer because the part in the map"Cradle of the Ancients" will change a lot and all Herbs and mines in a really big Area will disappear, Hope programers Fix this fast!

Today the phasing bugged while I was doing this and there were lots of very aggressive mobs (Schnotzz infantryman as well as snakes, 84s) hanging around the flares. That's never happened before, so I'm not sure if it's new and working as intended or if it really is a bug.

There was nothing that sparkled for me, they were just reddish objects on the ground that looked like they were very faint, kinda like when you are in stealth mode. Just click them.

for those of you confused, it's called Three If By Air because in the poem Paul Revere's Ride, Paul Revere's men were to place three lanterns in the belfry tower if the British were coming by sea, and two if they were coming by land.
