This is the starting zone for the Night Elf race. Characters start in Shadowglen.
Darnassus, the capital city for Night Elves, is located in the western part of this zone.
A unique feature of this zone is that it is devoid of mineral deposits.

Teldrassil was meant to be the next Nordrassil, which was the World Tree at Hyjal, and was destroyed at the end of the third war. It was planted on the island of Kalidar, where it took over most of the island, where only the tree stump stands today.
Unfortunately, Fandrel Staghelm who is the arch druid, and other druids planted the tree to try and regain their immortality.
The broze dragons, which were supposed to bless Teldrassil thought it was selfish of the druids to try and reclaim their immortality and didn't bless the tree. So, it and the creatures upon it grew corrupt without nature's blessing.

Teldrassil Lore
Off Kalimdor's northern coast lies the island of Teldrassil, the new home of the reclusive Night Elves and a stunning testament to the power of their magic and their connection with nature. After the cataclysmic events that followed the invasion of the Burning Legion, the Circle of Ancients and powerful druids combined their powers to grow an immense new world tree on Teldrassil. They called the tree Teldrassil, meaning "crown of the earth" in their native tongue. The night elves made their new home in the boughs of Teldrassil, creating a forest of mighty trees and flowing rivers, bathed in the endless night that fell over the lands of the elves from the dawn of time. However, the calm of the enchanted forest has slowly fallen into the shadow of a sinister presence. Crazed furbolgs and fouler beasts have appeared in Teldrassil, and it occupies all the attention of the vigilant Sentinels and the wise druids to ensure the safety of their new home.
A sprawling city of moonstone and wood, the night elf capital of Darnassus stands as a shining beacon atop Teldrassil. Within its mighty walls are housed countless druids, hunters, and warriors, led by the priestess of Elune, Tyrande Whisperwind. A stunning marvel to the ability of night elven craftsmen, the ethereal Temple of the Moon rises above the tree line, balanced by the druids' meticulously cultivated meditative grove. Trade from the main continent bustles through the city's trade quarter, where night elves, dwarves and humans alike haggle for wares and services. Delicate bridges and pathways crisscross the serene waterways of the city, the pristine waters reflecting the glowing light from the moons above.

Teldrassil and Nordrassil are probably references to Yggdrasil of Norse mythology (possibly in combination of Norse and Yggdrasil = Nordrassil).
Yggdrasil in Norse mythology was the world tree that was supposed to connect the universe and it's 9 realms. In Teldrassil, as well as Nordrassil / Mount Hyjal, one encounters a great tree.
Just food for thought :)

The island of Teldrassil is covered in forest, in which reside the peaceful Night Elves. The Night Elves live in large trees usually, with the occasional house. Recently, corruption has afflicted the forests. Furbolgs have lost their minds in a blood frenzy. Animals are turning hostile. Timberlings have lost their peaceful nature and are intolerant toward Night Elves. The once-peaceful land is being overwhelmed with corruption, so of course it is packed with quests for the new adventurer.
Points of interest:
Shadowglen- Where all new recruits begin their journey.
Dolanaar- A small village along the road where more quests await.
Starbreeze Village- Another small village, now infested with wild Furbolgs.
Rut'Theran Village- Yet another village, only accessible using the portal in Darnassus. Has a dock with a boat leading to Auberdine, as well as a Hippogryph Master.
Darnassus- The capital city of the Night Elves. Split into Terraces, as well as the Temple of the Moon. Has a portal that brings you to Rut'Theran Village.

(4.0.3 Edit):
So I'm not sure why I suddenly got negative marks on this post, especially as this was made when patch 2.4.3 was out. I will update it for patch 4.0.3 but I will also retain the older version for the sake of comparison :).
Tips for Horde trying to get in (Patch 4.0.3):
If you have a flying mount and are able to fly around the classic areas, then fly from
anywhere near Lor'Danel in Darkshore
, towards the Northwest. Orient yourself so that your arrow on your map is pointed towards some of the nearby islands of Teldrassil. Once the water stops being infinitely deep and there are signs of land, you will lose fatigue (you should only be fatigued for 10 seconds at the most at 280% speed).
CLASSIC/OUTDATED:
Tips for Horde trying to get in:
When I first started the WoW trial I was a NE priest, and later on moved onto horde. Feeling a bit homesick I decided to try and go out to Teldrassil on my 66 Tauren Hunter. Just thought I'd share this for any other horde members wanting to invade or just explore and have fun.
STEPS:
First thing's first: Fly to Zoramgar Outpost. If you don't have the FP for it, just hop over to Splintertree post and walk West, or head to Crossroads and walk North.
Second: Head west of Astranaar and north towards Darkshore.
Take the road up and ride to Auberdine. As you pass near the edges you should see the port, and some pathways over the water. These are the ports for the ships that will take you to Teldrassil and other places.
Get to the ports and RUN past the guards. They are only level 40/45 but if you don't want to get flagged, then avoid combat. They won't hurt and usually will ignore you once you're far away, just like any other mob. The boat to Teldrassil should be on the right (purple-ish color).
Enjoy the boat ride over for a brief moment, but as you turn up at the port, jump into the water and head west a teeny bit. You should be able to see the pink portal leading into Darnassus.
Run into the portal, there are 4 guards watching over it and you'll be facing more enemies once you enter, so best just to make your life easier.
Once you are through the portal, you should be in Darnassus (the main city in Teldrassil). Immediately you will have guards on your tail, so run, jump into the lake, feign death (if you're a hunter like me), or anything else to avoid them or if you feel like, take them on.
Watch out for ally level 70 players in Darn as well as level 65 guards and high level elite guards.
The exit should be to the north. Find your way out or stay. The exit is guarded by 2 level 65 guards and there's 1 patrol that comes up on the pathway.
ENJOY! Head over to the NE starting area and mess with the newbies. I was running around killing boars and cats and stuff and this Level 4 NE druid happened to see me. He started attacking me (I was flagged for killing a level 65 guard) and I decided to dance to mock him. I ended up dismounting and having my pet cat dash up and claw him (since he was on defense). He went down in 1 shot and I couldn't stop laughing. It's awesome.
Hope that helps! :)

One little blind spot I've found, I have a lvl 60 night elf hunter and I noticed this, there is a little shack right above the entrance to Darnassus from the Teldrassil side. Yes, you'll have to fight your way to it and everything but it is a kewl view lol.

Although Teldrassil is a giant tree (
concept art
), Blizzard cut corners when designing it. The player is meant to believe they are in the boughs of the tree, when in actuality Teldrassil is a large stump.

Tbh, the easiest way off them all to get into teldrassil is to run through darnassus, as long as you can outrun/defeat the 2 lvl 75 guards you automaticly pull when using the teleport it is a piece of cake. Just avoid the other guards and go to the middle of Darnassus and then go east, through Warrior's Terrace and you are done.

I'm not so sure teldrassil is actually so much of a stump than the boughs. I mean, branches are typically found near the top of a trunk right? So... If you have ever fallen off of teldrassil (I know I have a lot) you will see or even land on a branch. I'm guessing that the area we are In is actually smack dab in the middle of a bunch of branches in the center of the tree at the top. So we truely are in the boughs of the tree, and the tree is very tall with plenty of branches, we are just in the middle of the boughes.

Then look at the majestic nightsaber take a nap on the lush soft grass. In the evening have a walk into Darnassus and behold the glorious Darnassian architecture.

If you're looking to explore this as Horde (as of Cata launch) you can just hop on your flying mount while in Darkshore and fly to Teldrassil. You will make it there well before you die of fatigue.

Didn't there used to be a tool to help with exploration? I'm pretty sure it was on thottbot, but since you merged, i can't find it on either site. The tool I'm looking for is the one where you can look on the map and it would show the general vicinity of the different locations needed to get the achievement. You could also make your own maps and put your own markers on the map, where ever you like.

Notes for Horde Tourists
How to trip to Teldrassil and Isles? Simple: I flied with my mount from Lor'Danel in Darkshore over the low waters west of city. Heading Nortwest you arrive at Rut'heran village before fatigue kills you.
From there enter Teldrassil simply flying very high near the big tree until you find the zone border.
From Rut'heran simply jump on the boat at west pier and it will take you at Azuremist Isle. Bloodmist Isle is near at North.
Useful for "Extinguishing Kalimdor" achievement...
Note: At isles you cannot use flying mounts, only mounts or feet
评论来自
Voxol
VERY easier way to reach the island than all the above if you are on cataclysm. Simply reach Lor'danel (the little alliance city in Darkshore) and fly over the sea. Even with the slower flying mount you will reach Teldrassil before that the fatigue meter reach the half.

For Horde trying to enter Teldrassil for their exploration achievement:
It is possible to do this without dying!
However, you DO have to be level 60 or higher, since flying is key to achieving this. I figured this out while mulling over going through the portal on my lvl 66 rogue, fully aware that doing so meant certain death...then I remembered the time when I fell off Teldrassil on one of my Nelf alts...Teldrassil isn't an instance when you go through the portal in Rut'theran...it really is on top of that stump, and believe me, falling off proved it.
SO! My method is this:
1) Do as directed by LurkerPatrol...take the flightpath to either Zoram'gar Outpost, or if you don't mind flying over mountains, you can fly to Whisperwind Grove in Felwood; then fly your way to Lor'danel.
2) Stop at the bit of land that goes furthest in the direction of Teldrassil on your map, right before you get to Lor'danel...then fly your way in the direction of Teldrassil. You will likely reach shallow water right as your fatigue bar is halfway empty.
3) If you stayed on track, you should be able to see Rut'theran Villiage just a little northwest of you as you approach. Straight ahead of you should be one of the roots connected directly to the tree. Go to that root and stop to take a breath if you want...Once you're ready, follow the root to the base of the tree...then start flying up!
4) Once you've made your way up(Trust me, it takes longer to fly up Hyjal than to scale Teldrassil), you should be south of Lake Al'Ameth. If you don't have the entire area of Teldrassil already on your map, go ahead and explore! If you're like me and only have to explore Darnassus, take a breath and move on.
5) Head east, passing over Gnarlpine Hold, passing over the mountains until you see a little lake with a dock and a boat on it. Once you pass over this, you'll be in Darnassus territory(and thus flagged). Do NOT enter the city. INSTEAD, follow the edges of the tree as you pass into the Darnassus boarders. You will first discover Tradesmen's Terrace...then The Temple Gardens as you pass around the back of the Temple of the Moon. Once you make your way around the Temple, you'll see the pink portal...if you continue to follow the edges of the tree, and skirt your way into the Darnassus territory, you SHOULD gain your Explore Teldrassil achievement right here.
6) Take a moment to pat yourself on the shoulder for a sneaky job well done, then drop out of the Darnassus territory, and then find yourself a nice branch to perch on until your PVP timer runs out, then you're free to go!
I know I did this as a rogue, but I assure you I did none of it under stealth. I simply skirted the boarder on my flying mount until I got my achievement. I didn't even see any of the flying Sentinels, and think I was in a place where I wouldn't be noticed at all by players.
Anyway, there you go! How to get into Teldrassil without dying! Sorry for those under 60...I wish I could tell you how to get it other than saying wait until you get your flying mount, but unfortunately I can't think of any way other than getting completely bombarded and dying a million times by the guards.

Post for the Horde.
Is it just me or does the Horde have a big disadvantage when it comes to cities and defenses?
Darnassus unless you are at the least level 70 your mount flies way to slow to prevent you from dieing from fatigue. You must catch a ride from a boat in Stormwind!
The Exodar the only way to get here if you are below 70 is to catch a ride on a boat from SW to Darnasssus and then catch another boat to Azuremyst Isle.
All original Horde starting cities can be gotten to by land. Silvermoon City can also be gotten to by land.
This makes trying to get achievements requiring you to go to an Alliance city nearly impossible to do below level 70 for the Horde.

Ok so, I tried to find a way for Horde players that dont have Cataclysm expansion and looking to complete the
探索卡利姆多
achievement and im glad to say that I found one!
Here is the prerequisites for getting to teldrassil as a horde player:
-
中级骑术
, need to be atleast at Lvl. 40.
-
水上行走药剂
, you can get one of these at the auction house for about 10g each.
- A mount (Duuuhhh!)
Now, after you got all of the above its very simple
1) Go to Lor'Danel in Darkshore
2) Make sure that your heading for Rut'Theran Village, you wont have much time before the fatigue start kicking.
3) Buff yourself with the elixir
4) Mount
5) RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!
Note that
速游药水
wont work! it gives you 134% swiming speed(2x67% swiming speed) which is not enough if you want to get to teldrassil without dying.
Also note that
水上行走药剂
wont share cooldown with healing potions which is great if you need a few more seconds before the fatigue disapears!
Hope it helped a few of you guys,
Good Luck! (:

I'm just posting to gloat about the accomplishment of 5 stubborn Hoard members.
We got into Teldrassil by running past the guards (do not attack! just RUN!). The guards at the dock gave chase for a bit (run and then make a right turn (careful not to fall in the water) Catch the boat and to Teldrassil.
(Here is where it gets tricky)
Be prepared to jump in the water just before docking in Teldrassil.
From the waters edge look for a portal located at a gazebo (its a small gazebo, like something you would find in someones backyard).
Run for the gazebo! (If you make it, you will be in the Elven capital!) There is a lake in the city jump in (so that you don't attract the guards).
Locate the exit and, RUN for it! dont worry about dying here (if you do simply rez at the Teldrassil graveyard)
Now what? You ask. Scare the hell out of the Elven newbies by targeting something (while they are directly in front of you). Remember they will click on you and only see ? And that's almost worth the effort
We explored the entire map (easy to do at level 36) since nothing here is a real threat.
There is a river the flows out to the sea. You should attempt to jump from the ledge into the sea. You will die, but the 2 minute freefall is worth it:) (I have several screenshots incase you want proof)

the easiest way for horde is with druid (55+) or rogue (dont know which lvl.. im 58 druid)
Use stealth and sneak from Auberdine (in darkshore) to northern ship... that leads u to Rut'theran (on theldrassil). coming there u r still in stealth cause boat doesnt "beam"... (nice thing...)
if u r there look out for red shining "beam" portal... just sneak in and u r beaming to Darnassus (Capital of teldrassil). there u r still in stealth... now head east... u can sneak whole way. there is 1 lvl60 elite riding a cat that can "see" u from far away.. so make a far way from her (she is scouting). the hardest part of scouting whole teldrassil is scouting shadowglen in north east of isle. its guarded by 4 lvl 55 guards and 1 lvl 7 "guard". they saw me from far so i decided to run through them and try to run away IN shadowglen... but they stun a lot so i died... (after getting shadowglen scouted) so i revive my corpse and HS back to orgri...
was very easy! and took 1 hour within scouting all darkshore... (from felwood)

I see alot of people don't know how to get in and out of Teldrassil. Well to get out of it you need to go through a pink portal in Darnassus, and either take one of those flying things or the boat. To get in you need to take a boat from Darkshore, and go through the portal in Rutheran Village.

PS if anyone wants to know how to get into shadowglen w/o agro'ing guards, just explore the west mtn barrier... there's a path to a cave. Nobody there at all - maybe it was a part of the game that was taken out? Old quest?

I went alone to Teldrassil today as a lvl 47 priest. After a few deaths I reached Aldrassil, the starting point of the night elves. With PvP on I would just sit around the first questgiver, naked, waiting. Soon noobs ranging from level 1 to level 14 started attacking me. It was really amusing to use Mind Control and watch them kill each other. DoTs work very well too. I stayed there for some 90 mins before a level 45 came with a bunch of lower levels to end my rampage. It really was worth it and everyone from the Horde that wants to have fun in the moments of boredom, Teldrassil awaits you.

If you don't want to ride the boat, and u have the correct spell/equip. you can Nifty Stopwatch and the Float spell to quickly run across the sea. I died one or twice, but eventually made it. Went into Shadowglen, and yeah a couple NEs would come up and attack me.

just got my owl as a lvl 21 orc hunter.
the simplest way is to die 3 times
First, swim out to the dock for the ship (north) and die just underneath. resurrect on the boat when it arrives.
When you arrive on the other side, go up the edge on the left, you'll get close to the portal before you die. You go back to the graveyard in darkshore, so you need to run back - if you leave from the most northern part of darkshore and head straight north you can make it before your fatigue runs out.
Rez just next to the portal and run in, get ganked in darnassus and resurrect outside. then go catch an owl.
i recommend going naked, all your stuff will get trashed otherwise.

I started getting Fatigued when you normally would while swimming, but because of the 100% speed boost from being mounted, I got out of the "Fatigue Zone" before it killed me. I landed at in Darkshore, completely unharmed. For anyone as ballsy/stupid/bored as me, go for it!

About an hour ago, I hopped onto my BE DK and decided to go scare some NE newbies. Here's what I do: (If you do this leave your good gear in the bank)
~Kill my way through Auberdine
~Jump on the boat
~Dance with the guards (cuz they can't kill you haha :P)
~Got to Ruth'theran village
~Run through the portal
~Get ganked running up the huge ramp
~Rezz at the Dolarran GY
~Commit suicide while the guards at the entrance to Shadowglen gank me
~Rez at the Dol. GY again, run to corpse, rez perferably behind a tree, as far away from your body as you can get.
~Go scare the NE noobs! I'm level 59, so of course they see me as ? and a skull, and if you're a hunter/warlock/DK, bring out your pet to add to the terror.
~The newbies tend to either run away, stay for a bit, log of and come back *hopefully* at a better time, or suck up to you. Today seemed to be a busy time for people on Undermine to make NE's, and they did everything I posted. Hilarious to watch.
Have fun!

Horde players- I just made a discovery about how to ride the boats from Auberdine to Teldrassil and Azuremist/Bloodmyst without dying or getting tagged for PVP. I popped an elixer of water walking, and while mounted, riding on the water, went to the front of the boat, and sort of jumped at it (I admit I was trying to jump on it, which is of course, impossible). I managed to lodge myself in the front of the boat so that when the boat moved off, I was stuck in it. I did not realize that I had accomplished this until the boat started moving. Again, I did not die or get flagged for PVP. Doing this, I managed to get to Teldrassil and back then get to Azuremyst Island. For Azuremyst, I lodged myself in the front of the other boat that looks like the one that goes to Teldrassil, but heads over to a Burning Crusade area. The game stopped responding on the BC load screen, but logging out and logging back in found me mounted, standing on the water, without the boat and right in front of Valaar's Berth, in safe water a bit far off from said landing. I'm sure this is some sort of bug that will be corrected soon, but in the meantime, it is a very easy way for get to these areas. As far as actually getting into Teldrassil/Darnassus, I agree with prior commentors- strip down, run through. If you give the center of Darnassus a wide enough berth (there is a lot of dead space at the edges of Darnassus), just ride through, don't fight anyone, and you will be able to explore Darnassus (or do whatever it is you're there for) at your leisure.

Night Elves starting their adventures will appear in Aldrassil. This small outpost in the secluded Shadowglen area provides new players with trainers that teach skills up to level 6 or so, and there are various vendors providing the most basic of goods. The quests offered by NPCs in and around the tree are invaluable to those just starting out, too.

Located in the center of Teldrassil, Dolanaar is a great step up from Aldrassil, and is conveniently located to boot, which means relatively easy access to everywhere in Teldrassil. An Ancient lumbers along the paths, and mounted guards run a patrol from the gates of the village to the entrance to Darnassus (check with their leader for a quest). There's a breezy inn here, as well as quite a few quest NPCs and vendors. If you've chosen the more natural professions, such as Herbalism, Alchemy, Cooking, and First Aid, you'll find trainers for you here. Also note the Moonwell's location.

Once Dolanaar's sister village (located off the curve of the path leading between Shadowglen and Dolanaar), Starbreeze Village is now home to hostile Gnarlpines who have recently turned from peaceful tradition to very hostile tendencies. All the Gnarlpines here are in the level 6/7 range, but the village is so tightly packed with them that being level 8 or above would highly help. Even the buildings are full of Gnarlpines! The Gnarlpine in charge of the village's seizure is Ferocitas the Dream Eater, and slaying him (a level 8 Gnarlpine with hard-hitting attacks) is part of a quest. Speaking of quests, there are quest-giving NPCs in this village, too, holed up in homes or held hostage on upper floors. Also note the Moonwell is a little ways away from the village, closer to the path, in case you need to find it.

Located in a narrow valley north of Dolanaar (and quite close, too), Fel Rock is a gathering place for mischievious and borderline homicidal sprites. The first areas of the cave are home to Rascal Sprites and Shadow Sprites, which aren't big deals at level 6 and up. Further on, though, you find Dark Sprites and Vicious Grell, which are more suitable for level 7 and 8 players. The leader of all these dancing abominations is Lord Melenas, who you have to behead for a quest. He's a tough level 8 and you need to fight some normal sprites and grell along with him, so either bring a party or wait until level 9 or even 10 if you want to solo him.

The once peaceful Gnarlpine humanoids have seized control of this area (located west of Dolanaar). The Gnarlpine Ambushers and Defenders are the least of your problem, and you can take them on at level 7 and above. However, in their ranks lie Defenders and Shaman, which can give players under level 9 a headache. If you can't survive this area, you'll have no chance in the Barrow Den, so keep that in mind. These guys, like all humanoids, have a nasty tendency to link. You may want to bring a friend or even wait until you're of a good level to tackle the Barrow Den to steamroll through here.

In the northwest corner of Teldrassil lies The Oracle Glade, a small outpost braving the dangers of the northern part of the area, one of the most dangerous in the tree. There's not much here, just a few quests and a Moonwell. Around the edges of the zone (and in dangerous proximity to the glade) are harpies of the Bloodfeather clan. The weakest members, Harpies, are just around level 8, but Rogues and Sorceresses can be challenging even at level 9 and 10. The most dangerous Bloodfeathers are the Furies and Matriarchs, which can prove a worthy opponent for players all the way up to level 12 and even 13! Don't take them lightly.
Along the path leading from Darnassus to The Oracle Glade, you'll find Elder Nightsabers, Strigid Screechers, and Webwood Silkspinners, all of which should be avoided until level 8, at the least. As you head further off the beaten path, you'll find Feral Nightsabers and Strigid Hunters, which are a bit more tough at around level 9-10.
In a small alcove controlled by tough harpies is a cat called Mist which starts a little-known quest. On a protruding branch along the northern edge of the area is a very tough mob called Sethir the Ancient. A quest which involves him has you only stealthily dealing with him, and quickly sneaking off. If you choose to actually fight him, be at least level 15, because he summons level 10 minions, and the entire battle takes place on a branch high over the sea. FALLING FROM HERE IS VERY DANGEROUS! If you're lucky, you'll land in the sea alive or dead. If you're dead, fall back down as a ghost, then swim around Teldrassil until you reach the port village of Rut'Theran. However, if you die on a cliff or slope, you may as well just revive at a Spirit Healer. Recovering your corpse will be very difficult, if not impossible.

While Shadowglen, a secluded valley in the northeast part of Teldrassil, is peaceful compared to other locales in the world, new Night Elf adventurers will run into their fair share of dangers here.
The weakest creatures (suitable for level 1/2 characters) are Young Nightsabers and Young Thistleboars, and are completely docile until attacked. If you progress further north into the back parts of Shadowglen, you'll run into Mangy Nightsabers and Thistleboars, which are good at level 3/4. Strange demon sprites have set up camps in the area. They're not aggressive, but they are threats nonetheless. Grells are level 2/3, while Grellkin are 3/4, and perhaps good even for level 5 characters.
If you approach the cave in the northwest part of the glen, you'll find Webwood Spiders, dangerous even at level 4 or 5. Take care when around them, as they can weaken you with their vile poison.

The most dangerous area in Shadowglen, adventurers should wait until they are at least level 4 or 5 before tackling the challenge that the Shadowthread Cave poses. The aggressive Webwood Spiders can be dealt with at level 4 or 5, but even then can be dangerous, as they are concentrated in close proximity to each other, and you may have to fight more than one at once. Deep inside the cave are eggs just waiting to unleash more spiders into Shadowglen, and the leader of the arachnids, Githyliss the Vile, a level 5 creature that you may just want to fight at level 6 for an extra measure of security. It's a suitable final quest for those about to leave the relative safety of Shadowglen.

Located south of the gates into Darnassus and nestled in a valley, the Pools of Arlithrien are seldom traveled. The pools are great for some relaxing fishing, and the monsters in the area are mid-range in Teldrassil. Nightsaber Stalkers, Strigid Screechers, and Webwood Venomfangs can be dispatched without too many problems at level 8 and above. Passing through here is a fast way to get to Gnarlpine Hold.

Located due north from the Ban'Ethil area, and east from The Oracle Glade, Wellspring Lake is home to mainly Timberling Tramplers, who roam around the edges of the lake. You may also run into various spiders, cats, and birds in the same level 8-9 range. It's a fairly tough area and you're likely to visit it only in your final hours in Teldrassil.

Dungeon filled with Gnarlpine. Enter here at your own peril. Best to come with backup. Be sure to talk to Oben for a great quest.

Perhaps this dungeon (once a place of rest for peaceful Druids), located in (and under) a building in Ban'ethil Hollow (west of Dolanaar), would be a good first dungeon to crawl through with a party. The enemies here can (and should) be taken on only if you're above level 10, though level 9s can squeak by. Even then, though, the sheer number of them can overwhelm those going solo. If you're set on soloing, I would wait until level 11 or 12 before coming here.
Party or not, the enemies here including Gnarlpine Defender, Shaman, and Augurs. There's also a tough level 10 enemy Druid called Rageclaw (part of quest you can get from the ghost of said Druid in a sideroom within this very dungeon). The quests involving this dungeon involve a fair bit of legwork, and its layout is very confusing for a low-level dungeon. Be vigilant!

The most powerful Gnarlpines in Teldrassil have set up a large campground here, in the southwest corner of the area. Gnarlpine Avengers and Pathfinders, both level 10 threats, await those ready to tackle the challenge of venturing into their camps. Their leader, Ursal the Mauler, is a strong level 12, and should be faced in a party unless you grit your teeth and leveled to at least 13 while in Teldrassil. Also, mind the edges, or you may just plunge to your doom.

Located south of Dolanaar, Lake Al'Ameth is under the constant watchful eye of Denalan, who is studying the recent Timerling sprouting in the area. Indeed, Timberlings populate the eastern end of the lake, and are around level 5 and 6. They're great to fight for those fresh out of Shadowglen, but even then, caution must be exercised. Further west, Timberling Bark Rippers pose danger to those under level 8, and Timberling Tramplers guard their master's cave at the western end of the lake. These foes can be tackled at level 9 or 10, but their leader, Oakenscowl, is an Elite mob. Elites can be two or three times as strong as another monster of its same level...in short, they are designed for parties. So try to grab a few allies before taking him on. However, if you wait until level 13 or 14 to fight him, you may have a chance to do it solo, so keep that in mind if you're a lone wolf...however, remember that partying now will serve you well, considering that the number of Elites you'll face in the future rises dramatically as you near your 20s.

If you fall of the Great tree and recover your corpse - you can only get back using your Hearthstone - If you haven't got it, an option might be to swim to south side along shore to the village - havent tried it - 'cause didn't know it was there when I fell.

This small village located at the roots of Teldrassil serves as the area's port. A boat here transfers passengers from the island of Teldrassil to Darkshore, on the mainland of Kalimdor, which provides infinitely more opporunities to players over level 12 than Teldrassil can.
Some quests take place here, though mostly just for Night Elves. There's a fishing supplier and a Hippogryph Master. To use the Hippogryph to fly to Darkshore instead of taking the boat, you must check out the Hippogryph Master in Auburdine (Darkshore's main town) first. Once there, you can fly between the two destinations for free instead of waiting for the boat, if you wish.
However, those leaving Teldrassil for the very first time will need to take the boat. It's not a bad trip, and no loading screens are required.

If you can get to this village there's a portal to Darnasus. Then I wisped back to my corpse, rezzed, and jumped off the branch. Took about 1/2 minute to hit the next obstacle down =) OUCH

To get to this currently empty cave, simply follow a curving path leading up from the area just east of Wellspring Lake. At the end of the winding path, you'll run into this cave. There's nothing there, though. Rumor has it that this area will one day house an entrance to a Bloodfeather-controlled dungeon or something similar.

Flowing north and over the edge of Teldrassil, Wellspring River is, for all its tranquility, a dangerous place for those just starting out. About halfway down the river, you'll run into Timberling Mire Beasts, which are level 9/10 elemental foes. The very end of the river poses several very unique dangers.
If you stick close to the river, you'll find Elder Timberlings at the very end. These foes are very powerful, especially for a level 1-10 area. In fact, you may want to wait until level 12 before challenging them, because they tend to amass together sometimes and fighting two at once is difficult. If you're lucky (or unlucky), you'll run into Blackmoss the Fetid, a level 13 (!) timberling foe. This is likely to be your last target in Teldrassil, but he's optional. He does drop an item that starts a quest, though, so you may want to kill him for sake of completion. He isn't always there, though, and waiting for him to spawn can be aggravating. I'd also like to warn you about the waterfall where the river flows off Teldrassil...don't play near it. Ever. The fall will kill you and trying to get to your corpse may be nigh on impossible.
In a series of rolling hills a little to the east of the river itself, you'll find Webwood Silkspinners (around level 9-10 enemies) and a named spider mob called Lady Sarthrah. This white spider is the target of a quest and is level 12, meaning she's one of the last challenges you'll undertake in Teldrassil. She's also a creepy white color, if that matters. It did to me.
