Argh fights alongside Raaaargh. Raaaargh is always on the ground while Argh is always on the Tower. Argh has 11 million hp while Raaaargh has 25.3 million hp, so the most logical choice if you think about it is to kill Argh. On the field are 3 trampolines that you use to get up to Argh. On the Tower, Argh will eventually knock you off, so you will have to keep jumping him there to avoid the bears damage. If you have a pet that can tank/taunt, use it on the bear and you will have a much easier time. If you bounce on a trampoline, you will get a bounce buff, which has a 3 second timer. Bounce on the trampolines 3 times in a row and you will get the Critical Bounce buff. The buff gives you 100% crit chance and 300% increase in damage. Using an ability will consume the effect.

Copying and pasting from my other post in case you just searched the NPCs name and not the quest.

Came here to post a strategy, since I have yet to see this. I'm gonna say this right off the bat, if you're in a raid group LEAVE and get single buffs, or go down to 5 people for party buffs like auras. I beat this twice and didn't get credit before realizing I didn't get credit because I was in a raid. This was fixed.

Alright, you'll notice the 3 trampolines on the ground, bouncing three times in a row gives you a buff that increases your next attack by A LOT. (Critical Bounce!)The whole strategy here is to start on one side, and hop to the middle, then the last before hopping on to his platform to smack him with your highest damage dealing attack. You don't have to go to the platform if you're a caster or ranged that doesn't need to be in melee range. Also there's a bear, he's just kinda there. Heal through his damage or absorb if you can. Otherwise just a bear.

You will not be able to just sit on the platform and beat him to death, as he does a slap that knocks you off and hits for 60kish on plate.

Now that you know the strat, you need to know about the trampolines, they're a pain in the ass at first until you get used to them. I could not figure out for a while what caused them to bounce you, so I was jumping when already on it and it would send me an opposite direction of where I wanted to go. When first going on the trampoline you have about 1 second before it shoots you off in the direction you're facing, do NOT jump when already on it. Just hop on, face the next trampoline, and let it shoot you itself.

That's really the basics of it, I just posted this up here so there's something, as it took me a while.

I did this as a ret paladin with a 505 item level, this is how the fight went for me. Jump, jump, jump on to platform, pop all cd's and brawlers potion, chuck hammer of wrath, sit on the platform and nuke him while I have my cooldowns, when I see him cast slap HoJ him for another 6 seconds of DPS time. When the second slap is about to go off aim your back at a trampoline so you land on it and redo step 1, using exorcism as your super attack until he's at 20% to use HoW.

I know this isn't going to be all that helpful for a lot of people, but this was my tactic as a iLvl 511 Frost Mage.

1) Polymorph the bear, set focus on him to reapply when needed
2) Pop Time Warp, pop all DPS cooldowns
3) NUKE the living daylights out of him whilst stood still, don't waste time on any trampolines, don't worry about the bear, just concentrate on max damage on the guy on the platform.

You are able to deep freeze for frost bomb crits, you can use your Elementals freeze on the bear to gain some FoF procs. Use Mirror Image at the start to keep bear aggro off you whilst your damage is at max, re-poly the bear when Frozen Orb is on CD, or to heal up with Evocation, I had to re-summon my Elemental once during the fight.

In summary, I beat him just before the enrage time without using any trampolines. There was a little side stepping to do once you run low on damage mitigation, but I ended with 109k DPS to just beat the enrage timer.

If that's "fair" I sure as hell don't want to see "ugly."

That said, re: the mage who ignored the trampolines and just nuked him, when I tried that on my warlock Argh spell locked me several times, so that may have been a hotfix Blizz put in. Argh also spell locked me as I was trying to use the trampolines.

The trampolines here are the biggest pain in the ass mechanic. At some points around the trampoline you can just "walk up" on to it, but if you are not at the exact right point you have to hop up on it. You also have to position yourself perfectly to get thrown to the next trampoline, then position yourself in the air to get thrown to the next one, etc. If you don't do it perfectly each jump you will lose the buff, and the buff is critical to defeating him before beserk.

Boomkins get the 3 jump buff then use celestial alignment and cast moonfire once. Do not override it, you will have moonfire and sunfire on him with the buff increasing the damage of both.

For rogues - do NOT use Shadowstep to reach Argh. If you do that instead of using the trampolines, the bear will continue to attack you even while you're on the platform. Unless you fancy eating 40k dmg/sec, stick to the trampolines.

Incredibly easy as arcane mage. Stack arcane charge to 4 on bear then get bounce buff. You'll have it for 3s, so use it to put Living Bomb and Arcane Barrage and see 3m crits. Also, if u have enough gear you can just zerg him- for first slap use frost nova+ deep freeze combo (glyph of deep freeze is useful here), for second ice block, third alter time, by that time deep freeze should be off cd and hypothermia should be gone after that. But still- getting bounce buff is much easier way to do this.

Her "slap" ability can be dodged, and parried.
Also for warriors: While using Bladestorm, you are not knocked back by the slap ability.

A small tip for DKs , you can use Pillar of Frost to avoid being thrown down from the platform . However do not use this before jumping on a trampoline as it will not throw you up.

Jump between the trampolines to receive Critical Bounce, a buff which causes your next spell to hit very hard so by jumping up to Augh's platform on the third jump, you'll have several seconds to DPS before being slapped off the platform.

As a shadow priest, you can essentially ignore the bear by using fear, tendrils and spectral guise.

Arms Warrior recipe for success

Glyphs: Unending Rage, Colossus Smash, Die by the sword (will parry the slap ability)
Talents of note: Bladestorm (will resist slap), Bloodbath, Second Wind (will keep you alive for the entire 2 minutes)
Stance: Berserker

Bounce on the three trampolines and up to the platform to maximize initial buff. Go face to face with the mob, so that slaps that connect knock you back to the middle trampoline and you come right back up.

Opening rotation when you hit the platform:
- Potion of Brawler's Might
- Recklessness
- Skull Banner
- Bloodbath
- Bladestorm
- Die by the sword
- Colossus Smash
- Mortal Strike
- Overpower (to use glyph and extend die by the sword)
- Overpower
- Mortal Strike
- Overpower
- Overpower

You'll likely then fall-off. Use bloodbath/bladestorm on cooldown and just pound with your normal single-target rotation.

Beat the beserk timer averaging 130k DPS

His Slap can be interrupted by stunning him, allowing you to stay on the platform for longer as melee.

Just a little tip if you're having trouble with the trampolines.

There is a brief delay when you jump on them. Take a breath and use that time to position yourself.

Jump onto trampoline.
Aim.
BOING!
Land onto next trampoline.
Aim.
BOING!
Land onto final trampoline.
Aim.
BOING!

Then blam. You're wrecking Argh's face. :)

Druids can root Raaaargh with Entangling Roots. I chose the talent Mass Entanglement to avoid having to cast it. I also used Ursol's Vortex on the bear but I was too busy bouncing to notice if it had any effect. As a feral druid, once I got to the top with Argh, just pop all my cooldowns.

Just as an FYI, as a Ret i was using kazzak trinket because speed is nice for other fights. Well, speed from trinket made all my trampoline bounces overshoot the platform and other trampolines. Took off trinket and easy as can be.
