These guys are right around the gorge and have a nasty knockback. Be careful of your positioning; they're very capable of knocking you off the ledge to your death.

In both the initial text and the completion text, Jadrag says the giants on the other side of the gorge are much tougher. Frosthagelrieses and Frosthagelbewahrers used to be elite and a little higher level (archived information here), but have been nerfed, apparently to make Tobende Riesen easier. Now they are at the same level as Frosthagelkippers and no longer elite, so at first glance what Jadrag says seems to be out of date. The "adult" giants still start out with much more HP than the Tumblers and they were considerably more work for my Shammy take down, though. Other than hunters trying to farm Tollwütiger Splitterzahn, there isn't much of a reason to go to the other side, and it's not easy to do if your character can't fly yet.

[My mysterious benefactors gave me more than one task. The second task took me farther south, to the Frostwhisper Gorge. I was surprised to learn that the gorge's bridge had been broken in two, preventing land travel from one side to the other.

In addition, the juvenile Frostmaul tumblers were separated from their stronger adult parents. I thought that I could defeat them in battle.

I was incorrect. I was forced to run away in shame.
