Once you have arrived in Frostfire and opened your Garrison you can pretty much ride right over and pick up the quest and the follower. Gotta catch 'em all!

It is no longer necessary to complete certain quests to gain access to this quest and follower. I wrote the comment below during Beta.

To unlock this short chain and have access to gaining Gronnstalker Rokash as a follower, you will first need to have completed the chain Ga'nar's Vengeance (or almost completed, as I hadn't turned in To the Garrison when this quest opened up).

You can avoid the thunderlord orcs by climbing up to where Sky-Singer Strag is by going towards where Colossal Fall's mouth would be located on the giant skeleton.

I can say that to get this follower you do NOT have to be on the Ga'nar's Vengeance quest. I did however complete the battle to take the Bladespire Fortress, & had just picked up the quest "Save Wolf Home", but hadn't completed it or done anything with it.

Also, this may or may not have anything to do with it, but I had also completed the follower missions in my Garrison, until the Landfall Recovery mission came up which required Gronnstalker Rokash for his countering of Deadly Minions. Could also be you just have to go to his location at 59.4,31.8 to pick up this quest, which is a very easy quest.

Once I start my other 90 out in WoD, I'll check to see when you can pick this follower up. I'll Edit my post when I do.

You cannot actually avoid the thunderland orcs unless you are stealthed.
If you look on your map for the skeleton ruins / Colossal's Fall, Sky-Singer Strag is on the far right of the skeleton. To reach her with the least amount of orc aggro, you can approach the ruins from the right side. There will be a torch-lit bridge / ramp to her platform.

Warriors can use Heroic Leap from 62, 29 in between the ropes and spikes from the back right side of her platform then jump forward and kill her with zero trash aggro issues. I'd imagine warlocks could also gate up. Just did this on my warrior before posting.

Description

I am Gronnstalker Rokash, and I only serve the winning side.

I have heard of some of your deeds, commander, and seen the corpses left in the wake of you and your forces.

I have grown tired of my current clan. They are soft, weak, and losing.

I offer you this challenge: enter Colossal's Fall to the north and slay Sky-Singer Strag. Claim her totem as a trophy and I will hail you as my new chieftain.
