It's probably the new fish feast. On the beta, the item has the current use:

Sets up a barbeque to feed your party. Restores 96000 health and 72000 mana over 30 sec. If you spend at least 10 seconds eating you will become well fed and gain 50 Strength, Agility, Intellect, and Stamina for 1 hour.

By the fact that this requires Cooking to use, not engineering, I'm guessing that it's meant to be a cheap alternative to fishing that can be made by people that don't want to fish/farm foods for cooking.

Now we just need a spatula shaped 1-h weapon to go with the chef's hat when we place it.

I would assume it's spec based. Warriors/DK/Ret would STR. Rogues/Hunter/Enhance Shaman/Ferals would get AGI. Mage, Lock, Priest, Resto Druid, Resto Shaman, Holy Pally would get INT.

But for the material requirements, it's gonna suck if it's not a permanent item with a 30-60m cooldown.

Worthless out of the gate unfortunately, anyone who cares enough to make a feast will use the +90 recipes.

I made a few and used them in a BRC run. Holy priest and I (boomkin) got 60 int/stam, DK tank got 60 dodge/stam, kitty dps got 60 expertise/stam, but the mage kept getting stuck with 60 dodge/stam. I think its broken (what isn't these days) and not a result of RNG, because subsequent barbecues kept giving the same buffs (as did the mage removing/refreshing the food buff over and over).

It seems this was hotfixed. My DK received strength, the Warrior tank received dodge, the Holy Priest, Boomkin got int and our group Mage got int.

Actually, getting that achievement is quite easy - the coffee recipe (starfire espresso or something like that) is considered a level 85 food for the achievement - shouldn't take more then an hour and 1k for just one person to knock out 5k of them with a chef hat.

I'm slightly disappointed that - as the ingredients suggest - this is NOT barbecued goblin meat in the end, but just regular meat, barbecued with a goblin tool.

Does anyone know exactly when Blizzard "hotfixed" nerfed/corrected this item?
It used to take 5 hardened elementium bars to make, now only 2 normal elementium.
Whenever they did this, they also nerfed the crap out of warrior self heals and dk heals as well.
Nice that Blizzard threw in a "stealth" patch and no one seemed to notice.

If they removed the fish from the material requirement it would be a reasonable cheap buff. As it is there are two major problems, one being lavascale is just botted so a legitimate player can't compete, two being the real feast uses lavascale so it's more precious.

You must be an engineer to make this, but not to use it. You must be a cook (lvl 475) to use it. It is a one-time use item (disappears once used). The "reagents", such as the toughened flesh, are used by the engineer to make the barbeque. When you have the barbeque, you do not need any additional ingredients to use it.
