After a bad pull and many members dead I sent my pet in to see if it will set off the arcane explosion. For the 10 sec that i was alive after that my pet didnt take any arcane damage. Was wondering if anyone else has tried this, for a pet on the pallie seems to take a lot of damage.

For several months, we would pull Zerevor with a paladin leading the way with Divine Shield, while a mage followed right behind him to Spellsteal near the bottom of the stairs. This worked quite safely and reliably.

Then one day, Zerevor decided he'd simply keep running out of line of sight if the pally bubbled. So, we decided to try the standard mage bop pull. Zerevor stood in place, and I managed to steal in time (before any client-server lag ended up killing me with an unmitigated blast despite Spellsteal succeeding).

Unfortunately the next reset, Zerevor decides to path erratically even with the mage bop pull! So, I had to blink to the top of the stairs to ensure I'd have line of sight for Spellsteal. Very risky as I would be out of range/sight for heals until running quickly back down the stairs. It was the only way we could do the pull while he felt like running around for no apparent reason. Of course, this was also the first week ever for us that the initial steal was resisted despite being arcane hit-capped, but that's a different story...

It looks like Dampen Magic can be removed by a Hunter's Arcane Shot.

There is currently a bug that can be experienced by the Mage tank: at times, a spellstolen Dampen Magic does not prevent 75% of incoming magical damage (as the tooltip states). If you find this happened to your mage tank, tell them to put their own Dampen Magic on before every pull in addition to spellstealing the one off High Nethermancer Zerevor. The two buffs stack, and for some reason (which has something to do with spell overrides) the bug is prevented from occurring.

Mages can use amplify magic to displace the debuff on healing from the dampen magic. Since his dampen magic uses a percentage (75%), the base value of extra damage you take from amplify magic is overridden by his dampen magic; in other words you still take the same amount of damage. You displace roughly half of the debuff (Debuffs 500 healing while amplify magic gives 240) and thus makes it easier for the healer.

It´s simple, a mage is supposed to tank this, because if the mage spellsteal the mage will only take 25% of the dmg from the spells and that is easy to heal up. Otherwise he will get hit by 12-15k arcane bolt

Someone should fix that typo in Blizzard, I'm pretty sure it doesn't deal over 43 million damage every 2 seconds.

And his clothes do look kinda like plate, especially his legs. Though they are not plate, of course.
