This quest is disappointing. When I saw its name and "I'm sure they're perfectly safe and disarmed. Every single one. Yup." from a friggin goblin, I thought some mines would blow up and deal damage/DoT/knockback. But all 8 mines were safe. Damnit.

There are some mines that you can't get close enough to defuse without them blowing up. I found that mines in the water can be defused from farther away than ones on land, I had better luck with them.

Disarm Trap cannot be used on the land mines.

On a side note. If you happen to click on the land mine as it explodes you will be informed that 'you can't do that while moving'

I found that by pushing the "/" key on the numeric keypad to make my character walk, I could sneak closer, slower to almost every mine unhindered by explosion.

Quite easy. Center your cogwheel on the mine, while it is grey, then slowly walk forward by tapping the W key until it turns gold. Right click to disarm the mine.

I'm not sure if this is intentional or not, but I tested it out for a while and it seems to work everytime. If you shift-rightclick to auto loot the mine, it will blow up everytime. If you are as far away as possible to still be able to click on the mines, right click, then select it form the loot box, it will not blow up on you.

Just wanted to post in your combat log the mines attack is called

Stray Land mine Explosion Bunny's Detonation.
So my combat log read, Stray Land mine Explosion Bunny's Detonation hits Janakala for 153 damage. Pretty silly
