280% mount, Netherwing faction in Shadowmoon Valley rep grind, quests below.

To get rep you can:

Quests--

A Slow Death (Daily) 250 rep
Get 12 Fel Glands from the nether rays on Netherwing Ledge, use these along with the quest item you received to poison the orcs working all around the ledge.

Netherdust Pollen (Daily) 250 rep
This is the quest for herbalist, simple enough gather 40 pollen from the netherdust bushes found around the ledge. There is a identical quest for miners and skinners.

Netherwing crystal (Daily) 250 rep
Collect 40 Netherwing crystals. These drop off of the flayers on the ledge and any mobs in the mines south of the encampment. I personally had the best drop rates off of the fallen in the back of the mine, but different people reported better drop rates for different things.

Not so friendly skies (Daily)
Get 10 Netherwing relics from the Dragonmaw transporters flying between Netherwing ledge and the Dragonmaw Fortress. Land on one of the floating islands between the island and the land and use ranged attacks to pull the transporters to you. Fast, quick, quest, though their aimed shot hits for a lot so if you see the bow come out for a long time try to stun them.

Great Netherwing egg hunt (Repeatable) 350 rep first turn in, 250 subsequent turn ins
This is the only completely repeatable quest there is, and it's to turn in a netherwing egg. These eggs can come from anywhere herbs, mining, mob drops, there are even eggs that spawn along the ridge that you can click on to loot. Sadly though, the drop rate on these is incredibly low, I probably only got 15 or so during the entire rep grind. I'm not sure how common the lootable ones will be once the servers are live, I think they take a while to spawn and the server wasn't usually up long enough for them to show up.

Once you are friendly, this quest opens up:::

Overseeing and you: making the right choices 350 rep
Bring 10 knothide leather and 1 tyrannitor hide to the npc to have your weapon crafted. Tryanitor is the level 71 Trex in the far north dome in Netherstorm. Note: the hide is a drop, it is not skinned

When you complete this, these open up:::

The Booterang (Daily) 350 rep
You are given a booterang and have to tame 20 dragonmaw peons with it. Pretty easy, just fly around and look for the peons that are either asleep or are red and mad, the booterang is usable from your mount.

Picking up the pieces (Daily) 350 rep
Collect 15 Nethermine cargo from the mine. Easy, just run around looking for loot-able mine carts.

Dragons are the least of our problems (Daily) 350 rep
Kill 15 Nethermine Flayers are 5 Nethermine Ravagers these aren't hard to find, second path from the left at the second split in the tracks at the mine (first split doesn't matter, both take you to the same place)

Crazed & confused 350 rep
I was kind of surprised that this wasn't daily, but anyway to get to the npc stay left while going through the mines, eventually you'll see a netherdrake, drop down and you'll see the quest npc as you exit that area. The quest is to kill 5 Miners and 1 Foreman, to get to them go to the place with the flayers mentioned in the quest above and head to the right when given the choice.

You get a free drake when you reach Exalted by Obtaining This Quest :
Then after completing the chain you head to Shattrath to talk to Barthamus and then you can choose from either:
Suraku The Azure Drake(My personal fav.)
Onyxien The Onyx Drake
Malfas the Purple Drake
Jorus the Cobalt Drake
Voranaku The Violet Drake
And last but not least,
Zoya The Veridian Drake

It's actually interesting to note that as an added bit of detail, the Drake illusion that you're flying around on whilst doing your dailies has shackles around each of his legs, while the reins you're given have none.

Gotta love the name of this one. You can imagine the conversation at Blizzard HQ.

Head Designer: "Right, we need six different colours for these Netherwing Drakes - but not "normal" colours; I want fancy names. Get cracking lads!"

<20 minutes later>

Designer 1: "OK, we've got Violet, Cobalt, Onyx, Veridian and Azure. I think that's exotic enough..."

Designer 2: "What about the last one?"

Designer 1: "Oh yeah, the purple one. Erm... a word... for "purple"... that isn't "purple"..."

Designer 2: "Ummm..."

<Six Weeks Late>

Designer 2: "Jim, I was thinking... how about just going with Purple?"

Designer 1: "Yeah, I think that's for the best."

Unfortunately you're not able to ride a drake the exact color which is used for the mounted Fel Orc costume.. It is a combination of the Cobalt, Purple, and Violet color choices though. Fun fact: All drakes will change into this special coloured drake when you enter Netherwing Ledge thereafter.

well i know you start the first half of the chain to become neutral with the Netherwing faction at the field that is in between the aldor and scryer camp in Shadowmoon Valley...there is a guy that asks you to feed the netherdrakes there...after you finish that chain you have to have your epic flying skill to start the next half of the chain that i think begins in Shattrath where the netherdrakes are all sitting in lower city.

This quest chain begins with Mordenai after you have completed the "Karynaku" quest chain (Ends with Zuluhed the Whacked) and you must have your epic flying mount and training.
It's also a weird "chain" that I use loosely to begin the Dragonmaw rank/Netherwing Rep. it's primarily Daily quests that will bog you down and essentially make you take a week (avg.) to get this.
Strangely enough though I don't think you need epic training for the Nether Ray rep chain, but I'm not to sure. I'll check it out once i get mine tomorrow.

Every 280% mount should be expensive, and 5000g is a quite fair prize. 300 riding is what I'm saving for, because it lasts longer than any equipment. When the expansion came I deeply regret all gold i spent on eq, instead of buying an epic mount /150 riding skill

For all of you who are confused about this... Yes, you do need to get exalted with netherwing to get the drake (i'm <3k rep off now, should have it tonight). You do not need 300 riding skill in order to complete the quest chain to get neutral with netherwing (karynaku and all those), but you DO NEED riding 300 in order to do any of the quests after that (neutral to exalted). Additionally, after you get friendly with the Netherwing, you can't help people do the first quest chain because the dude you have to kill is friendly with you :-)

Ok, what rep do you need to grind and what mobs do you need to grind on? I've completed the first part of the chain and am working on the 300 riding but need to work on the rep part.

ok... there seem to be alot of people under the impression that the riding crop and cursader aura add the exact percent they say for example. with the riding crop "incresses mount speed by 10%" you think ok "so if im on my ground epic ill go 210% speed. (100%running+100%mount=200%+10%crop=210%)" WRONG! its is 10% OF 200% so you will be going 220% speed. (100%running+100%mount=200%total+20%crop=220%) same with crusader aura wich adds 20% you will be riding at 240% (100%running+100%mount=200%total+40%crop=240%) NOT the 220% (100%running+100%mount=200%total+20%crusader=220%) people seem to think.

for this reason speed increasing items/auras such as the riding crop or the crusader aura are more effective the faster the mount is naturally. because of course 10% of a number with a greater value would be greater than 10% of a number with a lesser value.

so if we apply this to the epic flying speed of +280% we find that with the riding crop you will be crusing at a nice 418% speed (100%running+280%mount=380%total+%38crop=418%)with the riding crop, and if your a pally well then lucky you because you will be flying at 456% speed! (100%running+280%mount=380total+%76crusader=456%)

now if any of you do not belive me or think "NO NO HES WRONG!." before you go and rate my post down and reply with your coments. i sugest you download an addon such as monkey speed, fubar - speedfu or titan speed and see for your self the numbers. then if you find anything wrong lets hear it.

in conclusion. the riding crop(10%) and cusader aura(20%) add the percent of the total speed (normal speed of running+what ever mount you are on) to your movment speed.

Ok, I hate posting with out alllll my cords and names and stuff on me handy..but here is what I KNOW for a FACT!

START OFF by going to the guy in Shadowmoon on the east side near the blood elf place. Kinda south. He's standing on the ground near where all the other dragons are flying around and I think there are big crystals on the ground. I don't think there is any sort of prequal to talk to him. He starts a quest line where you have to feed the netherdrakes flying around. Not sure the details, but if he has a quest for you just take it. He does wander around but ask around, someone must have cords on him. Once you finish the few quests he has it ENDS with a quest called Zuluhead the Whacked. It's a 5 man. Once you are done with that, you become Nutral with Netherwing! 1st hurdle over!

THEN, you have to save up the 5k gold for your 300 riding skill training. You don't need the epic mount to start your dailys I dont' think but at this point, what's an extra 200g right?... Once you get your final riding training go back to the guy on the ground and he has you do some stuff I think but eventually you are told to go to netherwing ledge. DONT FREAK OUT, you change your appearance every time you pass by into orc territory. READ your quests and what they tell you. You will understand why you change looks. Anyway, once you go to the ledge, there are quests there now. They help you get your rep to Exaulted to get your Drake. Which is FREE. One of the few things in this game lol. The more rep you get the more quests you'll be able to do and it kinda goes faster.

As for the quest Zuluhead the Whacked. It is true, once you have done the quest and become nutral, you can no longer do any damage to any of the other orcs because you become an orc when near them and they are friendly. If you are a healing class you can help out that way is all. Rezzing is always handy there, running back sucks!

If you are concerned about the quest in Netherstorm that tells you to kill the Netherdrake...yeah, you CAN kill them if you put 'at war' and NO your rep WONT go below nutral, so if you want to do the quest and haven't started the dailys, it's OK!

I hope this bit helped clear things up a bit about what order to do things in. I know when I started, I just wanted someone to tell me DO THIS FIRST!

BTW, I still use my gryphon, drakes are too bulky lol. And my friend doesn't use his either, he uses his Ray lol. But they look cool if you are flying a long ways :)

u dont need epic skills to get neutra;, but u do need to get the quests after, the start is SMV with the HIgh elf guy that asks u to feed the drakes, then u have to fly up high on same spot and look for a big drake that gives u a quest to kill orcsthe final quest is a man quest, up to this point u dont need epic skills but after the 5man quest, u cant get the follow up quest unless u have the epic

You get these netherdrakes from becoming exalted with netherwing. You must alrdy have ur epic flight training to start the dailies. If u have riding crop u will go 210% crusader aura 220%. The guy that sells them after getting exalted is in lower city, of Shattrath.
