BUG: Echoing Fury triggers off of both Dancing Rune Weapon and Reaper's Mark. This is an obvious bug stemming from the initial version of the talent working off of a spell Blood did not know, and is very likely to get fixed promptly. This simply means that you will spend two Exterminate charges before Reaper's Mark explodes instead of one, and works out to a ~3% gain for , narrowing the gap on single target slightly.

Throughput/Damage Profile

Burst is centered around Dancing Rune Weapon (90s cooldown). Rotational "gambling" is required
to conserve stacks of a buff that can only be acquired through a proc while casting Death Strike
between these.

Burst is centered around Reaper's Mark (45s cooldown or 30s cooldown with a talent) with a minor additional burst tied to casting Dancing Rune Weapon

Defense

Provides a small amount of bonus mastery, a shield on both you and your target when you resurrect somebody, and either a party leech buff while Lichborne is active or cooldown reduction on Icebound Fortitude, and an optional 5% physical damage reduction through Blood-Soaked Ground

Easy access to a near-permanent 7.5% damage reduction buff, doubled Blood Plague healing, a tie-in to Permafrost from dealing damage with Exterminate and cooldown reduction on Lichborne

Utility

An opt-in talent to grant a small amount of movement speed to your four nearest allies when you activate either of your movement speed abilities.

Manage buffs and debuffs: Blood Death Knight has a plethora of impactful buffs and debuffs to maintain. These range from positional effects such as Death and Decay, throughput "checks" such as Ossuary, rotational checks such as Hemostasis, and maintenance buffs that reward you for playing the spec, such as Coagulopathy. These all significantly contribute to your performance, both offensively and defensively. While they seem simple by themselves, their interactions often lead to a difficult recovery if you falter at one or more.

Keep cooldowns on cooldown: A significant part of Blood's gameplay loop is tied to Dancing Rune Weapon. This is loaded with defensive and offensive value - more Runic Power generated, free Bone Shield charges, a greater chance to parry, more damage, etc. However, all these effects amount to naught if you choose to delay it.

Optimize resources: Tying into the first point, Blood Death Knights live or die by their cooldown and their resource generation and spending. Death Strike is your bread and butter, both offensively and defensively, and your absolute goal is to maximize its use.

I'm either missing something completly or you missed something interesting.

Death Coil (can stay in your spellbook, you won't be using it)

Considering it's back to the old times and Lichborne makes you undead that means you can Death Coil yourself, which will be something to keep in mind when you can't use your use Death Strike or it's gonna heal less.

High Mountain Tauren is arguably the best race for blood dk due to the:

Passive 1% versatility (our best stat)
&
Bull rush- providing extra mobility (slowest class in game)

I just love the fact how numbers wise Goblin is the best spec for DK, but when it comes down to it... Blood Elf, Orc, Undead, Tauren, Troll and THEN we get the Goblin.
It's a bit different for Alliance, but still fun to see how Draenei is still ahead of the "good" races, because Draenei has... a heal?
Also, this is coming from a Lightforged Draenei DK, so screw the numbers XD

Which spec should one use if you don’t do raids or mythic plus dungeons? I just play in the open world and run heroic dungeons, so curious how I should be speccing.

San'layne party "utility" is fake except for imporved resurrection. The vampiric aura is so badly undertuned, it's has next to zero impact. "Reduced cooldown of IBF" is also misleading. The cooldown reduction triggers only from delivering a killing blow, something that will be mostly done by dps dealers in a group content and thus this talent is fake outside of solo content.
