When you have finished talking to Gorka find yourself a Demoralized Peon to talk to. If they agree to chop wood for you follow them and stick close by. They will be attacked by Ashenvale Stalkers (Nightelves). Your job is to kill them before they kill your poor frightened peons. If you are successfull your peon will provide you with a bundle of "Freshly Cut Wood". It will be lying on the ground next to your peon. Your peon will then despawn and you will have to find another one to do it all over again.

When you have your five bundles of wood, hand the quest in to Gorka.

Note that as of the current patch if you are mounted you will not receive the wood.

If you attack the Stalker before it attacks the Peon, it will not drop wood.

Currently if you are mounted a bundle of wood won't spawn. Also I haven't gotten a bundle of wood any time a night elf spawns.

This is what I did to ensure that a log dropped every time.

If no elf attacked, I did nothing and got a log.

If an elf attacked, I did nothing until the elf attacked the peon. Don't do anything against the elf until it starts damaging the peon or nothing will drop.

Also if a wolf attacks you, and you can't kill it before the peon finishes cutting the wood, you won't get any wood.

It seems that in addition to being mounted, you will also not receive a bundle of wood if you are in the process of doing something else (casting, mounting, opening a chest that the oozes nearby drop, etc). You will be returned with "Another action is in progress."

If you're having trouble seeing the peons, press Shift+V to display an HP bar above them. Press V again to turn it off.

Additionally, the stalkers will yell something such as "Ashenvale belongs to the Kaldorei!" before attacking.

It had taken me quite a few times to get it done.

The 1st two times, I attacked and killed the nelf before it touched the orc. Each time both orcs say "here you go", but no wood. So I came on here to check it out. 3rd time around, I hit the nelf after it hits the orc once (it 2-shots the orc) the orc dies, the wood's there and I finish the nelf off. That worked twice.

The 4th try I decided to see if it would work if I didn't attack at all until the orc dies. That worked. 5th try, I was mounted and it didn't work. A msg pops up saying "you are mounted".

7th try, same method, (wasn't mounted) no wood. 8th try no nelf spawn at all, I get the wood (twice).
So I'm not sure if it's a random drop, bugged or moody.

This quest seems to have been fixed/changed.
I was able to loot the wood when killing the stalker before it attacked.
Looting the wood dismounts you.

Of course if you don't read the quest before doing it you might think this is just a simple gathering quest where it's laying there waiting for you to pick it up, well not that much so. You have got to walk around the camp and look for Orcs(Female and Male both) that are shaking is fear of the Night Elf's lurking around. Talk to the Orc and they'll tell you to just watch their back while they cut wood for you to gather for the quest and for me prob about 4/5 times a Elf came Invis up to the worker, just kill ASAP.
