I had some problems with this one too. Abandon the quest and go back to Slate Quicksand. He'll give the quest to kill Avalanchion.

Fly back to Avalanchions vault and take to the right. This will bring you up on the ledge where Avalanchion is.

I didn't get any 'port' out of the area after killing him, and I don't know if I was supposed to, but I just ran my way out. The mobs are busy killing each other and don't aggro on you.

The reason why Avalanchion thinks he recognizes you is because he's been around as the earth elemental boss of the elemental invasion since vanilla.

Hunters, you may want to put your pet on 'passive' while leaving Avalanchion's vault. Most of the mobs are preoccupied with fighting each other and won't bother you but some of them cast an aoe that WILL pull your pet and you into a big headache if you have your pet set on 'defensive'.

Don't linger after killing Avalanchion, or you'll end up killing him again--quick respawn!

You just have to kill Avalanchion in front of you and run out of the cave.
He drops no loot. He has quick respawn so don't rest.. run run run run !

I got problem with that quest when NPC teleport me i was killed by horde there. Ofc i couldnt go back on that place and take my body so i did it at GY.. Problem is that even if i abandon quest and take it back i still cant teleport on place up there and its no any chance to fly there somehow. Is some one had same problem plz give details how to do it to help. Thx

Kill the one who killed you and re-do it :p

I guess the reason all mobs are ignoring you is because you end up running like crazy trying to find a way out. This place really need more exit signs!

If you dropped this quest and are trying to figure out how to pick it up again, you can head to Slate Quicksand (30.6, 77.8) and pick it up there. I did not get the option to have a taxi back to the cave, so you'll likely need to fly to it (43.5, 81.4). I hearthed out after I killed Avalanchion and took the portal in Orgrimmar back to Deepholm.
