One of the coolest trinkets I've seen

Uses the same in-game animation as the summoning of a warlock's Infernal. The damage this trinket puts out can be enhanced by +spell damage/+fire damage gear.

This has about a .2% chance to drop off of AQ 40-man trash mobs. I hope to get level 70 and 5-man grind these guys for the trinket ^^ Just for the coolness factor.

Unless this was nerfed, it is 100% affected by spell damage. Best I can figure from what I've seen in videos, it runs roughly 70% coefficient. Note, however, the damage is dispersed amungst all targets. So, if it will deal 1000 damage to a single target, it will deal 500 each to 2 targets.

I keep getting conflicted information about this trinket. No doubt this is the craziest and coolest looking trinket I've seen.

However I keep hearing that it is and that it is not affected by +spell dam. and +fire dam.

I really want to know before i go balls to the wall to get this thing. If it does affect it, wats the coefficients for it?

i cant really take the vid to heart and figure it out the damage, cause it's like a highlight reel - it might not be consistent. I did see it hit 565(i think), however, which suggests that it possibly could = . I don't kno what Dernos's +spell damage tho, so i cant measure up anything.

also that vid is b4 TBC so i could have been changed within that time.

If i don't get a response, ill come back once i got it and tested it out for a bit.

ha ha.... i still see 70's running with the six demon bag.. its not bad and with the damage you can "add" to it with +spell dmg.. makes it a trinket that grows with ya.. i can only expect that this trinket.. as outdated as it may be .. Use to be the Best you could get.. I wouldnt mind grabbing one myself.

Although there are trinkets which have much better function at 70 this would still be fun as a demoralizing finisher in pvp just like the Vanquished Tentacle of C'Thun. The intimidation factor of dropping a meteor on an opponent would be awesome.

My pala friend had this, and for the 4 weeks where retribution kicked ass, (with crusader strike being implamented through patch right before TBC) he kicked ass every day outside Ironforge. It was nerfed rather quickly though, due to it's scaling with spellpower, and hiting for 1/4 of most pvp'ers health. To this day it's still a kickass item, though it won't do alot of dmg, still a complete showoff!

Can anybody confirm if this still drops? People have been farming the instance but I haven't heard of anybody getting it.

This still drops. I won the roll for it earlier tonight, patch 3.1.1. <Spooky Action> cleared AQ40 this evening on Zangarmarsh for our weekly 'old school' raid night.

It has an extremely low drop rate, so it wouldn't be surprising if no one else has managed to see it drop in the short couple of weeks since the last patch, especially given AQ40 is not being cleared by many on a regular basis.

Pretty useless trinket without spell power scaling. If Blizz hadn't fix it, it could scale like: orig. WoW - ~500 spell power = 600-700 damage(nice for that time), TBC - ~1000 spell power = 1000-1200(also quite fine) and now in WotLK it could be like +2000 SP = ~2400 damage. Not that much but still could have done some harm. It would never be OP with even 100% scaling. Now it's just a waste of time to grind it for the sake of awesomeness.

A fun trinket, although not really that useful for killing anything bigger than a critter. It does seem to get quite a reaction out of people though. Nothing like having a huge meteor crash into a few critters out of nowhere.

Useless because it doesn't scale with spell power? It still summons a meteor! Sure it may not be useful for combat, but the on use effect gives you +9001 awesome rating.

Not really useful PvE-vice since what above poster says is true, damage (400-425) is divided among all the mobs near you. Maybe useful against zerg caps in Arathi Basin xD

Unless I'm missing something Ramstein's Lightning Bolts are as good if not better then this trinket.
atleast Ramstains is capable of doing alot more dmg (lol is u use it in SM after killing herord when a bunch of mobs run down, u can 1 shot all of them at the same time by using Ramstein's Lightning Bolts, it ends up dealing over 4000 dmg).
But I'm sure this is like Halberd of Smiting for Pallys when with one of their abilities they are able to make the Proc dmg higher.
I think it might be the same for this trinket with some ability ( my bet would be something a shammy would have) you would be able to increas the dmg of the lightning, and if you could make it hit for 700/800 it would not be a bad trinket att all to use agains a single opponent.

If there is nothing more to this trinket then displayed however, I'd say it's a total peice of crap.

this item is not intended to be used as AOE, because the dmg is devided almong every mob/player in range, so hitting 10 skellies at the same time would deal 40 dmg to each one, which would be unimportant.

This trinket is most likly intented to dela significant dmg to a single target with help of fire dmg gear or a certain ability one class posses.

Weather or not this is useful, it's still badass because if you use this on un-suspecting people, they will just go WTF?

Please think. I have 8/8 judge 1h off neph and red dragonscale protector. I crit well over 1500 with this trinket when it procs. I have killed groups of horde. It is and always will be one of the best pally trinkets i have ever seen. Would evan work great for shaman. Please think before you type

i still want it tho. The visual is very aesthetically pleasing

I also would like to pose the quest as mrkaasa did: waht else is it affected by? (i.e.: +fire damae, +arcane damage, etc.)

In AB, near a flag, there will usually be 5 ppl defending. thats 80 to roughly 87 dmg per person which isnt much, but it could be helpful if it hits stealthed ppl.. say if u used it near u, would it hit any1 stealthed in area for 400 dmg? that would be nice

Edit: btw, for AoE against many mobs, Ramsteins is much better

I got one of these just to goof aorund with and would like to clarify:

1st, the Graphics is awesome, Giant meteor Falls out of sky an leave a temporary searing crater.

2nd, it can crit, Mine has crit for 964.

3rd, it does seem to be effected by damage gear. I'm a warrior but since I hit rank 14 I had the staff to test it out with and with the staff it was hitting for harder than its max dmg.

4th, the aoe effect is divided. If for people are standing in the small rnage, it will divide the dmg among the 4, I.E. If it crit for 800, it would hit all of them for 200.

5th, It is instant cast and has a 35 yard range.

The aoe is nothing special but a 900 crit on single person is not exactly ignorable. In the end however, I really just got this for fun. I don't use it instances and only use it in duels when I'm goofing around with people.

3. When a duel finishes, and one of the ppl is at 1%, use the trinket on them
4. Vanish

This is actually affected by spell damage, but it follows the same rules as something like arcane explosion. It's instant, and AoE, so it gains around 14.3% of your +dmg.

So basically, it's not worth it.

The bolts from Ramstein do 200 or 300 per mob and it's not dilluted if there's a large number of mobs. So if you were in the middle of 15+ adds, it would hit them all for that amount almost instantly. With only a 5 minute cooldown.

For this to be epic, it's got to at least hit that hard and it doesn't. The only thing it has going for it is the 3 minute cooldown vs Ramstine's 5. If what people are saying about this trinket is that it gets dilluted over a large group, it's better off as a Nexus crystal.

Just a good item to mess around with, 3min cooldown is also pretty cool.

NOTE: Damage increased against mobs that are vunerable to fire. It HIT a Wyrmguard in BWL (One of the SWK's) for 1400, Non-Crit. So imagine how high I can get with it if it was a crit. (2800 I know but taking into account it's only happened once for me)

All the way through AQ pre 1.12 never had one drop.

First time in AQ afterwards 2 drop from the first 2 warder packs.

It's instant cast, 3 minute cooldown. And yes the damage spreads the more mobs in range. It can also crit, but don't know if it's affected by crit gear or damage gear (unlikely). Looks pretty cool when used.

even tho its noting special to ppl, i would find it quiet usefull in pvp. especialy as something to get off quick. stun then, judge SoC, divine favor then holy shock them, throw down a meteor and throw a hammer at them and there down. yah only around 400 but u have to look at it like the average person has around 3-3.5 thousand hp. thats the AVERAGE. it can do some damage if u think about it.

The area is like 5yd of radius, the trinket got 30yd of range (tested with Hammer of Wrath, got the same range); and yes, hits for 400-442 dmg and crits for 800-884 (it doesnt make more damage when having spell dmg gear... tested with a difference of 300+ spell dmg and does the same amount of dmg).

i'm paladin with +310dmg (+280 on zandalarian on = 590)and NEVER got any number over the 442. I used it tons of times so i'm pretty sure of this.

In classic Era this item does not scale with spellpower or firepower, and also splits the damage dealt between targets. Just like a meteor casted by Anubisath Guardians in AQ20/AQ40, except with very low damage.

That is to say the trinket is very weak and hardly worth using. The best use would be bursting someone down in PVP, but there are so many better trinkets available for that.
