Just did this for the first time. It seems that unlike the TB collect crayfish from the lake quest you cannot simply fish up the snails (I guess because it's a cooking rather than fishing quest), but you can loot them while mounted making the quest a little less annoying for those of us with Sea Turtles.

Shift+V to see their health bars. Works for all collect_creeping_creatures_on_the_water_floor.
Helps alot to find them.

Its quite easy daily. just accept the daily in UC, go outside UC and go to brightwater lake in trifisal glades. There you just have to dive into the water and get those brightwater snails. Just press in V, so that you see those healthbars of the snails (they are yellow), or use the macro /target brightwater snail.

The easiest way to do this in my opinion, is make sure you're in the correct lake (brightwater lake in tiristfal as mentalheart said) then do

/target brightwater snail

This not only shows you the yellow ring around it, but on your mini map you can see it targeted now, it's nice for these guys as they tend to blend into the lake floor. This macro helped me out a lot!

Typing "/m" brings up the macro window. Click "new" and then make a name for the macro on the right pane that pops up. Then click "okay". Type in the macro "/target brightwater snail" ---this is all you need--, on the macro command pane. Then click "save". Move the macro button, a question mark, if you didn't choose an icon, to an empty action bar slot and hit it. On the mini map you will see the snail targeted as well as on the screen if you are close enough. After a while if you don't see it after hitting the icon, move in the direction of the arrow on the mini map and hit the icon again and you will see it. Use this macro for any small critter finding quests like small snakes, spiders, etc that are hard to spot. Just "/target whatever". For your trinkets type "/use whatever" . You can have multiple lines of command, so two "/use whatever" lines for your two trinkets. Hope you find this micro macro lesson useful :)

I concur that the macro "/target brightwater snail" works. Using the "V" button did not for me and that's using my 85 Hunter and a level 24 pally.

I would definitely advise the shift+V option mentioned above: these little fellas are fast and blend into the bottom of the lake.

I'd also suggest bringing some water-walking potions (if you're not a shaman ;) ), since you can see the snails' healthbars even while walking on the surface of the lake. Definitely speeds up quest completion, and solves the problem of accidental drowning.

Although other methods mentioned here are awesome, I also noticed the snails (even though they're at the bottom of the lake) leave a trail on top. So if you're above the water and you see ripples, dive down to capture those snails.

/tar <target>
/focus
/script SetRaidTarget ("focus", 1)

This is the target macro I use. Simply replace target with the name of the mob. (I.E. Brightwater Snail) It targets the mob, puts a star above there head and sets them as your focus. Useful for quests like these and the cooking dailies.
