Nobody might care, but I just have to say I really enjoyed that short cutscene. I remember so clearly playing that mission in Warcraft 2, and Lothar dying. In subsequent missions, if you clicked on Turalyon a lot, he'd start getting frustrated, and one of his lines was "You think Lothar's death was my fault, don't you!".

Just really appreciate this little nod back to an era of my youth, and a game that opened a whole new world for me.

A great quest. My only regret is that they didn't fully animate it with better graphics, give it attention it needs.

So far the coolest moment in the expansion. Being aware of the lore here, it was really cool to see this moment depicted in-game using WoW's modern assets! Young Turalyon looked badass.

But yes, there is a slight continuity error. The "height of the Second War," specifically the events shown here, took place in 6 ADP (After Dark Portal). Midnight is said to take place after 43 ADP (perhaps 44?), so Kurdran's "nearly thirty years ago" doesn't add up as that would put us around 14 ADP instead.

But he's only off by eight years, and he's getting old... so maybe we can forgive him for getting it a bit wrong.

Description

This statue seems out of place here. Nothing else like it. But this is where Anduin Lothar fell against Orgrim Doomhammer at the Battle of Blackrock Mountain. Many fought on this field. Many didn't make it. Lothar... Let me tell ye what happened all those years ago.
