Blizzard Giving Thought to Mandatory Authenticator?
According to
this
recent article over at WoW.com, Blizzard is giving serious consideration to making authenticators mandatory for all accounts.
While I personally think this would be a great idea and could almost eliminate hacking attempts, I still see some problems with it. First there is the entire logistical operation involved with this, even if they provided an authenticator with every copy of the game from now on how would they get it to current customers. They also have a lot of trouble even keeping them in stock currently in the Blizzard Store. One way to combat that would be to make this go into effect during Cataclysm and bundle it with the new expansion and give some kind of grace period before they lock it down. Another issue I foresee happening is a lot of people really just plain dislike having to enter a second "password" that is random every time you login, this is especially bad if you have two accounts that you keep switching between.
Overall I personally welcome our new authenticator overlords when they

Arena Season 8: Wrathful Gladiator
With 3.3 approaching at an alarming pace it is about time to talk about the Future... Of Arenas. As some of you may know the next season is going to be called
Wrathful Gladiator
.
Now many of you may be asking the $25,000 question: When is Arena Season 8 going to be coming out? Well I might have an answer for you, but it isn't confirmed by Blizzard in the slightest. From my calculations I am guessing that the current arena season is going to end around the end of the year, which would put it around December 29th or January 5th. The last 3 arena seasons ended after 17, 17, and 18 weeks respectively which would put those two dates in the same time frame from when the season started (Season 7 started September 1, 2009.)
Along with this we also know what the reward for season 8 is for the select few who make it into the top ranks: the legendary
Wrathful Gladiator's Frost Wyrm

Whatever It Is, It Nears.
Today Blizzard posted another interesting tweet on the
@Warcraft
Twitter page.
http://twitpic.com/qsi5p
- It nears. 11/25
The most popular guesses as of now are that it's either a screen capture from the upcoming WoW movie, or it's a picture of the new statue that Blizzard is putting in their office lobby.
Personally I'm leaning towards the latter—I think that's more Blizzard's style.

It's Coming - 11/25?
Today Blizzard posted an interesting tweet on the
@Warcraft
Twitter page. It was just a simple message with an image saying something is coming 11/25 with a picture (shown on the right).

What could this all mean? It's just a few days away and we'll see but it won't hurt to speculate a little. Let's hear your thoughts, hm?

3.3 More Than a Month Away?
According to a post by Datth (one of the official technical support posters), Patch 3.3 is more than one month away. This would put it at the end of December most likely the 29th or even early January.
Hi Alisperis,
We only provide mirror links for full client patches. Background downloads do not count. You have around 1+ month to download this file so we're not really worried about your speed. :)
As there is no official date posted and Blizzard usually doesn't even come close to mentioning them take this with a grain of salt.
But be sure to expect 3.3 sometime Soon™.

[Spoilers] The Fate of the Lich King
Do not read this blog if you do not wish to learn about spoilers!

So apparently some kind people found out what happens to the Lich King at the end. Or almost. If you follow the YouTube link at the beginning of my (short) blog, you will see an animation of him as he appears at the end of the Icecrown Citadel. I won't reveal anything about the animation in this section, but you can check it out and read a little about it after the break.
And just a few things before we start the comment-off - just facts we know as official Lore. Arthas and Ner'zhul do not exist as separate people/spirits/souls. There is only the Lich King. The LK shares his two "creators" memories and a small number of their emotions and goals, but that's it. Do not think of him as "Arthas" or "Ner'zhul", because the differences are more than the similarities. And if you go back to the Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne cinematic, where Arthas merges with Ner'zhul, you will notice that the "

Patch 3.3 On PTR! (Quel'Delar... Speculations?)
Hey, so 3.3 PTR came down on us like a sword falling on an iceberg. From the sky. Anybody else really excited about going there and kicking some butt (we'd chew gum too, but we seem to be out of gum...) with Sylvanas and Jaina? 'Cause I sure am!
Anyway, hopefully you are wondering where the stupid metaphor came from. 'Twas all intentional. A little while ago, back in the 3.1 days, when the Argent Tournament first came to existence, something starting drilling in the Lore freaks' heads. Right next to Sindragosa's Fall (where we saw the Lich King raising the biggest frost wyrm of them all in the WotLK cinematic), there was a sword. Sword stuck in the ice, surrounded by some stones, and apparently called Quel'Delar. Related to Quel'Serrar? Or maybe some sort of Excalibur reference? We knew nothing about it, until a few minutes ago when MMO-Champion dug some information from the PTR files. It's only spells, but they seem rather interesting by themselves too...
P.S. Stay tuned, more stuff might appear!
