Maxed out, this talent will yield a total of 120 energy per 5 point recuperate
since recuperate doesn't stack, and costs 30 energy, this talent will effectively be an extra 90 energy over 30 seconds every 30 seconds as long as recuperate is kept active (with subs cp generation this wouldn't be a problem)
this works out to be an extra 3 energy for every second that you keep recuperate up (30%)
given subtlety's current energy starvation and excessive CP generation, this seems like it will be the perfect trade off and an ingenious solution that could help make sub raiding viable

your energy regeneration rate while recuperate is up (normally you regenerate 1 energy per second, and this generates an additional 12 energy per 3 seconds = additional 4 energy per second).
Granted, my rogue's only level 34 at the moment, but I don't see how this could be anything but absolutely essential to any raiding subtlety rogue.

I could be wrong, but from my observation, this seems to increase Energy at a smooth and steady pace, instead of ticks of 12 every 3 seconds.

Im specced into this talent and like it a lot. However, my personal experience, feel free to downrate, is that its quite hard to keep Rupture, SnD, Recuperate up while also doing an -occassional- Eviscerate. Occassional, since SnD doesnt have a very long duration and there are better Glyphs to choose. Serrated Blades helps in the Rupture department, so for me it is more of a matter of refreshing SnD and Recuperate between every other Eviscerate. I haven't seen any calculations on it but my feeling is that the DPS increase from this talent (in the implicit form of extra energy gained that can be spent on abilities) is outweighed/offset by the fewer Eviscerate's you'll be dishing out. Therefor making it moot in a boss fight.
Point is, I still think this is a great talent, especially when bursting down adds. But if you believe your rotation will be too hard to maintain with Recuperate in it, or if you think that your DPS will drop - then its better to skip this talent and keep recuperate out of your DPS rotation.

I have now found a good rotation that enables good DPS and a managable rotation... Even vs a Target Dummy (although Sub can only really be proven in a group thanks to HaT).

Requirement: 3p Energetic Recovery. 2p Serrated Blades. Slaughter from the Shadows 3p. Glyph of SnD. Glyph of Rupture (it helps a lot) (
Example build
).
Rotation:
0. (Optional) Get 5CP from healer crits
1. Open in stealth and slap a Hemo on asap
2. 5 CP rupture
3. Backstab to 5 CP, but feel free to Hemo if you want to speed things up.
4. 5 CP recuperate
5. Backstab to 5 CP (should be easy now improved recuperate is up. Always try to let your group give you the last CP while you pool energy)
6. 5 CP eviscerate (refreshing Rupture)
7. Backstab to 5 CP
8. 5 CP slice n dice
9. Go to as Recup might fallen off by this stage and you dont want to risk rupture falling off, again feel free to hemo when recup isnt on ya.
SnD and Recup will fall off from time to time and it takes a while before first SnD is up if you do not do step 0 and you loose a lot of DPS. But rupture musn't fall off because that means you loose 5CP eviscerate which will be doing comparable damage to rupture if you keep it up. So try to get your healer tuned in. You might find HaT procs on many things, ask your party to experiment if they humor you on your 5CP build up b4 the fight ;)

They should seriously remake (including renaming) this talent so it says:
"When you have your Slice and Dice or Recuperate ability active, you gain another 2/3/4 energy per second." That way you can choose between an offensive or defensive buff while you gain your energy bonus either way (and no, it should ofc NOT stack if you have both up). It is a bit difficult (and punishing if you fail) to juggle so many finishers.
That would make the Subt rotation a bit less painful. Just an idea :)

Few comments from what I have found raiding as sub,
Having a training dummy viable spec isn't important and sacrificing DPS in a raid scenario to make it so is a waste.
You don't really need the Glyph of Rupture as once your rotation is flowing you should easily be refreshing it within time.
Rupture benifits from Master of Sublety and so do all its refresh's so it is very important to get your rupture off within 6 seconds of exiting stealth and if it falls off to renew if after a vanish.
Once you are in to your rotation it normally ends up going 5pt S'n'D, 5pt Evisc, 5pt Recup, 5pt Evisc, Repeat with 2 of every 5 cps being generated from HaT
Without Glyph of Rupture you can Use Glyph of Shadow Dance which should be used on cool-down with shadowstep before your second Ambush so it gets the Shadowstep buff and the exposed armor debuff.
Vanish should be used after Shadow Dance just before the exposed armor debuff falls off so the ambush can benefit from it.
I tend to run with this
spec
Prep allows an extra vanish for more DPS, Precision can ofc be dropped if you have enough hit for the final points in Initiative and Coup de Grace.
