Barely managed to beat him using a Sunreaver Micro-Sentry (2-1-1), Personal World Destroyer (1-2-2) and a Pocket Reaver (1-2-2).

The idea is to take out Mr. Pointy before it even swaps in, by using the powerboost of Call Lightning and Supercharge to make for a powerful 3 rounds of Quake.

So the game looks like this:
Call Lightning - Swap to Personal World Destroyer - Supercharge - Quake - Quake - Quake - swap to Sunreaver Micro-Sentry when Personal World Destroyer is destroyed - Call Lightning - swap to Pocket Reaver - Supercharge - Quake - Quake - Quake - finish up the rest with Sunreaver Micro-Sentry.

On a side note: I sincerely hope the pet has a 100% drop chance on Beta right now, because I managed to get it on my first try.

3 man Strat – Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling – 122, Tranquil Mechanical Yeti – 111, and Darkmoon Tonk - 111.

Start off with Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling and immediately Breath because Syd will change up his starting move often. It’s better to have a Breath blocked than your 4 round cooldown Thunderbolt. If Syd Bubbles first round, then throw up your Decoy, but if not, then hit him with a Thunderbolt. Spam him with Breath until he falls, and try to get your Darkmoon Tonk in before the Whirlpool hits and roots your Dragonling.

Next up is Mr. Pointy. Immediately use Lock-On, and then once more for half of Mr. Pointy's health. Next up shove a Shock and Awe up his tail-end, and then spam Missile until either your Darkmoon Tonk or Mr. Pointy falls. If Tonk dies before Pointy, then bring in Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling again, and throw down another Decoy, before bringing in your Tranquil Mechanical Yeti.

Metal Fist Pointy until he is a corpse, then when Otto switches in, immediately Supercharge, followed up with a Call Lightning, and spam Metal Fist until Otto is sent to the great Guernsey grotto in the sky.

The reason I opted for Lock-On rather than Ion Cannon is because of the two rounds of Recharge that comes with it. These pets hit like trucks and 2 rounds spent recharging would likely lose the fight for you.

Not too much of a crazy fight with this team set up - Taming Christoph VonFeasel

I used:

Scourged Whelpling
Tranquil Mechanical Yeti OR Mechanical Squirrel (added because I use him in my 2 pet strat and he's just that great at this fight)
Lil' Bling

Against Syd you want to set up your Plagued Blood and Death and Decay and just Tail Sweep until he's dead. You will have a little health left to apply a Plagued Blood to Mr. Pointy and refresh the Death and Decay. Your Tranquil Mechanical Yeti will use Call Lightning and Metal Fist through Mr. Pointy's Trihorn Shield then once he is low enough, if you like, you can slam him with Ion Cannon.

Next, Otto comes out, who is adorable! And packs a hefty heal with his Feed but that's ok, because while he kills your recovering Tranquil Mechanical Yeti you might live long enough to smack him with another Call Lightning and then your Lil' Bling can really get to work!

Use Extra Plating because it's just a safe bet - then Inflation and Make it Rain will handle Otto easily.

A really fun fight!

(Instructions for alternate Mechanical Squirrel use Extra Plating then Wind-Up 1 time, use Metal Fist until your opponent's health is below 1027 and then use Wind-Up again. This works on both Pointy and Otto. Refresh Extra Plating when off CD.)

So I finally killed his pets with only 2 pets.

1. Personal World Destroyer with Metal Fist, Repair, Quake
2. Arctic Fox Kit with Flurry, Howl, Dazzling Dance

Start with PWD: Quake (it goes for 3 rounds), then Repair, Quake again.
PWD should still be alive.

Swap to AFK: Dazzling Dance, Flurry (breaks Bubble), but if about to die, Howl.
May be able to Flurry again before dying.

Syd should die, then Mr Pointy comes in.

PWD can use Metal Fist to kill him.

Otto comes in.

PWD can use Metal Fist twice to kill him.

This trainer has 1 magic pet and 2 beasts, it would be REALLY wise to use mechanic pandaren dragon, and 2 other mech pets ( the pand dragon is the best pet of the game for killing magical types, in the case of not owning of of him, Yu'la, Broodling of Yu'lon works really good also.) The last ones, i would recommend son of animus and tranquil mech yeti, the yeti has one if the highest burst damage in the game on his combo of thunderstorm + yon cannon, that can pretty much kill him before the bonus damage of beying a beast. with those 2, you can pretty much complete also the plushie quest =)

I defeated him today (1/11/14) with the following setup:

Scourged Whelpling - 2/2/1
Son of Animus - 2/2/2
Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling - 1/2/2

Start off with your Whelpling and use Plagued Blood into Death and Decay. When the Direhorn comes out use Plagued Blood again and hit it with Tail Sweep until you die.

Once your Whelpling is dead, switch into Son of Animus. Use Touch of the Animus and then spam Batter until it's dead. If he has his Trihorn Shield up, use Intterupting Jolt since the shield will block the majority of the Batter damage.

After the Direhorn dies, hit the Cow with Batter until your Animus is dead, then follow up with a Decoy and spam Breath with your Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling.

Using this setup I never felt like there was any risk or luck involved, as the pets (as far as I remember) never missed or anything.

Strategy that worked first try for me
- Spawn of Onyxia - Breath, Scorched Earth, Lift-off
- Son of Animus - Metal Fist, Siphon Anima, Extra Plating
- Pocket Reaver - Metal Fist, Quake, Supercharge

Syd Vs. Spawn of Onyxia

Start with Scorched Earth, the reason being that out of my 5 or 6 different compo tries, Syd always started with a Whirlpool before using Bubble and starting blocking incoming attacks).
Use Lift-Off as a mitigation tech for Whirlpool.
Use Scorched Earth on CD.
Breath is used as filler and Bubble destructor.

Mr. Pointy Vs. dying Spawn of Onyxia + Son of Animus

Start Mr. Pointy with Breath as much as possible. Neither Lift-Off nor Scorched Earth should be up but if they are, use them !
Use Extra Plating right at the start to maximise its uptime, as Mr. Pointy inflicts heavy damage!
While Trihorn Shield is active, only use use Metal Fist. Keep Siphon Anima for full capacity healing when Trihorn Shield fades.

Otto Vs. dying Son of Animus + Pocket Reaver

Extra Plating asap and Metal Fist and Siphon Anima as much as possible before dying.
Supercharge right at the sart and Metal Fist until Otto is nothing more than a bloody piece of good meat.

Hope it'll work for you, I had it first try with this comp !

I use the same team for both trainers.

Onyxian Whelpling
Tail Sweep, Healing Flame, Lift-Off

Ominous Flame
Burn, Scorched Earth, Conflagrate

Cogblade Raptor
Batter, whatever, Exposed Wounds

With both trainers, use them in that order. Tail Sweep the first enemy to win, even after the changes to it, healing when necessary or, if you can get a Lift-Off to avoid a big hit, do it.

With the Flame, Scorched Earth when you need to score a big hit, Conflagrate too, Burn for filler.

Cogblade Raptor is an excellent finisher for both Beasts (monkey/cow). Exposed Wounds and Batter to victory, though you could toss in a Screech or Overtune if you're feeling lucky I guess.

Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling (Breath, Thunderbolt, Decoy)
Darkmoon Zeppelin (Missile, Bombling Run, Decoy)
Lil' Bling (Inflation, Extra Plating, Make it Rain)

Start with mechanical dragonling. For squid spam Breath, use Thunderbolt when he has bubble on him, use Decoy when Whirlpool is about to struck you.
When dragonling dies switch to zeppelin. Use Bombling Run (be careful not to waste it when direhorn's shield is active, it will be blocked), use Decoy when possible, spam Missile.
Lil' Bling's rotation is Extra Plating - Make it Rain - Inflation (but you already know this, right?).

Good luck in farming the squid pet!

UPD: Bronze Whelpling (Tail Sweep, anything, Lift Off) and Iron Starlette (Wind Up, Powerball, Supercharge) can beat this guy, so you can put your Elekk Plushie as the third pet for An Awfully Big Adventure. I can assume that Onyxian Whelpling can be used instead of bronze one (see IMIssThottbot's comment).

Start with whelpling, spam Tail Sweep, use Lift Off to avoid geyser hit. Continue to Tail Sweep direhorn until your dragon dies.
Switch to Iron Starlette. Use Wind Up, Supercharge, Wind Up - direhorn dies. When cow comes forth use Wind Up, Powerball (your Supercharge will be on cd on this turn), then Supercharge and Wind Up - cow dies.
If the squid kills your whelpling, no worries. Just switch to the starlette and hit him with Powerball.

Did it with following team:

Personal World Destroyer Abilities: Metal Fist Repair Quake
Fossilized Hatchling Abilities: Bone Bite Ancient Blessing BONESTORM
Any Pet with speed over 281

Tactics:

Begin with PWD and Quake. After Quake ends use Repair and then Metal Fist until Quake is off CD again. After Quake PWD will die but he has done his job!
Send in your Hatchling and open with BONESTORM!. Next use Ancient Blessing and Breath until BONESTORM is off CD again. Now your Hatchling should die and activate its passive Kill Syd with Bone Bite and use your speed pet to finish off Otto and Mr. Pointy. I used Sprite Darter Hatchling

This CAN be screwed by some opponents crit luck but in that case concede and restart the battle.

I found this to be a quite nasty pet master, he use following 3 pets:

Syd with Water Jet, Whirlpool and Bubble.
Mr. Pointy with Horn Gore, Trihorn Shield and Impale.
Otto with Trample, Feed and Darkmoon Curse.

I used following pets to down him:

Enchanted Broom with Batter and Sweep.
Darkmoon Tonk with Missile, Shock and Awe and Ion Cannon.
Emerald Proto-Whelp with Breath, Ancient Blessing and Proto-Strike.

Starting with Enchanted Broom I use Sweep on Syd. Making him change with Otto, and then just use Batter, I tried this 2 times, and both time I killed it with little hp back. He then changed back to Syd and I used Sweep again where Mr. Pointy comes into play. I used Batter before I die.
- Depending on luck Enchanted Broom die before killing Otto, then I change to Emerald Proto-Whelp early, and it should work fine as well.
For Mr. Pointy I use Darkmoon Tonk, and for Syd I used Emerald Proto-Whelp.
For Mr. Pointy I used Shock and Awe followed by Missile until you kill it, then when Syd comes I used Ion Cannon.
For Syd I use Breath, when I took 1 hit I used Ancient Blessing to keep hp up, and whenever Whirlpool is about to go off, I use Proto-Strike to avoid damage.

He's not very hard. Start off with a pet that has a dragonkin attack, like the scourged whelpling, then finish off the two beasts with mechanicals. Used the darkmoon tonk and Mini Thor to do this, but any mechs should do I think. You can check out the video here : http://youtu.be/tEJ56XE1kS8.

I personally downed him using: Infinite Whelpling > Landro's Lil XT > Pocket Reaver. It worked like a charm. ^^
P.S. - Keep in mind this strategy will not work if your "Infinite Whelpling" gets crit, etc. But otherwise, it should work fine. :)

Start off with Infinite Whelpling: Tail sweep x2, Healing Flame, Tail Sweep x2. By Round 6 Syd should be dead and your infinite whelpling should have Whirlpool on em and facing off with Mr. Pointy with your whelp's death at round 7.
Next send in Landro. Use: XE-321 Boombot (while he's setting up his Trihorn Shield), Heartbroken, Zap x2, and boom goes the Boombot along with Mr. Pointy. :D
Lastly, he will send in Otty and Landro should still be alive long enough to send out 1 Zap or XE-231 Boombot. Landro will die, bringing you up to your Pocket Reaver! Use: Supercharge & then Metal Fist until Otty is down.

After a little experimenting, I was able to get him with a team of, ironically, all post-6.0.2 pets.

Bronze Whelpling (2,1,1) (S/S or H/S)
Iron Starlette (1,1,1) (mine is P/S, but I think any breed should work)

Start with the Whelpling, use Fly to avoid his first Whirlpool, Tail Sweep otherwise. Once Syd dies, use Early Advantage the first turn against Mr. Pointy, then Tail Sweep until the Whelpling dies. Bring out the carry pet, then immediately swap to the Starlette. One Powerball, Wind-up, and Wind-up will kill Mr. Pointy. Then Wind-up, Supercharge, and Wind-up will handle Otto.

As an alternate approach, I found Moth and a Raven worked reasonably against Mr. Pointy and Otto. Nearly all their attacks are weak against flyers (the exception being Otto's Darkmoon Curse, which is low damage anyway).

So my lineup was:
- Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling vs Syd
- (Nearly) any Moth vs Mr. Pointy
- Raven/Crow/Dread Hatchling (although another Moth may work too) vs Otto

I tried both a Scourged Whelpling and a Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling against Syd, and ended up sticking with the Dragonling because its Bombing Run would also get some good damage into Mr. Pointy. However occasionally my Dragonling would be killed before it had killed Syd, and that significantly hurt my odds of winning the fight.

After the Dragonling died I sent in the Moth.

The Moth then uses Moth Dust and attempts to overlap Cocoon Strike against Mr. Pointy's Impale (unfortunately Pointy does not use this predictably on CD). The Trihorn Shield is unhelpful against most moths' multi-strike baseline attacks, but just about every pet battler is likely at have at least one high level Moth & they can reliably beat Pointy.

So after the Moth has taken down Mr. Pointy, it will probably be fairly quickly killed by Otto.

A Raven or Crow will work passably against Otto & should be another fairly commonly owned pet. The combination of Call Darkness and Nocturnal Strike should get Otto down shortly before he kills your pet. Another Moth would potentially work against Otto too - just use Cocoon Strike on CD against his higher damage attacks & try to stun him as much as possible.

So that's an approach which uses two common pet families - not ideal, but it'll get the battle done.

So, I used:
Netherspace Abyssal (Crush, Immolation, Meteor Strike)
Darkmoon Tonk (Missile, Shock and Awe, Ion Cannon)
Menagerie Custodian (Zap, Shock and Awe, Ion Cannon)

Begin with Immolation, followed by crush, this works nicely to remove Syd's bubble, use Meteor Strike when his whirlpool is going to hit. Netherspace is the perfect counter for Syd (IMO), finish off Syd then do as much damage against his Mr Pointy.

Next, just use your Tonk and Menagerie as required to down his two beasts. Pretty easy.

The main point here, is that Nether Space is PERFECT against Syd.

Finally got round to doing this Tamer, unfortunately I lost my first first Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling didn't cut the mustard.

Beat him with a Lil Deathwing, Darkmoon Tonk and Darkmoon Zeppelin with 50 hp on the tonk to spare. :)

I haven't had problems using Elfin Rabbit, Oasis Moth(amber moth didn't have enough health), and Darkmoon Tonk (even when I accidentally stunned) (I was online very early, and have had the opportunity to complete the quest twice so far. It was a one-shot both times with this team.)

Syd the Squid goes down easily enough with Elfin Rabbit's Flurry, and using Dodge and Burrow dodges his harder hitting moves. Flurry also usually breaks his bubble in one turn. Switch out immediately after you kill him, the ER is useless for Mr. Pointy.

Mr. Pointy is rough. Switch out the Darkmoon Tonk and use Lock On until he's at low enough health to use something else (that would take one turn.)

Oasis Moth should be out immediately after defeating Mr. Pointy. (If you had to cut down Mr. Pointy with your oasis moth, that's okay.) Otto doesn't hit as hard as Mr. Pointy, but she still hits hard enough that the Amber Moth just didn't cut it. Use Cocoon Strike immediately, and on cooldown, so it blocks her Darkmoon Curse. Use Moth Dust on cooldown, and use Alpha Strike rather than Slicing Wind.

If your Oasis Moth dies, you should still have the Elfin Rabbit as back up, and you should be able to defeat Otto from there.

My general advice for defeating Syd the Squid is to use the pet you used to take down Thundering Pandaren Spirit's first pet, if you don't have an Elfin Rabbit, or a pet with a similar moveset.

If you wanna level a pet with this trainer:
- first of any pet you think will survive (Scourged Whelpling is a nice choice)
- Mechanical Squierl: Extra Plating for survival, Wind-Up, spam Metal Fist until the shield is down, then Wind-Up again to kill
- For the cow you'll prolly be able to just Wind-Up twice for a heavy attack
- Use your leveling pet to finish the deal (ideally lvl 23, bonus if it's flying)

Easy fight. Some of my pets were not at level 25 either. I used:

Scourged Whelpling vs Syd

Clockwork Gnome vs Mr. Pointy

Cogblade Raptor vs Otto

With Scourged Whelpling use Death and Decay, Plagued Blood, then Tailsweep until Syd dies.

Then with Clockwork Gnome use Launch Rocket twice then Metal Fist until Mr. Pointy dies.

Finally with Cogblade Raptor use Exposed Wounds, Overtune, then Batter until Otto dies.

Should be a cakewalk!

A dragonkin and two mechanicals will probably win the fight for you, but if you have the Iron Starlette from the WoD pre-event then you can practically one shot his last pet Otto.

Got 2581hit on him without even critting, so if you are looking for a mechanical pet to bring I would highly recommend the Starlette! :) (Go to around 3.40 if you are not interested in checking the entire fight).

My complete lineup was Emerald Proto-Whelp, Darkmoon Zeppelin and the Iron Starlette.

Clockwork Gnome (Launch Rocket and Metal Fist)
Robo-Chick (Wind-Up and Overtune)

Beat him first try no problems, great combo and no hard to get pets :).

Here's an easy combo that uses common pets that you can tame or buy on the AH. (You can use any Dragonkin in the first slot and any Mechanical in the second slot as long as they have similar skill sets.)

Wild Crimson Hatchling vs. Syd (Magic - Octopus)

Cast Scorched Earth to add bonus damage, enemy will cast Whirlpool.
Cast Breath. Enemy casts Bubble which makes him immune to attacks for two rounds, but he'll still take damage from Scorched Earth.
Cast Lift-off to void the last round of Whirlpool damage.
Spam Breath and Scorched Earth (on cooldown) until you die. You will miss twice because of his avoidance with Bubble. The enemy should die as well.
Swap.

Blue Clockwork Rocket Bot vs. Mr. Pointy (Beast - Triceratops)

Continue using Hatchling until it is dead. Use Scorched Earth when it comes off cooldown, if you can.
Enemy will cast Thorn Shield to reduce damage. Cast Launch Rocket to build your rocket.
Cast Toxic Smoke to add damage that ticks every round.
Cast Launch Rocket to damage.
Spam Missile until enemy dies.
Swap.

Robo Chick (P/S or S/S preferred) vs. Otto (Beast - cow)

If you don't have the speed advantage (depends on breed), cast Overtune. Otherwise skip to next step.
Cast Wind-up to prep.
Cast Wind-Up to damage.
Cast Overtune to get speed advantage (if necessary).
Spam Batter until enemy dies.

I used a green onyxian whelp, darkmoon zeppelin and the iron starlette. All lvl 25

Whelp has, Tail Sweep, Healing Flame, and Fly
Darkmoon Zeppelin has Missile, Explode, and Decoy
Iron Starlette has Demolish, Toxic Smoke and Supercharge

Christoph kicks off with the octopus and will generally lay down whirlpool.
Tail sweep until the whirlpool has 1 turn left, use fly to avoid it, then healing flame whatever damage that has been taken. Then just tail whip til dead.

He'll then bring out the direhorn runt.

Whelp just tail sweep or fly if its available he will die to the runt.

Next bring out the Zepp, Use decoy to wear if he uses his big strike, then just missile him down and the turn prior to him exploding prep him with explode to finish off the runt.

Should leave you with your Starlette and the cow.

Supercharge him first then demo, hopefully this hits and does a substantial amount of damage like around 1.9k then just toxic smoke him down should leave you with the starlette alive

2 pet strategy with no special hard to obtain pets required

Pet 1 Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling 1 2 2
Pet 2 Blue Clockwork Rocket Bot 1 2 2
Pet 3 Any pet ,this pet can be a high level carry pet or any other pet that can get 1 or 2 hits off. I have not needed the 3rd slot pet yet.

Syd
Thunderbolt, Decoy, Breath until dead.

Mr. Pointy
Thunderbolt, breath until your dragonling dies.
Bring out your Rocket bot and minefield immediately. use the next 2 rounds for launch rocket then use missle until Mr. Pointy dies.

Otto
Otto will start out at around half health because of thunderbolt and minefield so just use missile 2-3x until he dies, or get him 1 hit from death and let your clockwork rocket bot die so you can bring in a carry pet.

I used Breath on Syd. Tried to save Lift Off for the Whirlpool but mistimed it. Used a Healing Flame and then finished him off with Breath.

Mr. Pointy killed my whelping so I brought out the Clockwork Gnome. Pointy puts up a damage reducing shield for 3 rounds. A small annoyance. Used Launch Rocket on cooldown.

Otto came out. Again Launch Rocket. Otto eventually got my Clockwork Gnome. Used Shock and Awe from Tonk on Otto then killed him with Ion Cannon. Tonk was never close to dying.

I 2-"manned" it with:

Warbot and Alpine Foxling(S/S) (and third was a levelling pet, elekk plushie can be used with this setup for the achievement), the Foxling must be a S/S for this to work and rare quality on both Warbot and Foxling.

Pet order was: Level pet -> Alpine Foxling (S/S) -> Warbot

Turn 1: Level Pet uses anything that doesn't stun or causes it to be unable to switch
Turn 2: Switch in Alpine Foxling
Turn 3: Flurry
Turn 4: Howl
Turn 5: Flurry
Turn 6: Flurry -- Syd the Squid should die here --
** One of the Flurrys on turn 5 and 6 needs to be 3 strikes **
Turn 7: Dazzling Dance -- Your Foxling will die this turn --

Disgusting Oozeling - Ooze Touch, Corrosion, Expunge
Tranquil Mechanical Yeti - Metal Fist, Call Lightning, Ion Cannon
Clockwork Gnome - Metal Fist, {unused}, Build Turret

Syd: Disgusting Oozling is chosen because Syd's damage attacks are weak against Magic pets. Lead with Expunge, then 3 Corrosions (the first 2 will be blocked by Syd's bubble), then Expunge should be available again, then Ooze Touch until dead.

Mr. Pointy: Oozling's Expunge, then Corrosion, then if you're super lucky, you'll get a Ooze Touch off. Yeti then Calls Lightning, then Metal Fist until Mr. Pointy's next attack will knock your down. Set up Ion Cannon so that it goes off when Yeti pops back up from this. Mr. Pointy should be done.

Otto: Yeti will be recovering from Ion Cannon, so will likely get wiped out before he can do anything. Clockwork Gnome should Build Turret, then Metal Fist until Build Turret is available again. Then Metal Fist until VICTORY!

Want to kill this with two pets only to level another? Here's a reliable strategy, using the new Iron Starlette (1,1,1), and Pocket Reaver (P/P) (1,2,1). Please note the pet you want to level must be able to take one hit (around 400 dmg) from Mr. Otto. You start with Pocket Reaver

1: Use Quake, it will go on for 3 rounds
2: Quake continues
3: Quake continues
4: Fel Immolate
5: Metal fist
6: Quake, your reaver will die, ress and die again
7: Bring in Iron Starlette and Powerball to gain speed buff (important)
8: Powerball again to kill Syd, Mr.Pointy will join the fight
9: Wind Up
10: Wind Up again to kill Mr. Pointy, Otto joins the fight
11: Wind up
12: Swicth to your leveling pet, it needs to survive a 400 dmg hit from Otto
13: Switch to Iron Starlette again
14: Supercharge (iron starette will die and ress)
15: Wind up to one shot otto

Got him easily with Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling with Flame Breath, Decoy Flame Breath x3 then bombing run on next pet. Swap in Darkmoon Zeppelin then throw down decoy, missile, bombing run missile x 2, then missile next pet. Then used clockwork gnome for 1 metal fist and dead cow.

Also have had great success with Mech. Pan. Dragonling + Mech. Yeti + Darkmoon Tonk or Zeppelin.

I used a Scourged Whelping, Wild Jade Hatchling (breath/lightning/liftoff) and Darkmoon Tonk. A little RNG but very successful so far.

I've done this pretty easily with Mech. Pandaren Dragonling (normal fire,bombing run,decoy), Zep with the same array, and then tranq Yeti. The yeti just mangles either one of the beasties with Lightning storm + Ion Cannon.

1. Spawn of Onyxia - Tail Sweep, Scorched Earth, Lift-Off
2. Darkmoon Tonk - Missile, Minefield, Ion Cannon
3. Cogblade Raptor - Batter, Overtune, Exposed Wounds

I must have gotten a few lucky hits, because by the time my Darkmoon Tonk died, Otto was more than half dead. Minefield blew up on him, my Tonk died, and the Cogblade Raptor finished him off with a single Batter, lol. All of my pets were rare quality (blue names).

Cast Breath, Thunderbolt (during Syd's bubble,) Decoy (to take the whirlpool,) Breath, Breath, Thunderbolt = Syd dead
Dragonling was then killed by Mr. Pointy. Brought out my Darkmoon Tonk. Cast Minefield, Ion Cannon, Missile, then killed by Mr. Pointy who had 52 health left. Finished him off by Raven with an Alpha Strike.
Otto is hit by the minefield coming out, then a Call Darkness and Nocturnal Strike.

I was able to beat Christoph with the following lineup, after losing once due to some unfortunate crits from Syd:

- Lil' Tarecgosa
- Darkmoon Tonk
- Dread Hatchling

It was important to beat Syd with Lil' Tarecgosa even though she dies to the next pet, guaranteed. If you can survive and beat Syd, you should be golden. Use the Breath ability first round. Second round use Wild Magic, since Syd will use his block ability and you won't do any damage anyway. From this point on, just keep using Breath and hope Syd doesn't crit you and you should be fine.

Mr. Pointy will defeat your Lil' Tarecgosa, so bring in your Darkmoon Tonk. Start with the Shock and Awe ability, then apply Lock-On. It should be fairly straight forward, and if Christoph swaps to Otto, apply Lock-On from the start, again to damage, then use Missile and Shock and Awe when available.

Your tonk will eventually lose but the Dread Hatchling, with its high speed, should be able to clean up without a problem. The catch is surviving the first battle with Syd intact.

Beating both Trainers with same team, same order:

Alpine Foxling (S/S) 2-2-2
Warbot 1-2-1
Clockwork Gnome 1-2-2

--> Alpine Foxling: Howl, Flurry, Flurry (repeat till death)
--> Warbot: Extra Plating, Missile, Missile, Missile, ... don't forget Minefield before dying!
--> Clockwork Gnome: Launch rocket (repeat till enemy low life, then Fist)

I've found a way to kill his team with 2 pets, allowing a third pet at any level to gain experience. I used the team three times with success so far. Despite its potency against this team, I have not used Iron Starlette for this fight yet since this has been successful for me each time.

-Scourged Whelpling H/H Breed ONLY (Tail Sweep, Death and Decay, Plagued Blood)
-Mechanical Squirrel S/B Breed, upgraded to rare quality (Metal Fist, Extra Plating, Wind-Up)
-Any pet you wish to level

The enemy team's turns are predictable, so i was able to use the same rotation each time:

-Syd
Turn 1: Open with Scourged Whelpling. Cast Death and Decay.
Turn 2: Switch to Leveling Pet
Turn 3: Switch back to Scourged Whelpling. Syd's Bubble should be gone from Death and Decay.
Turn 4+: Tail Sweep until Syd dies.

-Mr. Pointy
Turn 1: Tail Sweep
Turn 2: Tail Sweep if Scourged Whelpling is still alive. Otherwise, switch to Mechanical Squirrel if Scourged Whelpling is dead and continue with turn 3.
Turn 3: Extra Plating
Turn 4: Wind-Up
Turn 5: Metal Fist
Turn 6: Wind-Up (Should kill Mr. Pointy)

Otto
Turn 1: Wind-Up
Turn 2: Extra Plating (Otto will waste his Feed while he has full health)
Turn 3-5: Metal Fist
Turn 6: Wind-Up

I prefer Onyxian Whelpling for Syd, you can Scorched Earth at the start, which does a good amount of damage, Breath second round, then Lift Off to avoid Syd's Whirlpool. You should get Syd down with a good chunk of health left. You'll probably have a Whirlpool on you that will kill you but by that time you should have ton a fair amount of damage to Mr. Pointy.

Second pet, I go for Skywisp Moth, as it's a flying pet, so takes less damage from the 2 beasts left and also has a Mechanical attack Call Lightning. I combined that with Cocoon Strike and Slicing Wind (would be interesting to see how Reckless Strike plays out). That easily got through Mr. Pointy and a chunk into Otto.

I then finished Otto off with another moth (Garden Moth), using Moth Dust, Cocoon Strike, and Alpha Strike

Decided to throw my hat in the ring for a strat that works for me.

For Syd we got a couple choices. Onyxian Whelpling, Spawn of Onyxia, Crimson Whelpling, or Wild Crimson Hatchling. You'll want them to know Tail Whip, Scorched Earth, and Lift-Off. He'll open with Whirlpool, blast him with Scorched Earth. He'll Bubble, one Tail Whip. Now time to Lift-Off to avoid Whirlpool, Bubble is gone. Tail Whip him dead.

Next for Mr. Pointy you want Blue Clockwork Rocket bot with Batter, Minefield, and Launch Rocket. When he uses his powerful shield here's what you do. Lasts 3 rounds. During that time you'll barely do pinpricks to him. Thrown down a Minefield. Then prepare a rocket. Batter him once cause it's better than nothing. When shield drops blast him with the rocket. Another Batter should do it.

Third guy comes out. Prepare another Rocket, then Batter until you die. Bring out any remaining pet which knows Launch Rocket. The normal Clockwork Bot, Clockwork Gnome, Lil' Bling, Warbot, you name it. Thing is, he can launch the Rocket the Blue Bot set up. After that blasting down the cow should be academic. Good luck.

If you have either Landro's Lil' XT or Lil' XT grouped with a Cogblade Raptor, you can duo both Jeremy and Christoph with just those two pets.

Start with your XT
>Zap
>Heartbroken
>Tympanic Tantrum
>Zap if you're alive still

Once your XT dies, get your Cogblade out and Batter everything to death. :)

Helps if you're going for An Awfully Big Adventure.

Had a fairly easy two pet combo for this:

Thundering Serpent Hatchling (Tail Sweep, Call Lightning, Lift-Off)
Pocket Reaver (Metal Fist, Quake, Supercharge)

My setup went:

Call Lightning
Swap to Pocket Reaver
Supercharge
Quake (until finish).
Bring Thundering back in
Tail Sweep on Syd until he dies.
Call lightning the triceratops
Lift Off to avoid whirlpool
Tail Sweep the cow until she dies

I only ended up with this once and there were a couple of crits but my thundering had plenty of health to take another round if needed. The dmg on the tric was enough that even without the crits he would have been dead.

Hope this works for others. I'll try it again later this week.

Didn't have the pets other people suggested for a 2 man team for An Awfully Big Adventure, used:
Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling (Breath/Thunderbolt/Decoy)
Chi-Chi, Hatchling of Chi-Ji (Fire Quills/Tranquility/Ethereal)
1: Breath
2: Decoy
3: Thunderbolt
4: Breath
5: Breath
6: Breath - Syd might die here if you crit.
7: Breath - Syd dies for sure. Mech gets rezzed.
8: Thunderbolt - Mech dies. If you're still up, hit him with another Breath. Chi Chi comes out! The goal here is to Tranq/Ethereal/Tranq while his shield is up, so adjust your attacks to that priority.
9: Fire Quills
10: Tranquility
11: Ethereal
12: Tranquility
13: Fire Quills
14: Fire Quills - His shield should still be on CD. Mr Pointy might die here dependent on Mech dmg/RNG/how many times you hit.
If not:
15: Tranquility
16: Ethereal
17: Tranquility
18: Fire Quills - Mr. Pointy dies for sure.
When Otto comes out, the goal here is to keep your health as high as possible to maintain speed advantage for extra Fire Quill damage. So keep Tranquility up every turn, and use Ethereal against Feed. Fire Quills in between and he should drop.

I did fail once before I succeeded and couldn't test more after that. I was using Ethereal against Darkmoon Curse initially and realized that that was not ideal. So, not perfect but, seemed reliable enough.

If things go wrong on Otto and darkmoon curse activates your revive early, then skip supercharge and just windup to at least knock off some hp before your iron starlette bites it. Then bring in the rabbit and dodge whenever darkmoon curse comes off cooldown (avoids the reduced damage debuff and blocks the cow's heal) + use burrow to block a hit once dodge fades.

The Grasslands Cottontail (s/s) is the rabbit with the highest amount of power that still remains faster than your opponent's lineup. So while any fast rabbit might work, the cottontail seals your victory by hitting extremely hard.

Íf this character disappears from sight, then here's how to complete the quest;

Go to Menu-> key bindings -> targeting (scroll towards the bottom).
Find interact with target and set it your preferred key.
Back to game
Type /tar Chris (this should target the pesky rogue pet battler)
Press your previously set key.
Enjoy disappointing bag reward ;)

For those looking for a strat for the "an awfully big adventure"/ Christopher VonFeasal, I got through them using a clockwork gnome and a scourged whelpling. The gnome was set for Metal Fist, Repair and Build turret ~ the whelpling was set for Tail Sweep, Death and decay and Plagued blood.
Start with the gnome and drop a turret. Swap out for the whelpling and hit with plagued blood, then death and decay. Then swap your gnome back in for another turret and then Repair. When you come out of repair, you should be nearly 100% full with the first boss down about 2/3 of life. I did a metal fist, then brought in my whelpling for the kill time to hit the next pet with plagued blood immediately, then swap in the gnome to replenish the turret and then MF. Again, should be near 100% ~ swap the whelpling in to kill and you should be able to plague blood the last pet before death. With near full life on the gnome at this point, you should be able to turret again and take down the last pet, with your plushie smiling and free.

Set up is

Enchanted broom with
Batter, Sweep and Wind Up

Lil'Bling with
SMCKTHAT.EXE, Blingtron Gift Package and Launch Rocket

Elekk Plushie

Start of by using Sweep on Syd that swaps in Otto

On otto, use Windup then Batter until Sweep will be off cooldown next turn, finish with Windup,
Otto should be dead.

Syd will be back up, now start with Windup, Syd will cast Whirlpool, this is ok as this is what you want
Now cast Sweep and Syd will swap with Mr. Pointy
Hit Mr.Pointy with Windup, that will take most of his health.
Likely Mr. Pointy will now kill your enchanted broom, plus Whirlpool will hit your now dead Broom

Now bring in Lil'Bling

Finish of with Lil'Bling and MSCKTHAT.EXE on Mr.Pointy.
You may need to hit Mr.Pointy one more time.

You will be full health when Syd comes back in
~~switch in the elekk to take the whirlpool attack from Syd~~
Don't need to switch in the Elekk any more
When Syd casts his block hit him with MSCKTHAT.EXE first then with the Gift Package which gets blocked so you heal up
Finish Syd with MSCKTHAT.EXE

Not so much ~~Some~~ luck here but that is the team I had available.
This has worked consistently now several days in a row.

Finished this part of the plushie achievement with a mechanical pandaren dragonling and an iron starlette (thanks to the very kind suggestion of someone who finished his achieve right in front of me). I led with the dragonling- thunderbolt on cd‚ breath and decoy to prevent taking a whirlpool. He managed to take out about half the second pet before dying. Iron starlette finished him off with two wind ups. Then windup/supercharge/windup nuked the cow.

start with wild jade hatchling vs Syd.

First, use tail sweep, then roar, then lift off to resist the first whirlpool, your roar and your lift off will be blocked by his bubble, but that is irrelevant, spam tail sweep, and let that second whirlpool hit, it doesn't matter. The hatchling will take the power attacks from pointy and die on turn two against pointy, switch to your clockwork gnome and just spam your rocket until mr pointy dies. Pet 3 is the wonderful cow, just spam metal fist until your gnome dies, and then comes your cogblade raptor. from here, just spam batter until the cow dies and you are golden.

Fun fact, this same team works against the other pet trainer too, though it is a little more difficult. for that team, start with jade, roar, tail sweep until the eye dies, then use tail sweep once, then use lift-off to avoid one big attack, until your dragon dies as well, next pull out your raptor, starting with batter, batter, overtune, then batter until the tonk dies, the monkey will then come out, stun your raptor, and wreck is ever living world. If he lives, (I.E. if you timed overtune properly, use batter once for the free damage) Pull out your gnome, and spam your rocket and that monkey should be obliterated in just a few turns.

1. Flayer youngling
a) against Syd triple snap as attack, deflection on the whirpool hit round) - youngling kills syd and faces mr. pointy.
b) against Mr. Pointy - kick (stun), triple snap as attack, and deflection on the leftover whirpool and whenever ready - Youngling should get Mr. Pointy to ca. 50%

2. Menagerie custodian
a) against mr. pointy lock-on and zap should kill off mr. pointy.
b) against Otto - lock on, shock and awe and zap (Menagerie custodian dies, Otto is close to being dead)

3. Kun-lai runt (+100% to attack breed)
a) deep freeze (as hard hitting attack, doesnt matter if there is a stun or not) and takedown as an attack that should finish the battle

Two pet carry strat, your carry pet can be any level, any type, it will not take damage. You want to kill Syd so that his third whirlpool will go off the turn after he dies. Adjust Nether Blast and Drain Power to adapt to crits and such.

I used my Onyxian Whelping to take care of Syd. Breath, Healing, Breath, etc.
I used a Clockwork Gnome on Mr Pointy. Metal Fist, Launch Rocket, LR, LR, etc.
For Otto, my Iron Starlette worked well. Wind-Up, Toxic Smoke, Supercharge, Wind-up, etc.

If anyone is interested in how I took him down having Elekk Plushie in my team:

Scourged Whelp - Tail Sweep, Death & Decay, Plagued Blood
Iron Starlette - Wind-Up, Powerball, Supercharge
Elekk Plushie

Enter with Scourged Whelp, cast Plagued Blood, Death & Decay, Tail Sweep (it will miss, but doesn't matter) keep Tail Sweeping the squid till it's dead. You should be able to put Plagued Blood and refresh the Death & Decay before your whelp dies to Mr. Pointy.
Bring Iron Starlette and Wind-up, then Powerball untill Pointy's shield drop. Second use of Wind-up will kill him.
The cow will enter, cast your Wind-up, immediately after - Supercharge and Wind-up again and that pretty much one-shots the enemy pet.

This strategy worked for me, hope it works for you too!

His name "Christoph Willikens Dennis Ragnaros VonFeasel the First" contains a reference. Dennis Rag(naros) is a term popularly used by Hearthstone streamers for the situation in which Ragnaros the Firelord, often undesirably, hits the enemy hero instead of clearing a big minion from the board.

The term originates from a game between a streamer named Kripparrian and a player with the name Dennis. Dennis became known for his misrably bad decision making through several bad plays, including his signature move of Smiting the enemy hero on turn 1.

What a major PiA! As I don't have the Iron Starlette max'd yet - which seems to be the favored pet - I tried a number of recommended combos with bad RNG. Finally used:

Wild Crimson Hatchling 2,2,1
Darkmoon Tonk 1,1,1
Darkmoon Zeppelin 1,1,2

I think the Tonk could have been something else. Going to get the last few levels on some other mechs and see if they'd work.

My strategy isn't much different or special from a lot of the ones already posted, but I'll share anyways. I like this setup since you can use it on both the Faire battles (Christoph and Jeremy) and don't have to switch around pets.
I've used this strategy for close to a year, and there are very few occasions where there is variation from what I've posted. However, if you get hit with a crit at any point, you will almost certainly have to restart. But that's the case with a lot of strategies.

Scourged Whelpling vs. Syd
Use Plagued Blood
Use Death and Decay
Use Tail Sweep 4 times; the first will be blocked by Syd's bubble. Syd should be dead now.

Scourged Whelpling vs. Mr. Pointy (your whelpling will be around 1/3 HP)
Use Plagued Blood
Use Tail Sweep, you will die and revive here
Use Death and Decay so it has its maximum possible duration for the remainder of the fight. Whelpling now dies for good.

Tonk vs. Mr. Pointy
Note: do not use Shock and Awe against Mr. Pointy because you do not want him to get stunned and switched out
Use Lock-On twice so it fires. Make sure Mr. Pointy's damage reduction buff is gone before you fire. (If for some reason it's still up, just Missile in the meantime.)
Missile once and Mr. Pointy should be dead. If not, keep using Missile until that is true

Tonk vs. Otto (your tonk will be around 1/3 HP)
Use Shock and Awe
2nd turn - If Otto gets stunned - use Lock-On (the actual use of it on turn 3 will be after you revive from mechanical passive)
2nd turn - If Otto is not stunned - no biggie. Use Missile. This will most likely be the last time your tonk is able to attack.
If your tonk is still somehow alive, just use Missile until it dies.

Gnome vs. Otto
Use Build Turret
Use Metal Fist twice and Otto should die.

Scourged Whelpling took out Syd. Lil Bling took out Mr Pointy. Onyxian Whelpling took out Otto, almost one shot with Deep Breath.

Here is my idea of how to use Christoph vonFeasel for power leveling a pet or carrying the Elekk Plushie. For this fight and to use Elekk Plushie for an Awfully Big Adventure, I used Kharano's pet choices but with a change thanks to Cloudblueeyes I was able to 2 pet this as follows:

I 2-"manned" it with:

Warbot and Alpine Foxling(S/S) and third was elekk plushie. The Foxling must be a S/S for this to work and rare quality on both Warbot and Foxling.

Pet order was: Alpine Foxling (S/S) -> Warbot -> Elekk Plushie

Turn 1: Dazzling Dance
Turn 2: Howl
Turn 3: Flurry
Turn 4: Flurry
Turn 5: Flurry

This Strat is for "An Awfully Big Adventure". I was having all kinds of trouble and unable to do this guy with any setup that I had found. Here is how I finally did it.

Pets: Fossilized Hatchling (2,2,2) and Lil' Bling (1,2,2)

Round 1: Death and Decay
Round 2: Bonestorm
Round 3: Bone Bite
Round 4: Bone Bite
Round 5: Bone Bite
Round 6: Bonestorm
Round 7: Bone Bite (Syd dies as does your Hatchling)

Bring in Lil' Bling
Round 8: Launch Rocket
Round 9: Extra Plating
Round 10: Launch Rocket
Round 11: Launch Rocket
Round 12: Launch Rocket (Mr. Pointy dies)

Strategy which worked for me; rehash of strats posted above.
Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling with Breath, Thunderbolt and Decoy
Clockwork Gnome with Metal Fist and Launch Rocket
Rascal-Bot with Phaser and Lens Flare

First up is the Dragonling. Send him out and immediately use Thunderbolt to do some damage to all the other team. In all the attempts I've made, Syd was first and always used Whirlpool here.
Next use Decoy - Syd will likely use bubble.
Breath x4
Thunderbolt
Die.
Syd should have died by this point unless you got unlucky. If he's still alive, Send out your gnome anyway and Metal Fist him - your gnome SHOULD be able to take the whirlpool damage and still be able to take out the dinosaur with some health spare (or at least after ressurecting himself)
Send out your Clockwork Gnome.
Launch Rocket x4 (it's a 2-turn attack, so you're using the actual attacking part twice, and the actual button on your bars 4 times)
Mr Pointy should be dead by now, thanks to the big damage of the rocket and the damage from the Thunderstorms from earlier.
Since your Clockwork Gnome will have likely used his failsafe, smack dat cow with a metal fist and mourn poor Gnomey as he dies.
Send out your last defender, use Lens Flare to up his miss chance and finally
Spam away with Phaser.
(OPTIONAL: After each Lens Flare has applied the debuff, wonder how this wondercow NEVER MISSES WITH THE 50% HITCHANCE ABILITY WHICH HITS LIKE A TRUCK AND HEALS HIM TO BOOT MY LAWD)

Note: this strat relies on failsafes from your mechanical pets. I've used it multiple times myself and it's worked all times. It's not worth healing up your Rascal-Bot or Clockwork Gnome as the damage they sustain while in their downtime will either kill them/put you right back at the health you were.

I hope this helps you guys, and remember: If I could come up with a working strategy ~~even if I did rely heavily on what other people had already said~~ then so can you!

Just 2-petted this using an S/S Alpine Foxling and Darkmoon Tonk.

I used Howl on cooldown and Flurry to kill Syd with the Alpine Foxling.
Dazzling Dance basically wastes a turn if you're using an S/S species because you already have higher speed than Syd so there's no point using it.

Alpine Foxling was killed by Mr Pointy, from then on with the Darkmoon Tonk I used Shock and Awe on CD and Lock-on until low HP then finished off with Missile. Shock and Awe causes Mr Pointy and and Otto to switch but it wasn't an issue.

Didn't need my third pet at all (which was Lil Bling).

I was able to 2 pet this for an elekk carry for An Awfully Big Adventure using a Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling (1-2-2) and a Warbot (1-2-2).

Unfortunately I didn't write down my step by step moves, but you have to pay attention to the buffs and debuffs in this fight to time it right, especially with the launch rocket.

Beat him with this strategy:

Oily Slimeling
With Ooze Touch, Corrosion and Expunge
Nether Ray Fry
With Bite, Tail Sweep and Lash
Darkmoon Zeppelin
With Missle, Bombing Run and Decoy

Used Oily Slimeling first, use Expunge on cooldown on his Syd and Ooze Touch as filler, you should die both at the same time (from his Whirlpool).
Then get the Nether Ray Fry out and use Lash while his Mr. Pointy has the shield, otherwise use Bite. I got him around 10% when I died, then used my Zeppelin.
Used Bombing Run to finish Mr. Pointy, then use Decoy and spam Missle. If possible, use Decoy as often as possible.
This should get you the victory!

Anodized Robo cub and used Supercharge and Demolish, which only has a 50%

After a few hours of testing I can safely say that this is one of the most ~~annoying~~ restrictive trainers when it comes to your pet choices, at least if you want to level a pet on the side.
The two strategies I found working best are from Cloudblueyes and a variation of Naiive's strategy, using these pets:

1. From Cloudblueyes (100% reliability)

Any Fox
Iron Starlette
Level 5+ Pet

2. From Naiive (81% reliability):

Level 1+ Pet

I didn't have the Iron Starlette which seems necessary for the 2-pet leveling strategy (detailed by Naiive, Hekthor, and Cloudblueeyes) but I know what I'm going to collect next!

I just beat this with a 3-team of:
Emerald Proto-Whelp (1,1,1)
Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling (1,1,2)
Lil' Bling (1,2,1)

With Emerald Proto Whelp just use Breath and time it so that you use Proto-Strike to avoid the first Whirlpool Syd casts.
Repeat until Syd dies. If your pet dies before Syd, the Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling can clean up.
With Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling, cast Bombing Run, Decoy and Breath as filler.
I needed Lil' Bling to help kill off Otto using Make it Rain and SMCKTHAT.exe

After the last patch on 6/9/15, the Fox seems to be ineffective. I tried about 10 times and it doesn't even come close anymore. So use the Anubisath Idol instead along with Iron Starlette

I just did this fight and used

Scourged Whelping - Arctic Fox Kit and Anodized Robo Cub and it was so easy. I did the fight in this order of pets.

I started with Shadow Flame, then Call Darkness-Shadow Flame until Syd dies.
Round 5 Mr. Pointy and I started with Plagued Blood just to get some damage started and did this until SW died, then AFK came in started with Howl then used Bite until Mr. Pointy Died.
Otto comes in, applied Howl was able to get a bite off then AFK died, ARC came in, used Supercharge then Demolish and Otto Died.

Just adding another 2 pet/carry setup to the list. The advantage with this one is that it works for both Feasel and VonFeasel, so you don't have to change your set up between fights.

Setup: Pocket Reaver > Lil' Bling > Carry Pet

Feasel:

Judgement: Open with Pocket Reaver > Fel Immolate > 3 rounds of Quake > Metal Fist > Metal Fist = Judgement dead

Honkey Tonk: Open with Fel Immolate, Quake until Pocket Reaver dies > swap to Lil' Bling > Finish off with Make it Rain = Honkey Tonk dead

Fezwick: with all the quakes, Fezwick will already have a lot damage > do as much damage as possible without killing > swap to carry pet to finish = Fezwick dead

VonFeasel:

Syd: Open with Pocket Reaver > Fel Immolate > 3 rounds of Quake > Metal Fist until Pocket Reaver dies > Swap to Lil' Bling > Finish Syd with Make it Rain

Mr. Pointy: Open with SMCKTHAT.EXE > Extra Plating > SMCKTHAT.EXE through Mr. Pointy's shielding > finish with SMCKTHAT.EXE

Otto: Open with Make it Rain > SMCKTHAT.EXE until Lil' Bling dies, or Otto is very low health > swap to carry pet and finish.

I have yet to lose with this set up on either of the Feasels, although it was kinda close once on VonFeasel when Make it Rain completely missed (all three hits) twice during the battle.

So I'm "gaming-challenged" and don't know/understand the finer points of pet-battling but here is a combo that works for me that incorporates pets I have and tips found while reading the comments. It uses Scourged Whelpling (plagued blood, death and decay, tail sweep), Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling (decoy, thunderbolt, breath), and Cogblade Raptor (batter, expose wounds, overtune) all at lvl 25.

The battle goes as follows:

Syd--Scourged Whelping lays down plagued blood followed by death and decay. Then use tail sweep until Syd dies. You should have enough health left to lay down plagued blood/death and decay on Mr. Pointy before your Scourged Whelpling dies.
Mr. Pointy--Bring in your Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling next. Use Decoy followed by Thunderbolt. Then use Breath until your dragonling dies (use thunderbolt again when you get past the cooldown). Bring in your Cogblade Raptor and use Batter to finish off Mr. Pointy.
Otto--Use Expose Wounds and then Batter until Otto dies. If, for some reason, you're not faster than Otto, you'll want to use Overtune to ensure that you go first.

This has been working well for me so I hope others find it useful, too!

My current team for this guy:

1: Willy ; Tongue Lash , Eyeblast and Rot
Rot makes him take undead damage, making tongue lash a heavy hitter on him - also you might need speed to get that extra rot from tongue lash - this is why I took Eyeblast.

2. Clockwork Gnome ; Metal Fist, Repair and Build Turret
I mainly use clockwork gnome for his amazing turrets and his heavy hitting with metal fist combined with Lightning storm - adding extra damage.

2. Wild Golden Hatchling ; Breath, Call Lightning and Lift-Off
Breath for the damage against Syd (if needed), Call Lightning to make Clockwork Gnome a killing machine - also does decent damage against beast, and Lift-Off mainly to avoid but also deal decent impact damage.

I did a bit of swapping, but managed to get out alive with Willy and Golden Hatchling with 50% HP or more.

3 weebominations 1,1,1. Spam cleave until first weeb dies, spam cleave on scond weeb until at around half health and pop consume corpse, carry on spamming cleave until weeb is dead. third weeb should finish the job within 2 rounds. This works on both darkmoon faire fights. It's not pretty, but if you want to just win the fights without any fussing or worrying about missing a rotation, then this is your set up.

For those of you attempting the Elekk Plushie achievement, the strategies listed here can work but they're EXTREMELY RNG-dependent. The (Von)Feasel fights are usually hard to win with three pets, much less two, so if you're trying for that achievement, just keep trying over and over - you'll get lucky at some point. There doesn't seem to be a "magical" two pet combo.

I've tried the Scourged Whelpling/Cogblade Raptor combo several days in a row (along with other combinations) and it usually takes me about six or seven attempts to make it work. Scourged Whelpling / Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling is a little better and easily works on the Jeremy Feasel fight, but still very RNG-dependent on Christoph VonFeasel.

I think I've found the first 2-pet strategy that works for both Jeremy and his buddy Christoph for an easy way to get the Trunks achievement.

You use the same 2 pets, Graves (1,1,2) and Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling (1,2,2). Begin with Graves, use Bonestorm, followed by Grave Destruction, followed by spamming Skull Toss until you die and are resurrected, then one last Bonestorm. Next, use Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling's Thunderbolt on CD, Decoy when something big is coming, and otherwise Breath. Takes a little RNG to kill Christoph but easily deals with Jeremy. Enjoy!

For the Awfully Big Adventure Achievement against Christoph Vonfeasel this works great. Easy pets to get and very quick.

Alpine Hare or any critter with Stampede and Flurry (Must be faster then Syd. Mine was 322.) and Iron Starlette

The team I used against Christoph VonFeasel, the boastful brother of Jeremy Feasel, is:

Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling with Breath/Thunderbolt/Decoy
Iron Starlette with Wind-up/Toxic Smoke/Supercharge
Lil' Bling with SMCKTHAT.exe/Blingtron Gift Package/Launch Rocket

Round 1 - M.P.D Versus Syd:
------------------------------------------
1. Open with MPD and use Breath. Syd always starts with Whirlpool.
2. Use Thunderbolt as Syd uses Bubble on the second turn (Syd blocks the Thunderbolt, while the 2 other pets take damage), then use Decoy when Whirlpool attack reaches one turn left.
3. Keep spamming Breath until Syd dies*. M.P.D also dies at this point BUT thanks to the passive it can do one last attack before dying to the next pet, Mr. Pointy.
4. Use Thunderbolt while Mr. Pointy kills M.P.D using Impale (which deals x2 damage if the target is below 25% HP)

*If you have bad luck on doing high damage and getting critically hit by Syd multiple times, quit the battle, heal up using a bandage and start again.

Round 2 - Iron Starlette Versus Mr. Pointy:

1. Mr. Pointy starts by using Trihorn Shield. Use Wind-up to get the big OHK ready for the next step.
2. Use Supercharge to power-up the Wind-up.
3. Use Wind-up and KABOOM! Insta-kill! Mr. Pointy cannot survive that very combo.

Round 3 - Iron Starlette Versus Otto:
-----------------------------------------------------
1. Otto always starts with Darkmoon Curse which is weak against Mechanical targets. Use Wind-up.
2. Use Toxic Smoke to ensure Otto gets damaged over-time.
3. Iron Starlette will die at this point but gets rezzed thanks to the passive. Use Wind-up at this point. The next turn is when Iron Starlette truly dies.

-ALTERNATIVE-

Switch Toxic Smoke out for Powerball and use that on Otto instead. It'll give you the speed advantage to pull off a Windup-Supercharge combo again, and insta-kill Otto. - Vandr3d

1. Otto always starts with Darkmoon Curse which is weak against Mechanical targets. Use Wind-up.
2. Otto uses Feed to heal-up. Use Powerball in this turn.
3. Use Supercharge to prepare another OHK attack. Otto will K.O Iron Starlette but will come back alive thanks to the passive.
4. Use Wind-Up, and BAM! No more Mr. Nice Otto.

Round 4 - Lil' Bling Versus Otto:

1. Is Otto around 400 HP or under? use SMCKTHAT.exe and you're done. Otherwise use SMCKTHAT.exe twice or use Launch Rocket twice and you're finished with the battle.

(Don't forget that the RNG of crit hits may not give you the upper hand at certain points, so get lucky!)

There is certainly an easy way to do this that doesn't require a big pool of specific pets:

First off
Have a critter go first vs Syd the Squid, I just used a rare Rabbit. Important here is that it has Flurry and great speed. What makes Rabbit very good is that you will be able to go under ground when Syd uses that 2 round CD which smashes most pets.

Usually the rabbit stays alive to make the first attack versus Cristoph's next pet.

Next you would want 2 mechs to defeat the last 2 Cristoph will send at you.

First mech I used was Clockwork Gnome, building turrets and using the metal fist and ofcourse it is all about timing his repair.
Clockwork only just stays alive to build a last turret before he goes down.

After that you can basicly send in any mech to finish it off, I used Lil' Bling, because that is my only lvl25 mech besides Clockwork, and he defeated the rest of the cow like a walk in the park.

Took me one try to know the fight, and another try to defeat him.

I wanted to add my team in here for folks (like me) who may not have Lil Bling and/or the Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling. Hopefully this will help anyone having Pet Battle woes. So my team consisted of :

Scourged Whelpling
Mechanical Scorpid
Cogblade Raptor

My Whelping was up first, I used his Tail Sweep, Death and Decay and Plagued Blood.
My attack went:
Death and Decay
Plagued Blood
Tail Sweep
Tail Sweep
Tail Sweep (maybe one more Sweep) And Syd was down. I used my last bit of HP to hit Mr. Pointy with one last Plagued Blood.

In comes my Scorpid (I created him in my lvl 3 engineering building in my garrison, engineering is not one of my main professions). I used his Wind Up, Puncture Wound and Extra Plating.
My attack went:
Puncture Wound
Extra Plating
Wind up x2 repeated twice then Puncture Wound. This drops Mr. Pointy to 77. I Wind Up once more and then Scorpid dies.He resurrects and I have just enough HP to do the second Wind up on Mr. Pointy. He's done. In comes Moo Cow. I usually get one more Wind up then Scorpid dies.

I finish with my Raptor. I used Exposed Wounds, Overtune and Batter.
I hit once with Exposed Wounds
Then Overtune
Batter
Batter
I usually hit Overtune again and then he hits me and I drop to 0 and resurrect. I finish with one last Batter. You could probably skip Overtune and hit with Batter again, but this has been working for me so I keep doing it.

This team also works for Jeremy Feasel . I just send in Mechanical Scorpid first, then my Whelping.

Use Alpine Foxling Kit first, Dazzling Dance, Howl then Flurry til dead
Send out Lil'Ragnaros use Flamethrower, Conflagrate and Sulfuras Smash
Finally send out Clockwork and use Turret first and when available and then Metal Fist

With Christoph VonFeasel

Use Alpine Foxling Kit first, Dazzling Dance, Howl then Flurry til dead
Send out Clockwork and use Turret first and when available and Metal Fist
Lastly use Lil'Ragnaros use Flamethrower, Conflagrate and Sulfuras Smash

Sometimes it doesn't work (with Alpine Foxling Flurry not hitting 2-3 times) but mostly it does and will work.

I only had to use one move and Otto was down. I used Brittle Webbing as I was setting up swarm of spiders which does double damaged when webbed

These other guys advice never worked for me, idk why, maybe because I didn't have the pets leveled I needed. But if you find yourself in the same boat, try what I do. It works every time. I have been doing these to build my rep for my insane title and have done it every day this week. I use 4 pets to take out both Jeremy Feasel and Cristoph Von Feasel.

Jeremy Feasel:

Scourged Whelpling
Anubisath Idol
Blue Clockwork Rocket Bot

Christoph Von Feasel:

Scourged Whelpling
Clockwork Gnome
Blue Clockwork Rocket Bot

I start out with Jeremy Feasel and I use my Scourged Whelpling on the Darkmoon Eye. First use Plaqued Blood and then Death and Decay. Then Tail Sweep him to death. If, and you should be still alive when Tonk comes up, lay down more Plaqued Blood and then refresh Death and Decay. By this time if you have any health left, Tail Sweep till dead. Now switch to the Anubisath Idol and throw on your Stoneskin. Now, use Rupture and or either Demolish or Crush till your Rupture comes back up, I use Demolish, it doesn't always hit but when it does it hurts. Now, you should still be alive when the Fezwick comes up, just follow the same rotation, be sure to keep your Stoneskin active till Stunned. Once you are stunned switch over to your Blue Clockwork Rocket Bot and use your Stickey Grenade and then Toxic Smoke. Then use your Missile till dead. He will kill you, but have no fear, the Stickey Grenade and your Anubisath Idol will make sure you win. If for any reason he is still up, hit him with a Rupture. There is no reason why he should be.
Next for Christoph Von Feasel, I switch out my Anubisath Idol for Clockwork Gnome and use all the same tactics except on the Gnome, I use my Launch Rocket on Mr Pointy till dead, then same tactics on Otto till dead. Again you may be low but should kill Otto when the Stickey Grenade hits. Hope this helps.

Just tested, this pet set-up still works in Legion:

Fjord Worg Pup or Worg Pup 2/X/2 (I used H/P breed Fjord Worg Pup)
Iron Starlette 1/X/1 (I used P/P breed)
Elekk Plushie or carry pet/anything else

Against Syd:
Dazzling Dance > spam Flurry

Against Mr. Pointy & Otto:
Dazzling Dance, pup dies, but both beasts are easily taken out by Iron Starlette with Wind-Up + Supercharge combo.

If using a levelling pet, swap it in after Mr. Pointy goes down, i.e. 1st round against Otto. Just make sure it can survive one Darkmoon Curse.

I spent more than 10 tokens trying to win this battle with the same lineup I'd always used before 7.0.3 and nothing was working. So here's a lineup I found that worked on the first try!

Wild Jade Hatchling - Tail sweep, Call lightning, Lift-Off to avoid whirlpool and repeat that until he dies.

Iron Starlette (I used a stone just to get it to level 25 specifically for this fight) -Wind up and supercharge, throw in a toxic smoke if you'd like.

Lil Bling - Make it Rain, Inflation..

That won the battle with 380 health left for Lil' Bling.

Eye of Observation (1/1/2) - Power ball twice until you have enough speed to go first. Arcane blast to take down the shield. Counter spell, then just blast blast blast until its dead. You'll be able to counterspell his next pet as soon as it comes out, and get a maxed out arcane blast in before your Eye dies. Then you go to..

Draenei Micro Defender (2/1/2) - Just use Ion Cannon to finish off Christoph's second pet. When the enemies last pet comes in use Batter. Then Reflective shield. Then just continue using batter until the cow is dead.

Just two pets which only come in one breed, and you've got it everytime. Unless the enemy gets an unlucky crit in I guess, but thats what extra tokens are for. You can use a Darkmoon Tonk as your third pet just in case too. (There is an added benefit that the Eye can be swapped out for a Mechanical Pandaran Dragon and the rest of your team can just be kept as is for the other trainer, with minimal switching around fuss)

I personally use Wild Crimson Hatchling (1/2/1), Mechanical Axebeak (2/2/1) and Clockwork Gnome (1/1/1).

Start with Scorched Earth, then Breath, then Lift-Off (to avoid the whirlpool damage). Keep hitting until it dies. Now it should be able to survive the next pet; fire off one last Scorched Earth for big damage.

With your MA, start with a decoy, then let Haywire rip. If it survives, peck it. Depending on my RNG, it can sometimes trade kills with it; sometimes my MA lives for an extra turn. Just attack if it survives.

With the CWG, open up the cow with a turret, then just punch punch punch! Set up 1 more turret when the CD is up, but just keep punching afterwards. It will probably kill you, but you have a self-res. The turrets will do a good chunk of your work for you. (I haven't tried repairing; it might be safer, but just attacking worked for me like a charm)

I don't have a lot of the pets other people posted -- but I beat him using the following:

1) Scourged Whelpling (Tail Sweep, Death & Decay, Plagued Blood
2) Darkmoon Zeppelin (Missile, Explode, Decoy)
3) Pocket Reaver (Thrash, Quake, Supercharge)

Turn 1: Plagued Blood
Turn 2: Death & Decay
Turn 3: Tail Sweep
(continue Tail Sweep until first pet is dead)

When the whelpling dies, bring out the Zeppelin. Use Decoy, then continue to Missile (2nd pet should die). When Otto, the third pet comes out and looks like he's about to kill the Zeppelin, use Explode--the Zeppelin will die, resurrect then self-destruct.

Then, with the Pocket Reaver -- just Supercharge, then Quake, and Otto should die. Worked for me.

Wanted to offer a Level 1 "carry pet" strategy (also works for Elekk Plushie) that has been working consistently for me, albeit a RNG reliant one. However, if u don't mind the occasional restart and paying out the extra token or two in an attempt to level-up your Level 1 pet, or earn the "tick" for the Elekk Plushie "An Awfully Big Adventure" achieve, then hopefully you will find this a suitable strategy. My thanx to Serenale for their suggestion of the Arctic Hare vs. Syd, though I have modified the configuration and tactics to accomplish the leveling element of this strategy. Also, my apologies up front. This is my first post, so the formatting may leave something to be desired.

Line-up:
1. Level 1 carry pet
2. Arctic Hare (or similar) / Breed: S/B (RARE quality is assumed)*
*this pet MUST be faster than Syd, and S/S and H/S have an inferior Power stat, so S/B is recommended. If u do not have an add-on that identifies breeds, the stats for S/B are as follows: H: 1465 / P: 240 / S: 322
Config.: FLURRY / DODGE / BURROW
3. Draenei Micro Defender (singular Breed: P/S)
Config.: BATTER / REFLECTIVE SHIELD / ION CANNON

Round 1: use Level 1 carry pet's available attack*
*if this attack is a stun, or has a chance to stun, simply pass
Round 2: switch to Arctic Hare
Round 3: DODGE
Round 4: FLURRY
Rounds 5 + 6: FLURRY
Rounds 7 + 8: BURROW
Round 9*: FLURRY
*depending on the RNG aspect of the FLURRY attack, Syd COULD be dead at this point. If not, continue with FLURRY for Round 10, take the hit from WHIRLPOOL, and continue on with the strat as detailed below. Arctic Hare will die sooner than listed, but the same attack sequence will apply when you bring in Draenei M-D.
Round 10: (vs. Mr. Pointy) FLURRY
Round 11: DODGE
Round 12: **PASS** (FLURRY will be blocked by TRIHORN SHIELD)
Rounds 13 + 14: BURROW
Round 15: FLURRY (Arctic Hare dies)
Round 16*: (bring in Draenei M-D) BATTER
*again, depending on the RNG aspect of FLURRY in the previous rounds, and BATTER in this round, Mr. Pointy COULD be dead at this point. If not, use BATTER until Mr. Pointy dies, except if TRIHORN SHIELD is activated (BATTER will be blocked). Instead, use REFLECTIVE SHIELD and let Mr. Pointy kill himself.
Round 17: (vs. Otto) BATTER (Otto will cast DARKMOON CURSE, so best to get in a round of BATTER beforehand)
Round 18: REFLECTIVE SHIELD
Round 19 and onward: BATTER until Otto has 1158 HP or less AND Otto's DARKMOON CURSE debuff has expired, then use ION CANNON (Otto dies.. and you win! WOO HOO!)

So, please remember... This strategy is RNG dependent, and like many other leveling strategies, susceptible to enemy crits, but is designed to allow you the opportunity of leveling a Level 1 or Low-level pet... or any pet at all, for that matter!

As stated, this has indeed worked consistently for me (typically on the first attempt, but not always), and I hope it will also work for you.. GOOD LUCK!

2-manned this with Scourged Whelpling (Tail Sweep / Death&Decay / Plagued Blood) and Clockwork Gnome (Metal Fist / any / Turret).

Move order:

1. Tail Sweep
2. any (he blocks it)
3. D&D
4. Tail Sweep
5. Tail Sweep (Syd dies, Mr. Pointy comes out)

Now Tail Sweep until you "die" at which point you cast Plagued Blood on the last turn. The key to this is that Plagued Blood means you get a heal for every strike of the Turret, so Gnome lasts a long time.

With the Gnome, if the Mr. Pointy's shield is about to expire then cast Turret. Otherwise use Metal Fist. He dies quickly.

Finally, for Otto, spam Turret on cooldown and use Metal Fist otherwise. Gnome may die but the turrets finish him off.

After losing the Dazzling dance strategy, this is the two-pet strategy I have found working for me more times now.

Emerald Proto-Whelp (P/P) (1; - ; 1 )
Iron Starlette (H/P) (have failed with P/S).(1; - ; 1)

Just DPS down Syd with Breath and use Proto-Strike to avoid the first Whirlpool. (Yes, his Bubble will save him from the damage, which is a bit annoying...)

Syd dies, and your drake will likely too, then get your starlette, and do the usual Wind-up - Super Charge - Wind up rota.

Pointy dies, and just as in the Dazzling rota, when Otto appears, do one Wind-up, then get your carried pet - which again needs to have around at least 800-1000 HP to survive, and not to be a Critter.)

Use one skill with the carried one, then get the Starlette back to finish with Super Charge and the second Wind-up.

I use Abyssius: Scorched Earth into Immolation breaks Bubble, Meteor Strike evades Whirlpool.

Then, while Syd is still alive, I swap out Abyssius for Iron Starlette. Wind-Up, Supercharge, Wind-Up kills Mr. Pointy in one hit despite the shield.

Then I try to whittle Otto down until Iron Starlette dies, and bring in Darkmoon Tonk. Shock and Awe into Ion Cannon are enough to kill Otto without much trouble.

Cristopher VonFeasel - 2 Pet Strategy Darkmoon Faire

Here is my 2 Pet Strategy for Cristopher VonFeasel from the Darkmoon Faire, you battle him on ever day the week that the Darkmoon Faire is in Town. I used the Bronze Whelpling & the Iron Starlet with my carry pet in the 3rd spot.

Bronze Whelpling - Tail Sweep, Early Advantage & Lift Off
Iron Starlet - Wind Up, Power Ball & Super Charge
Carry Pet

Real simple fight her, open vs Syd with the Bronze Whelpling using Tail Sweep constantly until the Syd's Whirlpool is about to hit you then yous Lift Off to avoid that damage. Continue Tail Sweep till he is dead. You should have a small bit of life left when My. Pointy enters, use Early Advantage on him, he will end you afterwards.Bring in your carry pet and take him right out, no move is necessary since your carry didn't start the fight. Bring in the Iron Starlet and use Power Ball to get the speed advantage. Now use wind up twice for the kill, if you had bad rng you may need to use a 2nd power ball to kill him off. Now Otto enters the battle use wind up, super charge and wind up to end this battle.You get like 4500 xp for a carry pet I believe.

I was really getting frustrated with this guy trying to 2 pet him for the Plushie achievement. There is a strategy on here with a fast Rabbit and the Iron Starlette, but it still wasn't working after many attempts. I altered it a bit and finally got him down. I found that leading with the Iron Starlette, using powerball, and then subbing him out for the Plushie to soak the damage and whirlpool was better. Then I brought the rabbit in and followed the tips previously posted on this thread with these 2 pets. By speeding the Iron Starlette up before he enters the fights with the beasts, he was able to go first and get his windups and supercharge off in time.

I hope this helps someone - I almost gave up, but this worked very well.

Unfortunately many 2-pet strategies here aren't valid anymore due to a Howl nerf.

EDIT @ cchilaquil comment: before you start, if you have a Molten Corgi have a look at this strat (right-click to open).

Here's one that not immune to bad RNG, but in most cases works well :

Arctic Hare (2,2,1) , or any rabbit with the same abilities.
Iron Starlette (1,1,1)

1. Iron Starlette > Powerball
2. Switch to rabbit > Dodge
3. Switch to Iron Starlette > Wind-Up
4. Switch to rabbit > Burrow
* From here - cast Flurry, and use Dodge/Burrow when Whirlpool is about to do damage.
* If a bad RNG killed your rabbit - restart.
* In most cases you will end up killing Syd with little hp left, and facing Mr.Pointy.
5. Switch to Iron Starlette > Supercharge > Wind-Up
* Mr.Pointy is 1-shoted (even with shield on). you are now facing the cow.
6. Cast Wind-Up, and switch to rabbit/Plushie/leveler.
7. Get 1 hit and switch back to Iron Starlette.
8. Cast Supercharge > Wind-Up.
* The cow is 1-shotted too.

note: there are better options for the first pet instead of a rabbit like Molten Corgi or Hyjal Wisp, but they are less common and it doesnt really matter. The point is just to bring the Starlette with high hp and its 2 buffs to the second boss, so use w/e you got.

Against Sid: Tail sweep twice. Lift-off when there is 1 turn left on the Whirlpool. The second descent removes the bubble. Tail sweep until dead.
Against Mr. Pointy: Tail sweep until whelpling dies. There should be 2 rounds left on the body shield. Use Call Lightning. If there are 3 (due to bad RNG crits) use Metal Fist once, *then* Call Lightning. Immediately swap to Lil' Bling. Use Make It Rain, then Inflation. Two rounds of that should be all it takes to kill the horn head.
Against Otto: Continue using Inflation; drop another Make It Rain if you have it. Easy win from here on out: Blingtron should finish him off. If RNG doesn't favor you, Bling may die; if he does, one Ion Cannon will finish off Otto.

A bit of over kill but just beat him with Spawn of Onyxia (rare destruct)2-1-1, Lil Bling (ninja) 1-1-1, Darkmoon Tonk (p/h)1-1-2...instructions might be a bit off but you'll get the drift of the fight based on his hits and how to avoid big damage.

1st Round : Start with Spawn cast tail sweep , tail sweep, lift off (when 1 left on whirlpool) tail sweep till dead..(you can throw in a healing flame after he bubbles as tail sweep did no damage).

2nd round : I had 600 health left after Syd died so i threw in a healing flame when Mr.Pointy threw up his shield and i tail swept him till Spawn died.
brought in Lil Bling and cast Make it rain and then smckthat hit him twice. he hit me with horn gore and i threw in a gift package and after his impale i hit him again with smckthat twice. I do believe
i refreshed make it rain and cast smckthat and Lil bling died but i hit gift package as soon as he came up allowing me to use smckthat again killing Mr.pointy.
3rd round : Otto came up and i used smckthat and refreshed make it rain before Lil bling died.Can't remember what spell Otto used first but we exchanged hits i killed him with missile, then ion cannon.

Again sorry i tried to remember all the fight as i didn't write it down as i went. Hope you find this helpful. :)

I had trouble with him at first, but Hyjal Whisp (2,1,1) almost soloed two first pets. I also used Iron Starlette (1,2,1) and Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling (1,2,2). Worked twice very well.

2-pet + leveler:

setup:
Iron Starlette (1,1,1) - works best with p/s (273 speed). for slower breeds use the 'a' steps in the strat.
Molten Corgi (2,1,1)
leveler (600+ hp) or Plushie

vs. Syd:
1. Iron Starlette > Powerball. switch to Molten Corgi.
2. cast Puppies > Flamethrower > Superbark. Corgi dies, bring Iron Starlette back.
3. cast Wind-Up > Powerball.
3a. for slower Starletts: cast only Powerball.
*Syd is dead and Mr. pointy enters.

vs. Mr.Pointy:
1. Supercharge > Wind-Up.
1a. for slower Starletts: cast Wind-Up > Supercharge > Wind-Up.
*Mr.Pointy is one-shotted, cow enters.

vs. Otto:
1. cast Wind-Up.
2. switch to leveler (will get 400-600 hit), and back to Iron Starlette.

My team consisted of Scourged Whelpling (2,2,1), Iron Starlette (1,1,1), and Personal World Destroyer (1,2,1)

Bring out Scourged Whelping to fight Syd. Use Tail Sweep till Whelping dies.

Bring out Iron Starlette and use Powerball which should kill Syd.

Next use Wind-up, Supercharge, and Wind-up again. This should 1 shot Mr Pointy.
If need use Powerball to finish him off

Next use wind-up and use wind-up again to start fight for Otto. Iron Starlette most likely will be killed after he finishes off his 2nd wind-up

Bring out Personal World Destroyer, use Supercharge, then Screeching Gears. If this does not kill Otto then hit him with Metal Fists 1-2 hits which should kill Otto.

I did similar to this and it worked well.
I used Scourged Whelpling as directed, minus the 2nd D&D.
Cogblade Raptor did not seem to do much, was killed quickly despite Repairing.
I used Iron Starlette, 1 1 1, using Powerball to get my speed up, one Wind-Up, Supercharge, and then another Wind-up to one shot the cow.

Sorry if the directions aren't very specific, was just using what I think would work best, as I had been defeated by him several times before.

New solution for this jive turkey:

1. Albino Chimaeraling (2,1,1): Tail Sweep, Roar, Lift-Off to avoid Syd’s first Whirlpool, Tail Sweep until Dead. Leave the Chimeraling in to absorb the second Whirlpool.

2. Iron Starlette (1,1,1): Wind-Up, Supercharge, Wind-Up on Mr. Pointy. Use Powerball on Otto until the Starlette dies.

3. Cogblade Raptor (2,1,1): Exposed Wounds, Batter until Dead.

No carry at this point, I'm afraid. Go get that jerky jerk!

I used Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling, Iron Starlette, and Warbot, but can maybe substitute another mech for Warbot. Breath until dead. Iron Starlette: use Wind-up, Powerball, Supercharge in any order that makes sense. Then Warbot use Toxic Smoke and Missile.

Leveling pet (used a lvl 11 Snaplasher, but it didn't take damage so presumably you can bring a level 1)

Start with Sweep, Wind-up, switch to Iron Starlette. Wind-up, Supercharge, Wind-up, Toxic smoke, switch to leveling pet and back to Iron Starlette; it'll most likely die before you get to do anything but in case it doesn't Toxic smoke.

Bring Enchanted Broom back, use Batter until Sydney's shield goes down, then Sweep, Wind-up, Wind-up, Wind-up, finish Sydney with Batter.

edit 07-08-20: If you just want to win and don't care about leveling (this is also less rng-sensitive):

Alpine Foxling, Robo Chick, Highlands Turkey.

Fox: Dazzling Dance, Flurry. Next two hits will miss because of his bubble, so refresh Dazzling Dance for funsies and queue up Howl. as soon as bubble drops, spam Flurry until he dies. Refresh Dazzling Dance just before you lose the fox.

Robo Chick: Spam Wind-Up until you kill the beast. Don't pause to heal; you need to kill this sucker. Once he's down, you can pop a heal and milk the last of the Robo Chick's health (and his mechanical res) against the cow.

Highlands Turkey: Put the cow to sleep with Food Coma, hit with Peck and then Squawk (to lower his damage). Repeat every time Food Coma is ready, and spam with Peck in between.

So, my Iron Starlette was only 23, so I decided to take a different approach. Worked like a dream on the first try.

I had a level 25 Tolai Hare that had the same Stampede and Flurry as in Serenale's post with the Arctic Hare. Start with Stampede and spam Flurry until Syd dies. Then the dino will come in. Hit stampede again, but then the Mr. Pointy will kill your hare.
Bring in a Menagerie Custodian with Overtune, Shock and Awe, and Ion Cannon. Use Ion Cannon. This often kills the dino, if not, use an ability until it does. Then the cow Otto will come out.
Switch to pet three. Pet three was my Iron Starlette, I hit Otto with Toxic Smoke, then spammed wind up until the Starlette died. Brought back the Custodian, used Ion Cannon and the battle was over. Sometimes Otto will kill the Starlette, in which case the Custodian will finish the job. You could try just finishing the cow with the Custodian, with the Starlette as back up if you like, they're both strong against Otto.

Start with decoy for dragonling and zeppelin - use Dragonling’s Thunderbolt on CD – use Zeppelin’s Explode after the mechanical passive has activated – Use Darkmoon Tonk’s Shock and awe followed by Ion Cannon – I’m sure RNG has a factor here, but this has been a very successful strategy on both bosses for me. I used him after Alpine Kit Foxling died to Mr. Pointy, Supercharge then Ion Cannon, then Lock-On, Supercharge, Lock-On to kill Otto. Didn't need a 3rd pet

I tried a lot of the different suggestions on here (spent quite a bit of time leveling pets to try them) and had absolutely no luck. Maybe things have changed? I *finally* beat him with a level 25 rare Scourged Whelpling (2, 2,1), and a level 25 rare Lil' Bling (1, 2, 1), and my Elekk Plushie (which never came out).

I'm sorry, I don't remember the order of everything I did, and I don't know if it would work every time, but I wanted to post this just in case there's someone else out there who feels like they've tried everything and nothing has worked...and if they have these pets.

I used:
1. Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling (1, 1, 2)

3. Ikky (2, 1, 1) - could probably use anyone else with Black Claw and a Flock-type skill.

I used Breath for Syd and tried to time Decoy for when Syd would use the bubble to avoid attacks. Mech lasted through Syd doing this.
Mr. Pointy came in and I cast Bombing Run and may have been able to do an additional Breath before completely dying.
Cogblade Raptor came in and as someone else in the comments mentioned as a strategy I did Batter when the shield wasn't up and Repair when it was. Timing worked out so that I killed Mr. Pointy and did a Batter on Otto until Cogblade Raptor died.
Ikky came in and did Black Claw then Flock. Ikky had 800ish health left when Otto died.

I've only tried this once so it may have been super lucky RNG. I'll be working with it this week so I'll update.

ETA: second time worked as did 3rd time.

Just wanted to add an update to the Worg (dazzling dance) & Iron Starlette leveling team. If the first pet dies and your Dazzling Dance (DD) pet still has whirlpool active and is low enough hp that it will die from it then the Direhorn will use a defensive skill and let your DD pet die. This is huge because if he uses the defensive skill on this turn then he will smash your Iron Starlette when you summon him. This will always cost you the match as the Starlette will not have enough health to use supercharge against the Cow and will only be able to hit for around 1k damage. This leaves your leveling pet to do over 600 damage which is no easy feat. I always fight Jeremy first with a level 1 pet (using the lvl pet to soak the stun) and use Mech Panda and Molten Corgi as the other popular strat (Mech Panda and Tonk) is very unpredictable these days. With all of the food buffs and hat this will boost a lvl 1 to 14. However I doubt most level 14 pets could finish the cow (maybe flying pets).

Anyways what I noticed caused this situation to happen to me was only using crouch once (at the beginning) with my Worg Pup(not sure how this affects other DD pets like the Fox) and not using Crouch the second time at the end of the fight and instead going for the kill. After I went for the kill the whirlpool would have 1 round left and my Worg was always low enough that it would kill him. However if you use Crouch a second time instead of going for the kill to ensure whirlpool expires before the Direhorn comes out then he will always attack to kill the Worg Pup giving your Iron Starlette a free round when he uses his Shield.

I lost multiple times in a row before I pin pointed the issue. I think they updated the AI and that a year ago the Direhorn always attacked and ignored the whirlpool buff and now he is smart enough to use his shield instead. Happy Leveling :D

So, I don't have a Clockwork Gnome and I haven't leveled my Iron Starlette yet, so the top strategies here weren't available to me. I experimented and eventually found a strategy which has worked for me every time so far. Although it is a 3-pet strategy so it doesn't allow for a carry.

I used

Darkmoon Tonk
Missile | Minefield | Ion Cannon

Scourged Whelpling
Tail Sweep | Death and Decay | Plagued Blood

Snowfeather Hatchling
Falcosaur Swarm | Crouch | Warning Squawk

1. Send the Darkmoon Tonk in first and use Minefield
2. Switch to Scourged Whelpling and follow the usual advice to kill Syd
3. Mr. Pointy switches in, Minefield takes out about half of his health
4. When Scourged Whelpling dies (probably on this turn or the previous) switch in Darkmoon Tonk and lay down Minefield again
5. Switch to Snowfeather Hatchling. Use Crouch -> then Warning Squawk -> then Falcosaur Swarm. Between the crits, the Flying advantage, and the 100% damage increase from swarm, it cuts through Mr. Pointy's defense like butter
6. Otto switches in, Minefield takes out a large chunk of health
7. Snowfeather Hatchling should be alive, and able to take one more hit before dying. Falcosaur Swarm to cut Otto's defense
8. Send in Darkmoon Tonk. Use Ion Cannon. Otto is nuked with over 2k damage and you've won!

My goal was to find Cheap Reliable Replacements for both Darkmoon Faire Pet Masters that are consistent with 2 pet strategies so you can level a pet if you want. Pro Tip use an Alt that you are leveling slowly and they will get decent experience and you can log out after the 2 Pet Battles so you can preserve your Pet XP Buff Food for most of the week. You will need Lesser Pet Treat, Pet Treat, Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling, Blazehound S/B & P/B Preferred, P/P can work but has more variance due to being slow and taking way more damage than the other breeds, Worg Pup, & Runeforged Servitor. Make sure all 4 pets are level 25 and are Rare Quality.

I always start with Jeremy Feasel to level my pet from 1 to 14 (with food buffs) so they can take a hit in the next Daily.

The second daily with Christoph VonFeasel will level your Level 14 Pet from earlier to level 20. I personally always use stones to finish off the last 5 levels either 1 Fel-Touched Battle-Training Stone or 5 Flawless Battle-Training Stone.

Christoph VonFeasel (This awards 10 Darkmoon Prize Ticket)

Slot 1: Worg Pup (Moves: Flurry, Crouch, Dazzling Dance)
Slot 2: Runeforged Servitor (Moves: Wind-Up, Supercharge, Any) Iron Starlette also works but he is a quest reward and is pricey is comparison.
Slot 3: Leveling Pet (needs at least 160hp)

Syd
1: Dazzling Dance
2: Crouch
3-6: Flurry (use this until Crouch is off cooldown)
7: Crouch (This is really important, Even if you could kill Syd with another Flurry you need to absorb Whirlpool so that it doesn't kill Worg Pup after Mr. Pointy comes out. If it does then Mr. Pointy will use Trihorn Shield instead of attacking and will get an extra attack on the Runeforged Servitor which will cause this strategy to fail.
8-9: Flurry (May take 2 attacks, this should kill Syd) However with really bad luck it is possible to fail to kill Syd in which case you have to restart. This only happened to me once out of around 15 completions.

Mr. Pointy
1: Dazzling Dance (This Buff is critical and this strategy won't work without it) Worg Pup should die here
2: Swap to Runeforged Servitor
3: Wind-Up
4: Supercharge
5: Wind-Up (This will kill Mr. Pointy)

Otto
1: Swap to your Leveling Pet (Needs at least 160hp or 240hp if Flying)
2: Swap back to Runeforged Servitor

4: Supercharge (normally Runeforged Servitor dies here and procs the Mechanical Passive)
5: Wind-Up (Thanks to Dazzling Dance, Runeforged Servitor is Faster than Otto and gets to go first killing him)

1: Immediately swap to your Leveling Pet (Fezwick will always use Clobber which is a 100% Stun)

4: Breath until your Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling Dies (Normally only able to get 1 attack off)
5a: Swap to Blazehound S/B or P/B use Frenzy. Now use Puppies of the Flame Hopefully Fezwick's HP is low enough that this will finish him.
5b: Swap to Blazehound P/P and use Puppies of the Flame Hopefully Fezwick's HP is low enough that this will finish him. This breed is slower than the others and will barely have enough HP to cast this, thankfully this breed hits hard enough that it can still win though. It is possible to die here or fail to kill Fezwick with this breed.

Are you having trouble with this one, for the first time in a long time I struggled to find my team. Many of the suggested strats did not work for me I had lv25 rares, both a fox and iron starlett but this team was failing badly.
In the end the team that worked for me was: Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling (1-2-2) Just keep decoy up and spam Breath) 9 at 10 times he will solo Syd alone.
I also used Lil' Bling (2-2-2) his Make it rain was a winner and my back up was Ikky (1-1-1) ( just black claw and flock)

I also used this team to easily win against Jeremy Feasel.

If you are missing any of the pets in this strategy, you can go to your Pet Journal and look up the specific move being used to see if any of the pets you have may know it. This has worked consistently for me.

Apparently strategies utilizing multi-hit abilities to break Bubble no longer work as intended as Syd cannot be hit by more than one attack per round while affected by Bubble. I used an Arctic Fox Kit's Flurry (while Dazzling Dance was up) and was hitting multiple times before Bubble was applied, but after it was applied I would only hit 1 time EVERY time. This unfortunately breaks the tried and true strategy I was using.

I am unsure if this is a bug or intended, but personally I believe this to be a bug as Flurry was working to break the shield during the previous Darkmoon Faire (before Shadowlands) and now (12/6/2020) in Shadowlands it is not.

Here's a different 2-pet strategy to deal with the multi-hit issue. (So you can use Elekk Plushie in your team).

The main trick is to use Iron Starlette as your starting pet so you can powerball for free. And then you need another pet which can deal with the pet swap AND Syd. I used Abyssius.

This has worked for me 100% for Shadowlands and is viable for An Awfully Big Adventure or just a 2-pet leveling strategy for Shadowlands.
( if you bring in a leveling pet, I suggest one with at least 500 HP )

Iron Starlette (1,1,2)
Elfin Rabbit (1,2,2)or a Mountain Cottontail with 357 speed.
Elekk Plushie or a leveling pet with 500 HP ( I suggest a dragonkin or mechanical )

vs Syd:
1. Iron Starlette : Power Ball then switched to Elfin Rabbit
2. Elfin Rabbit : Dodge > Stampede > Scratch x2.
*Syd is dead and Mr. pointy enters.

vs Mr.Pointy:
1. Elfin Rabbit : Stampede (rabbit dies).
2. Iron Starlette : Wind-Up > Wind-Up.
*Mr.Pointy is one-shotted, cow enters.

vs Otto:
1. Swap in leveling Pet/Elekk and then swap Iron Starlette right back in
1. Iron Starlette : Wind-Up x2 then Explode (if Otto has 500 or less HP). If
Otto still has over 500 HP, Wind-Up x2

***EDIT: I've posted a new strat with a different starting pet. Either I was really lucky with the following strat or they changed something because I had next to no luck the last couple months with it.

Alpine Foxling - Must have speed rating above 315 - 2X2 (middle attack doesn't matter)
Iron Starlette - 1X1 (middle attack doesn't matter)
Carry Pet - Can't be level one, has to have a certain amount of HP to survive one hit.

This can still work even with the Flurry not breaking Bubble issue.

Make sure your Alpine Foxling has a speed rating above 315 in order to go before Syd without having to use Dazzling Dance.

Cast ONLY Flurry against Syd. Granted, now it is RNG as to whether you'll get enough hits to make it work, but most of the time I find that I can still down Syd and get one cast of Dazzling Dance off just before Mr. Pointy kills me.

I never understood why you would use Howl in the first place as part of your rotation, if your speed allowed you to attack first with your Foxling. And obviously if you have more speed than Syd in the first place, no reason for Dazzling dance. About the only way you could ever fail against Syd would be to have the worst RNG imaginable (one hit per Flurry) which I never had happen, not in hundreds of battles over the last several years.

Now with the change to Flurry vs Bubble, it's a little less assured, but after doing this every day this week and not having to repeat more than a couple times, it will work more often than not.

Obviously after Syd is dead, you proceed normally with Iron Starlette, and provided there isn't an extreme crit hit against your pet on the last two enemy pets, it's a breeze:

Alpine Foxling cast Flurry non stop till Syd is dead (if you get unlucky and Foxling dies just reset)
Mr. Pointy comes in, cast Dazzling Dance
Mr Pointy kills Foxling
Bring in Iron Starlette
-Windup
-Supercharge

Swap to carry pet (must have a certain amount of hp to survive, can't be a new level 1)

I might have found a replacement for Hekthor's strat. It works the same way but since you can't battle Christoph more than once, I don't know if it has the same percentage as his. Anyways, this is my line up:

Necroray Spawnling - 1/12
Iron Starlette - 1/1/1 (My Star is 341 power)

Start with your Necroray against Syd (don't worry, Syd doesn't use any anti-flying moves.)
Bone Barrage

Dazzling Dance

Iron Starlette: Windup, Powerball, Supercharge, Windup, Pointy dies. Windup, Powerball, Supercharge, Windup, Otto dies.

Anything else I tried didn't work.

Continue with Sleeping gaze and fight until the squid die ...
Once your Dragon is dead go back with the Zepplin and use Decoy
Launch Bombing run and switch to Cogblade raptor
Use exposed wounds
Overtune and batter until the rhino die
Use exposed wounds on the cow
Overtune and batter until the raptor die
Darkmoon Zepplin and use Decoy
Bombing run
Rocket until the cow die

3.Spam Flurry to kill first pet
4.Once the second pet comes out use flurry UNLESS your fox is going to die from one hit then make sure you use Dazzling Dance!
5.Iron starlette will come in and youll spam wind-up to kill the second pet
6.Once your Starlette is in its rebuilt phase youll use explode
7.Bring in last mech pet and spam wind-up to win!

2-Pet Carry Strat, Updated for Shadowlands

This strat seems to work fairly reliably post-Shadowlands bubble buff. This is based on a team comp posted by @LilTurd1272, but with better ability loadouts and and a turn order that works more reliably, give or take some bad RNG crits from Syd (which could sometimes a be problem with the classic dazzling dance fox strat, too) Anyway:

This is a 2-Pet strategy; after many "trial and error" attempts, with all sorts of pets (I've got 667 total) this is the NEW strategy, after the Bubble no longer....pops.

This is 100% rate of success, and it does not require leveling pet to be able to take ANY hits.

PETS:

Sunreaver Micro-Sentry - 1 / 2 / 1
Iron Starlette - 1 / 2 / 2
ANY LVL / Elekk Plushie for the An Awfully Big Adventure achievement.

Strategy:

Sunreaver Micro-Sentry
- Call Lightning > Laser (blocked) > Laser (blocked) > Haywire > Syd DIES
- Laser > Call Lightning (Sunreaver DIES)

- Windup > Windup > Explode > Otto DIES (as well as Iron Starlette through the explosion).

I'm of the assumption that Flurry counting as one attack is intended, so I shifted my strategy for SL.

Pet 1: Lil' Bling (1/1/1)
Pet 2: Iron Starlette (1/*/1)
Pet 3: Can be carry pet, never needed.

Lil' Bling completely replaces the Dazzling Dance pet you used to use. Extra Plating replaces Crouch, Inflation (and I assume Build Turret, Stampede, Flock, etc.) still break Bubble in one round. I used Make It Rain for the chance at more damage while Syd was debuffed.

Iron Starlette strategy still works against Mr. Pointy and Otto. Mr. Pointy was debuffed by my last round of Inflation, but would have still died to Wind Up x 2 (even while shielded).

The following seems to work really well with a much lower failure rate than any others I have tried.

There can be potential crit hits, it's not a 100%, but I've used this all week so far (today is Friday) and had one failure, this was with trying it multiple times on Sunday (first day of Darkmoon Faire) to be sure it worked.

Man i spent ages trying to find a strategy with the Elekk. None of the top comments works anymore, atleast not for me.

I used :
Twilight Cluth-Sister (1/1/2)
Darkmoon Zeppelin (1/1/2)
Elekk Plushie lvl 25

Started with Twilight Meteor and then Phase Shift to counter the Whirlpool hit. Filled with Tail Sweep until i could Phase Shift again and then used Twilight Meteor.
Just keep using Tail Sweep until dead.

Bring in your Darkmoon Zeppelin and use Decoy, Bombing Run ( you might need to use a Missile to finish it off)and switch to Elekk to take the dmg until Bombing run hits and finishes it off. Keep Elekk plushie out until Decoy is off CD for the 3rd pet. Make sure to use the Decoy so he doesnt heal himself and kill.

I didn't have any of the suggested pets for An Awfully Big Adventure with the Elekk Plushie. I had also never done this pet battle before, so I decided to just give it my best shot with what I had.

I ended up using Feathers - which I upgraded to rare quality with a Marked Flawless Battle-Stone (sold by vendors for 15 Polished Pet Charm) - and Specimen 97 to go with my Elekk.

As it turns out, this combination not only beat Christoph VonFeasel on the first try, but also Jeremy Feasel (which I had also never fought against). Unfortunately, this fight DOES depend rather heavily on RNG. If you're going for the Elekk achievement, everything is going to hinge on how many times Batter procs, as well as making sure that there isn't a whirlpool up when Syd dies. However, if you're only trying to level a carry pet, placing them in the last spot and finishing Otto with that third pet is an easy win every time.

Start with Feathers (2/2/2):
1. Feathered Frenzy
2. Zap
3. Lift-Off
4. (Feathers dodges Syd's attack and then strikes at Syd.)
5. Zap
6. Zap
7. Feathered Frenzy
(Feathers will "die" before coming back to life with Failsafe.
8. Zap
- Syd will die, Mr. Pointy comes in. -

*Update: As of Dragonflight this still works great. I just did it today and Specimen 97 still had about a third of the health bar left. The really nice thing about this strat is that the pets I used don't have other breeds, meaning that you don't have to guess at which one you need in order to make this work. And as an extra benefit - if you don't have these pets already, Specimen 97 should already be at level 25 (iirc) when you catch it. I don't know if it loses levels when you catch it or not (since this is a special pet from Mechagon island and is ALWAYS rare quality when caught), but it's better than leveling up two different pets from level 1!

With recent updates, Syd's Bubble is more resilient to attacks and Mr. Pointy's Trihorn Shield defense appears to have been increased. This has rendered moot many suggestions that were made prior to Shadowlands. For your planning purposes, the VonFeasel's order of battle is as follows:
Syd - Elite Magic class with aquatic Water Jet, aquatic Whirlpool, and humanoid Bubble. Both Water Jet and Whirlpool are strong against Elemental and weak against Magic.
Mr. Pointy - Elite Beast class with beast Horn Gore, beast Trihorn Shield, and beast Impale. Both Horn Gore and Impale are strong against Critter and weak against Flying.
Otto- Elite Beast class with beast Trample, beast Feed, and magic Darkmoon Curse. Both Trample and Feed are strong against Critter and weak against Flying. is strong against Flying and weak against

Here is what the opponent does during Battle Rounds:

1. Syd casts Whirlpool
2. Syd casts Bubble
3. Syd casts Water Jet -- Whirlpool gets applied
4. Syd casts Water Jet
5. Syd casts Whirlpool

I had to try several different options to get through this challenge, and the following has been successful five times in a row. I wanted to use common pets that are easy to acquire, so I used the following: 1/2/1 (1/2/2 works), 2/2/2, 2/1/2 (2/2/2 works).
I used 's right off the bat followed by to deal with 's , kept my active and my way through .
With , I started with and repeated until I needed to add health with . The first strike of is ineffective against when is active, so best to start that when the shield is down and continue thereafter.

Death Seeker (1,2,1) - Eyeblast > Murder the Innocent > Eye Beam > whatever is off cooldown until it dies. Destroys Syd pretty fast.

Personal World Destroyer (1,2,1) - Supercharge > Screeching Gears > Metal Fist > repeat as available

Sprite Darter Hatchling (2,2,1) - Moonfire > spam Arcane Blast. I never used Life Exchange.

This Fight Has Been a Constant Pain For Two Years!

I would always get just a little bit close but never be able to finish it, or all the pets would die, so I would not get credit for it!

Using some of the strategies from here and some from Effy J. Roan's Article Pet Battle Cheats I was finally able to have a great fight.

I used:

Crimson Bat Pup - 2,1,1 - I don't even know how I got this one. My main is Alliance, and I just found him in my bag one day.
Iron Starlette - 1,1,1
Lil' Bling - 2,2,2 - While this is one of my favorites, the little guy was not needed for this match.

The most crucial piece of information I got from reading everyone's comments was "roeevv" mentioning SPEED.
I've never paid much attention to this, but I can see where it makes a difference now.

In order of hits:

Syd
1 - Call Darkness
1 - Nocturnal Damage
2 - Bite Repeatedly
Bat got rooted so I swapped out for Iron Starlette shortly until I could move him back in but Starlette did enough damage to get Syd below 50%
1 - Nocturnal Damage
2 - Bite

1 - Call Darkness was not ready but I also didn't want to use it until I got to Mr. Pointy.

Mr. Pointy
Crimson Bat
1 - Call Darkness
It was the remaining Whirlpool from Syd that finished off Crimson Bat Pup.
Swapped in Iron Starlette.

Starlette does what it always does
1 - Wind Up
1 - Supercharge
1 - Windup
1 - Windup - This is the weird thing..... This windup did 3570 in damage, and Mr. Pointy was done.
1- Supercharge

I think I was just clicking at this point. This part of the battle was only three rounds.

Otto

During the first part of this match, a Darkmoon Curse was put onto both pets it looks like. The only thing I can think is it was announced that Moonfang had just arrived and the fight was happening.

Otto came in, and I did about the same moves I did with Mr. Pointy. With an added Powerball.
Powerball applied a Speed Boost.
Darkness from Crimson Bat Pup faded during Round 12 so the FEED that Otto did right before that did not heal him as it normally would.

But then, Round 14
Starlette finally hit him for 2577 damage, and it was over.

I didn't read the damage levels until I started writing this post.

It's a little more complicated than this. I've uploaded pictures of the Battle Pet fight text and I'm waiting for approval. I'll link them if they get approved.

Strategy that worked for me after the patch changes
Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling (1,2,2)
Iron Starlette (1,2,1) - used H/P breed
Blue Clockwork Rocket Bot (1,1,2) - S/S breed

1. Breath
2. Thunderbolt
3. Decoy
4. Breath
5. Breath
6. Breath (might not need as many breaths)
7. Thunderbolt
8. MPD died due to the whirlpool, iron starlette brought in
9. Toxic Smoke (Syd died)
10. Wind-up (charge)
11. Supercharge (not sure if it actually worked - battle logs show it faded before the wind-up was hit - it maybe applied to the toxic smoke effect - so could just do wind-up straight - not tested it yet
12. Wind-up (hit)
13. Toxic smoke (Mr Pointy died)
14. Toxic smoke
15. Iron starlette died, Blueclockwork rocket bot in
16. Launch rocket (charge)
17. Toxic smoke
18. Launch rocket (hit) (Otto died)

The comment below "go with speed" really helped. I don't have many lvl 25 pets to choose from but found 2 with over 300 speed.
I went with

1. Nether Faerie Dragon
2. Specimen 97
3. Eldritch Manafiend

I used in that order and didn't swap out. Eldritch had 746 left in life.

After opening the reward I found Syd the Squid (pet)

I used Timeless Mechanical Dragonling (1, 2, 2), Enchanted Broom (2, 2, 2), and Son of Animus (1, 2, 1) although I didn't have to use him.

Start with Timeless Mech. against Syd
Time Bomb
Flame Breath x3
(Christoph will switch to Mr Pointy)
Armageddon

Switch to Enchanted Broom
Wind Up x2 (Mr. Pointy dead)
(Otto joins)
Wind Up
Batter 1-2 times until Otto's health is under 950

I use the same three pets for both battles!

Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling - Breath, Thunderbolt, and Decoy
Darkmoon Zeppelin - Missile, Bombing Run, and Decoy
and
Iron Starlette - Wind Up, Toxic Smoke (this move doesn't get used, so it doesn't really matter), Supercharge

Start off with your Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling using Decoy, and Breath until Syd dies. Decoy again when Mr. Pointy pops up, then Thunderbolt, and more Breathing. When MPD dies, bring out your Darkmoon Zeppelin. Start off with Decoy again, do a Bombing Run, then Missiles until the triceratops dies. Otto will probably kill the Zeppelin pretty quickly, but that's OK. Do another Bombing Run if you can before it dies. Next, bring out your Iron Starlette; Wind Up, Supercharge, Wind Up, and the cow is TOAST. Then move onto Jeremy and use the same basic strategy!

Just thought I would add my team that took out Darkmoon Faire - Jeremy Feasel and Christoph VonFeasel with no issues (incase you don't the pets mentioned above. (Used this team for both w/ same spells and pet order):

Frostfur Rat - Sneak Attack, Refuge, Call Darkness
Fel Flame - Burn, Immolate, Conflagrate
Lil' Bling - Inflation, Blingtron Gift Package, Make it Rain

Use the attacks in reverse order (example: frostfur rat use Call Darkness, then Refuge, then Sneak Attack.)
Use Frostfur Rat in position 1, then Fel Flame as spot 2, and Lil' Bling spot 3.

I was able to beat it with Fel Flame and Lil'Bling swapped around too if you run into any issues.

Zero issues clearing. Hope that helps!

This seems to be a pretty reliable strategy and quick.

Enchanted Broom Batter (won't need it but just in case.) Sweep.

Lil' XT or Landro's Lil' XT Zap Heartbroken Tympanic Tantrum x2.

Forse the swap with Sweep. Switch to XT and use Heartbroken then Tympanic Tantrum on Otto and backlines. Use Zap to finish Otto if needed. Syd comes back in so switch to the broom and forse the swap again with Sweep. Bring the first XT back in and let it take the hit from Whirpool. It should die so afterwords bring in the other XT and finish the battle with Heartbroken Tympanic Tantrum.

Edit: If you take a crit hit and the second XT it dies. No worries just use Batter w/ broom.

This trio had his pets dead with my third pet only being active for two rounds!

Using self destruct at the right time after their first death is just good strategy. :) Good luck!

EDIT on May 5, 2024: Updated MPD to be 1,1,2 instead of 1,1,1. I am not sure if I miss-typed that or what, but I was trying to follow the strat today as my first day back to the DMF in several months after I took a break and was unable to defeat him with 1,1,1. After the change, was able win in one attempt. Thank you to those who provided the input below!

Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling - Breath/Thunder/Decoy
Unborn Val'kyr - Shadow Slash/Curse of Doom/Haunt
Iron Starlette - Wind/Toxic/Supercharge

1. Syd - Breath, THEN Decoy, then Breath until dead
2. Pointy (I think?) - Breath. Dragon will probably be dead. Switch to Unborn. Curse of Doom, then Shadow Slash until Pointy is dead.
3. Otto - Curse of Doom as soon as possible, use Shadow Slash in the meantime. Unborn will probably be dead, but as long as you got a Curse off, you're good. Use Iron Starlette BUT DO NOT USE SUPERCHARGE. Wind -> Wind. Wind->Wind.

This strat worked for me, first try. Not sure how much RNG involved.

To WoW developers: Can you please already remove the requirement where all the ordinary battle pet quests and daily battle pet quests require the pets to be at the annoying max level 25 or even pets higher than level 1 in order to complete them? It's getting up to my and most other people's nerves how much needed this fix was, and overwhelmingly still is, and how simple of a fix it is and for so many expansions you still kept it in the game even after so many complaints and you've done nothing to fix it. Needing to have pets at level 25 as a requirement in order to even start thinking of doing the darkmoon faire pet battles or any other such pet battles for that matter, is beyond stupid. This is so annoying especially for new players, also since the pet battles queues last forever to find a match since it appears there's no enough players online who do them apparently, as opposed to when pet battles were a new thing in 2012 and a couple of years after also. Remove the level 25 requirement for pets and set the requirement to level 1-25 so we can actually complete the quests at all. Darkmoon faire lasts 6 days and the pet battle queue still didn't pop up for those whole 6 days... No wonder why people stop playing this game since nobody can level up their pets quickly. And having to level them up throughout the zones is the same... lasts forever.

I picked Sky-Bo due to speed. Worked for me, all 3 were alive at end. I skipped Supercharge on the final round, as the math was mathing.

Two pets carrying one. I hope this might be helpful to someone. Caveats: 1) you need a P/P breed Iron Starlette. I could make it work with P/S, but it was less consistent. (I updated 5th bullet for what worked best for me, using Breath vs Thunderbolt to take more health from Mr. Pointy) 2) Enemy team crits will likely cause a wipe. 3) Sometimes Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling Breath ability does less than 400 damage every time you use it and starts a domino effect and Syd will kill MPD prematurely.

One recommendation before getting into it, if you're boosting a level 1 pet, carry it through Jeremy Feasel first because you can swap it in for a no damage hit from Fezwick. For that fight I just swap Iron Starlette for Molten Corgi with a different ability order/rotation, but if you don't have it, other commenters may have a viable carry team.

Team:
Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling 1/2/2 (Breath/Thunderbolt/Decoy)
Iron Starlette 1/1/1 (Wind-Up/Powerball/Supercharge)
Carry Pet

Fight! (summary of most common playout)

Use Breath; Syd uses Whirlpool
Use Decoy; Syd uses Bubble
Use Thunderbolt (it hits all enemy pets and we want to get Mr. Pointy's health below 1,148 so Iron Starlette can eventually kill it with Wind-Up without Supercharge); Syd uses Water Jet
Use Breath until Syd dies, MPD should not have died at all yet; at this point the second Whirlpool will kill MPD and it will revive
Use Breath; Mr. Pointy uses Impale killing MPD (I originally had Thunderbolt, but found breath better and consistent for P/P and non-P/P breed Iron Starlettes)
Swap to Iron Starlette and use Powerball; Mr. Pointy uses Trihorn Shield (he will use it before Powerball is performed); from my multiple fights, Mr. Pointy's health is usually 1,084 at this point, as a reference
Use Wind-Up back-to-back killings Mr. Pointy
Swap in your carried pet letting it take a hit from Otto's Darkmoon Curse; NOTE: this can kill level 1 pets as alluded to above
Swap back to Iron Starlette
Now you want to use this sequence for the next three rounds: Wind-Up, Supercharge, Wind-Up to kill Otto; During this final sequence Iron Starlette may die its first death but revives to finish it

Hopefully this helps someone out there and I'd love to hear other's carry strategies as this one is pretty prescriptive. Thanks!
