In my bank i have a +30 Deadly Solstone, and a +30 Masterful Kubiline, that dropped in the beginning of BFA before I had any gear with sockets. Was this a mistake? Do I have, rare, sellable gems that are higher value than the ones crafted? It seems odd that they appear to be these same gems, but have +30 value... I dont know whether to keep for when i have raid gear worthy of them, or to sell them on AH in case a nerf bat comes lurking into my bank.

I have some of the BfA gems under "Unlearned"-tab and I have the skill level to do them like the "masterful Kubiline" which requires lvl 1 (Im at lvl 45) but the trainer isn't selling it and I can "learn" it fromt he "unlearned"-tab ?

Might be a good idea to add which specific reputations for both factions have which recipes and what level rep is required. For example, this guide only lists the horde reps needed for some of the items but not the alliance equivalent. There are also 3 patterns available at a Storm's Wake vendor: Sister Lilyana#sells:0+15-2

I have just reached lvl 150 in JC and there are no new recipes or any rewards. What is the point to max out this profession. Terrible design.

Jewel crafting is more useless than ever. It's one thing that there's no point to level it above 125 skill points. But what disappointed me more is the fact that almost every other profession like LW BS Tailoring can make ilvl 370 and ilvl 385 Gear.. JC can't even make an ilvl 325 ring.. Instead of pushing people to change their professions to something "Usefull" they should just delete JC from wow.

Any ideas if they plan to give us Mass Prospect? That would be incredibly handy! It takes over 45 minutes to prospect 10 stacks of ore, just mindlessly clicking (even with an add on) every 3 seconds (and the crafting enchant doesn't even speed this up).

The part of this guide that recommends crafting the rare gems until about 140 is definitely the most efficient for leveling. I tracked how many attempts it took me to get each skill point from 134 to 139 and it was way less than the 24 rare gems (rank 2) or even 18 gems (rank 3) it would take to craft the each staff (which are orange). I'll list the few data points I recorded for a frame of reference (though obviously it will vary for each jewelcrafter).

Average attempts for 1 point: 4.167
Max attempts for 1 point: 8 (point 136 and 139)

Skill Point - Attempts to acquire point
134 - 3
135 - 3
136 - 8
137 - 2
138 - 1
139 - 8

I had 11 Kraken's Eye so I only had to use rare gems to get to point 139. Then I could use the Kraken's Eye's to go the rest of the way.

Why are there no 340 ilvl craftable rings like all the other crafting professions got. This is like really freaking lame.

Does anyone know whatpercentage chance you have of discovering the incresed ilvl recipes for the rings? Bc i want the sanguicell ones, but dont really want to waste the mats, since krakens eye is not the cheapest.

I'm just here to complain how useless JC feels right now.

I'm drowning in the common gems, tripping all over the rare gems, my guild can't use the stock of them as fast as I can make them. I'm starving for krakens, as well as the red/green gems you need a ton of for making rings ( Gasp, they gave us rings worth crafting for use in current content ). What is even going on with JC right now? No toy or mount or extra goodies, no gear worth selling, no way to add a socket to our own gear or personal benefits for being a JC. I just sit around with my shiny rocks, stuff them in the guild bank, and wait til the next time I happen to have enough gems to try making a ring with stats I want.

I kind of want to switch to another profession that would be more personally useful, and I probably could and my guild STILL wouldn't make it through the stock of gems I could leave behind before switching. And thats a sucky feeling to have, because I've always quite enjoyed being a JC, and I like being helpful to people who need gems or rings for a quick boost on an alt or something.

In BfA, if you drop JC and want to relearn it later, is there a catchup method for the pre-bfa skills and patterns?

In 8.2 the seller says Narv, but he doesn’t sell these recipes. At least according to the info. I also noticed there were no JC recipes sold by the 2 sellers of the main reputation vendo3.

So where do we get them?
