You need to kill Silty Oozelings Until the Dumpy Level drops.
The drop rate is rather low.

Very frustrating quest to say the least based on how low the drop rate is on these things. I killed over 20 of them and got nothing - I did manage to get the 15 fenberries I needed on another quest because this one is taking so long that I can keep going back to the same bushes I picked a few minutes earlier, so it's not all bad.

To be fair, I looked it up as well.

Well of course! It says right in the quest instructions, "Go look it up!" Anyone who didn't, failed to follow the instructions. ;)

That said, he lies. Not about the name, but he said one of the oozes took it. I killed all of them, and none of them had it. I eventually abandoned the quest. I suspect he pawned it off to buy ale and doesn't want to admit it...

I didn't name the bloody thing, alright? Go look it up! All I did was leave it on a rock long enough for one of those horrible oozes to swallow it up. The place is crawling with 'em, but one of them should still have it inside.]
