If you only have one glyph slot left and are trying to decide whether to use this or Glyph of Siphon Life, this glyph should provide a slightly better DPS increase (for Afflic locks).

Based on the numbers provided by many min/max warlocks, this is a must have for any raiding spec.

My question is, does this glyph affect the damage of Conflag now that conflag does the 15 sec duration of Immolate. I'm skeptical b/c this seems like an easy thing to screw up.

SO, is it JUST periodic damage? or the periodic part of the spell? See what I'm saying? I'm wondering where it calculates the glyph. At the time it ticks? or on the spell itself?

This is likely to be the 3rd "must-have" glyph for destruction warlocks in patch 3.3.5 due to Immolate's DoT now critting.

Does this affect Immolation Aura (Metamorphosis)? I wouldn't think that it does, but Recount lists Immolation Aura as simply "Immolation" so that made me wonder.

In Mists of Pandaria this glyph has changed.

OLD: Glyph of Immolate - Increases the periodic damage of your Immolate by 10%.
NEW: Glyph of Dark Soul - While off cooldown, your Dark Soul ability passively grants you 10% of the active effect, but reduces the power of Dark Soul by 10%.

The following applies to MoP.
This glyph is a gain if Dark Soul is used less than once per 200 seconds (<3min 20sec).

While it may seem like this glyph is a waste, keep in mind that it could come out ahead on a fight with a "vulnerable" phase that would encourage you to delay Dark Soul. Alternately, alligning it with another long cooldown spell/proc could achieve higher overall dps.
