my best guess for the reference is that the devs have been watching too much TV again

C.S.'EYE' = C.S.I

and when i looked up csi it turns out that one of the main chars had been shot in the eye

It's the eye of Cedric Stumpel who has gotten into some trouble with the captain of the ship he WORKED on. According to Mariner's Log he propably got killed for stealing rum.

Actually it would make sense that the initials stand for Captain Sanders as he is a pirate and probly lost this at sea. Which explains fishing connection....
