If you are looking for the remoras look at the big stones,
the once you did the seahorse quest. Under there they swarm.

If your playing the release version of the quest that starts out: "Use the oil extrusion pumps on the corpses...."

swim out of the cave, up the cliff , directly on top of where the cave is, and everything you need is in that area.

kill it, use thing of a ma jig..

If youre looking for the remoras look at the ceiling of the mushroom like corals... Theyre stuck up there doing god knows what.

Just submitted a screen shot for those that aren't sure what your looking for they can be found under the cliff edges of the questing area floating up against the bottom side of the kelp cliffs they are a long gray fish hope this helps

Everything is right above the cave, just swim up when you exit.
Hammerheads are the sharks, remoras are like dolphins, and the terrapin are the sea turtles.

The remoras hug the mushroom like coral a lot, so watch out for them there.. they're a yellow mob.

The hammerheads and terrapin just roam around!

yep, they're under "mushroom", they're not aggressive so look carefull for them

Leatherworkers:
In order to skin any of these mobs for leather, you need to:
LOOT
OIL PUMP
SKIN
in that order. if you oil pump first, the corpse will disappear after you loot it, and you will lose the leather.

Terrapin Oil: From the Big sea turtles which are yellow to everyone. (Seabrush Terrapin)

Remora Oil: From the fish stationary underneath the structures with the coral reefs on top. (Scourgut Remora) These also are NOT aggressive.

Hammerhead Oil: From Spinescale Hammerheads these are aggressive.

Because nobody has added a Component List yet, I thought I'd add mine.

I had to conjure a fuel out of:

2x Remora Oil
3x Hammerhead Oil

For it to be succesfull.

If this does not work for you, do not fear. The quest giver tells you each and every time what it needs more/less of each time you turn in the fuel.

Okay, for those of you who can't mount, just swim up to Korthun's End. It'll let you mount there.
Not entirely sure why it doesn't work around Darkbreake Cove

Additionally, while you are doing "Bio-Fuel", also kill the humanoid NPC's "Hellscream Seadogs" in the same area as they drop another quest, "Claim Korthun's End" which requires you to kill 7 Seadogs which gives you 27985 XP and at 83 it gave me 7g80s as well.

Something odd seems to be happening atm. I only needed the hammerheads but they never counted when extracting the oil, I eventually got fed up and so abandoned the quest. Now I need the Remora oil only and they are not counting although the sharks were fine 2nd time. If I abandon, I fear that i'll go through it all again and end up with one of them not counting again :(
At this rate i'll ding 85 just trying to get oils :P

Ok abandoned and retaken again - 3rd times a charm huh - now the hammerheads are not counting again but turtles and remora are fine /sigh

doh !

Guide to Vashj'ir Abyssal Depths Alliance quests:

The entire Vashj'ir line starts in Stormwind with Call of Duty.
The immediate pre-requisite to this chain is Full Circle from
Shimmering Expanse.

At any time, kill a Hellscream Seadog to get Claim Korthun's End.

[Submarine fuel is expensive!

The powers-that-be in Gnomeregan were generous enough to deliver several fuel barrels, but we're burning through it faster than expected. That means we're going to need to improvise.

It's a well-known fact that sea creatures are full of all kinds of interesting chemicals... like oil. Take this device up to Kothrun's End and stick it into the corpses of terrapins, remoras, and hammerhead sharks. If we don't get more submarine fuel, their oil might be our only hope.]
