She's located under a tree (hence root :D), its west of the Lake of Stars (if u look at the zone map, it's where the road makes a loop). Careful as you enter as the eggs will spawn level 88/99 Coldbite Spawn (miniature crocs).

The entrance to Coldbite Burrow can be found at coords 58.7, 59.5

Avoid the purple eggs or they will hatch into baby spawns and you will have to kill them. Not bad if you only have one or two, but if you trample over all of them you're gonna have a problem.

Watch out for the eggs on the ground - if you run over them tiny crocolisks will spawn.

Run a bit around the room and you will suddenly be surrounded by many little jaws.

I can't believe nobody found any easter eggs in this quest. For those wondering, while not official, there's a truly easy link to be made with Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

From the quest text:

Kypari Zar is dying.

A creature of terrible darkness corrupts it from deep beneath its roots.

The tree cannot be saved, but at least we can lessen its pain.

Look. The vile creature has carved a path to its own lair. We need only follow it down the hill, just behind this tower.

Now, when we take a look at Zelda OOT, the 1st dungeon you have to do is Inside the Deku Tree. Basically what's happening is that the tree has been cursed by Ganondorf and that you must go inside of it to kill the curse (Queen Gohma). Once it is done, you go out and speak to the tree, who
will none the less die, but with eased pain. In this quest, you go into a cursed tree, with a boss that spawn adds from the eggs like Gohma, and when it is done the tree die too, but with eased pain. In that version the enemy is the sha and not ganondorf; yet they both represent pure evil.

Many of the comments were helpful so hopefully this will add something. The burrow (looks like another rabbit type hole) in the area of the eggs is at 58.76/59.59 called "Coldbite Burrow". The "vial creature" is the matriarch, a LARGE crockolisk type with 1181k HP. Some of the eggs will hatch around during the fight so if you have an aoe (like the lock Immolation), it will help. Once complete, your escort flies away (why couldn't he give us a ride back to Klaxxi'vess?).

Your escort: Klaxxi Warrior, whose name appears in-game as Korven the Prime.

Korven the Prime says:

Despite your obvious weaknesses, I have grown fond of you, Wakener. I was made a paragon because of my prowess on the battlefield. It was said that I could cheat death itself. I shall lend you this very ability, Painkiller, to protect you during the task ahead.

I feel strong enough to continue on my own, <name>. I must report this... sha... presence to the Council immediately. If we meet again, it shall be at Klaxxi'vess.

Okay, so I found the deep cave where the Matriarch hides, and killed her with Korven's help. At this point, some n00b came in on my tail, upset everyone (me) with HIS helper, so I was trying to click on TWO yellow ?'s at one time ........ End result, bloody Korven has stayed behind forever fighting the big croc. Had to get outa there. Left him behind. Now, quest says, meet him at Lake of Stars, but HE tells me to meet him at KlaxxiVess. Just a warning in case is bugged

Tameable, but you have to kill it once if you're on the related quest because the mantid follow NPC will keep attacking it, making it impossible to tame. Just turn in the quest after killing it, then wait for it to respawn in a couple of minutes, then tame.

Then you can use her to make her kill all her spawn.
