It might be hard to notice him at first, as he flies a large circle and pretty high up. Pull him down by flying close to him to aggro.

As of the day of launch, this is not a 100% drop chance.

To add more info: Spawn time was 2 hrs - with no cap on looting multiple times a day.
Edit for further clarification: Longest respawn I've had was 2hr 30 (exact)
1hr 20 min - Shortest (after the 2 hr 30):
2hr 28min - (after the short spawn)

I got Reins of the Liberated Slyvern on my second attempt today on the same character (I was level 65), So there are no daily or weekly lockout on Breezebiter.

Just adding to the limited data: I got the mount after 54 attempts. Level 65 0/4 Azure Span. All of the kills were on my main character, so as of now this is spammable. He flies a big loop so be sure to use a macro and check the area!

Killed, no mount. Set a timer for one hour. Checked when it went off and he was back up. Spawn timer may be as little as one hour.

No point in creating raid. Will still drop, but for the first 5 taggers. Confirmed it now, we were in raid and I couldn't tag and it still dropped for someone else.

Just saw this guy spawn super close to /way #2024 27.0 48.4 Breezebiter (spawned on the second highest rock on the coast, inside the canyon) today. He spawns just barely above the rocks to start. I was looking for him way up in the air to spawn and he basically ran into me. Seems to be on a 2 hour-ish timer. He spawned almost exactly 2hrs after I first killed him.

His path seems to be in a smallish circle around the basin; I followed him for two loops. Also I had something interesting happen to me where I died when I first engaged him (lvl 61), and he seemed to despawn then respawn a few minutes after I got back. Just wanted to notate it in case anyone else sees this happen.

As of today (11/30/2022) I was able to loot him twice in one day, but I am unsure if you are eligible for the mount loot more than once a day.

Just looted it first kill today. Small mount but not bad. Less than an hour spawn. Killed it 3 times total inc yesterday.

I would recommend farming it currently while alot of people are doing the cobalt assembly reputation grind,
Just hop to groups that have space - do a quick lap of his route and go onto the next. I got on average about 20 kills an hour

Got it at 133 kills.

Did 101 kills the first day, 29 kills the second day and 3 kills the third day. So I can confirm it still drops after multiple kills each day, and I honestly think it will stay that way. It's not technically a 'Rare', it's just an elite so they have no reason to mess with it.

If it does get the 'Fallen Charger treatment' then I'd say it'll go up to 3-5% and be once per day, but I don't think that's likely. Fallen Charger was a proper Rare with a zone emote and a Star on the map. Breezebiter is just a named Elite with a fairly regular respawn. Still, glad that I got it out of the way and can start working on other stuff.

I've been reading a lot of conflicting info regarding this mount so I decided to do my own tests.

On 01/12/2022 I killed this mount 3 times and dropped gold, arrived to the spot at 11:46 and a guy told me that he've been waiting for an hour, spawns:

On 02/12/2022 I killed this mount 3 times and dropped gold and 1 Tattered Wildercloth on the third attempt, arrived to the spot at 08:45, spawn times:

Spawn times seem to be 1h 30 min - 2h however something weird happened since it spawned 12:21 and 12:34, I logged out for 5 min and logged in in the same character, while I was writing this post he spawned again. It spawns exactly at 28.44 , 47.79 floating in front of the two tallest rocks in the cliffs. Can be pulled from this rock as soon as he spawns or you can wait on the next one if you are mele as he flies very close to it. He patrols in circles from the cliffs to the dinosaur skeleton and then back to the cliffs following the mountain slope.

This Rare now is a daily loot lockout.

While you're waiting for this guy to spawn, go check the big tree trunk that's close by and see if you can get your Blackfeather Nester.

Also: If you really like the look of the Liberated Slyvern but don't want to wait for Breezebiter to spawn, you can get an orange slyvern just from purchasing items from the AH (or farming them if you're so inclined) to trade in for a Temperamental Skyclaw (instructions and items needed in the comments for that mount). The NPC who gives you the mount will also give you a very easy quest for a matching battle pet, Yipper.

He spawns from a small cave tucked away by the switchback path so you don't have to sit on the coast and wait for him to circle.

After camping him for two nights in a row, I've noted the following every time:

Spawn rate is 1.5-2 hours, the average being 2 hours.

He spawns in front of a small cave at 29.80, 46.15, and if not engaged immediately, will start flying around the basin, his path taking him to the rocks by the cliff. It's actually best to wait here, because he won't be in the air, and will immediately aggro onto you.

because he is an elite mob, only 5 people can tag him. So if you make a group for him, converting to a raid is no use.

Can anyone confirm this is still not daily locked?
I assume it's not as this is not a rare, but I killed it 122 times since this morning's hotfix and no mount yet so I became suspicious lol

Few points of interest.

Spawns in the cave and flies up, circles around the broken tree.
Its an elite, not a rare so no daily lockout - you can kill him multiple times per day.
droprate is around 1-2%
Spawntime between 50mins and 2.5 hours

keep checking the groupfinder - dont join the raids as only the first 5 to tag the mob will get loot.
While you wait, theres a treasure on top of the broken tree that contains a pet.

Confirmed that he does spawn at the very entrance of a small cave at: /way 29.7, 46.9 then he will walk his way out of the short trail and then it will take off flight from an opening way to its patrol route. Please note when he spawns at the cave entrance, he will spawn walking before he flies.

If you added him into your custom tab from Silverdragon addon: Since Silverdragon addon does not notify unless targeted / mouse over (due to the fact he does not have a vignette and not having a silver dragon frame), you can just afk 1 feet away from it's spawn point and he will be attacking you making you automatically targeted to him and your silverdragon addon will trigger it's alarm.

He only has ONE spawn point which is the location I have mentioned. He respawns anytime from 1 hour to 2 hours. He has never exceeded passed his maximum respawn timer.

Took me over 350 Plus Kills to finally get this Awesome Rare Mount! Glad to be done ..and I can finally start playing the game..lol. Only 3 Rare Mounts (Plainswalker bearer, Liberated Slyvern and Zenet Hatchling) added to DF release so hopefully they add more in future patches!

This mob should be considered bugged. There is no reason to make this mob elite and not rare. Broken mob, avoid if you can.

It’s always polite to say hello, and if the group is nice, help them kill the mob after you check for spawn. Most people don’t mind waiting a min for you to fly over. I’m a big softy and killed so many quest mobs after checking. Funny story, we went to go kill shark and the guy tried to share the quest, we both laughed. Also a good chance to explore the new rares. The big warcrate groups or generic azure rare groups also don’t mind, they constantly have people leaving and joining. Happy hunting!

I'm at 200+ kills and so tired of farming this bs mount. I just can't imagine how ppl with 300+ kills feel but blizz should really change how this elite works. It doesn't makes any sense that a non rare mob has such a long respawn and this abysmal droprate. Either change the respawn to be 5 min or less like any elite should be or make it rare with an increased droprate.
Right now this elite only encourages unhealthy behaviour and frustration.

I'd been campin the cave for about 2.5 hours.

Even though wowhead says 2% I would say this is extremely rare. Me and my friends farmed it for 4 days total and maybe 250-300 attempts from all of us got the mount. I am also going to say if you're to farm this mount make sure you have someone else doing it so you can both get attempts quicker, good luck!

I personally got this mount at around 91 attempts on rarity but that was after 2 days straight of realm hopping so I could've been at 300 honestly.

Still can drop multiple times a day, got it after 141 tries according to rarity ( perhaps, made around 10-12 kills without an addon),today was 7th kill
0 server hops tho, glad its over. Still think that it need to be changed, this camping was far from best things I made in a game.

Farmed this with only WM on. 28 kills over the course of a week and a half. Some days I killed once, other days I killed up to 5 times.
It just takes luck and a dead server :)

I like the thrill of a lucky mount drop, so i went ahead and decided to give this one a go, week or so ago, the spawn rate was only an hour'ish? and plenty of LFG groups popping up here and now, people only want 5 man groups, so i qued up pretty fast and managed to get around 4 maybe 6 skills within 2 hours?
Anyways,

Was lucky to loot it on fourth, or maybe sixth kill (not sure because it dropped so quickly for Lucky me!) , same day, same character.

Been camping this mob for a week now for 12h/day on my second account, I did not relog and I did not fly around. Just chilling inside the cave. When the mob spawns I log in with a char on my main account that is also inside the cave and often enough this one logs in on another shard so I have to invite him.

Never did he spawn faster than 60 minutes and never did he spawn later than 120 minutes.

There are few reports of up to 5 hours or even just 20 minutes between two spawns but I think people changed the shard unknowingly. Relogging or flying around gathering herbs or ores may be enough to change the shard and this can cause a longer time to wait or even less time if you're lucky.

By the way: RareTracker shows you the shard you're on.

Edit: After two weeks of camping the respawn timer is still constantly at 60-120 minutes. If you're experiencing lower or higher respawn times you changed the shard.
Edit2: After four weeks of daily camping still no other spawn timer than 60-120 minutes. And I finally got the mount.

Just got the mount after 282 attempts, a few things to note from personal experience

1. You will doubt that you can do endless attempts at it after doing 20-30 attempts a day and not get it, i did, every day farming this for hours, keep going and you'll get it eventually

2. ALWAYS check if he's up even if people are camping the cave, that doesn't mean they checked if he's up, i got at least 20 kills this way

3. Less people seem to be hopping over to Custom Group that are in the azure span, Cobalt Rep Farms, Elemental Invasions, High Shaman, Gnarls, Bazual the world boss in the azure span (as of today he has not been available) use all of these to your advantage

4. A silly thing but I'm a lazy person so if you filter the Quest Groups by Azure Span, type E and S (azur-E S-pan), they're the laziest letter combination to not have to move your fingers across your keyboard to find groups quickly after leaving one

5. Get the Premade Sort addon, it lets you automatically apply to groups with a double click

Farmed him for ~6 hours on Thrall, using the other records of peoples time-keeping here. Going to be using this comment as a way to keep track of the spawn rates and times, and hopefully keep as many people as I can sane. Will update this as I go day to day.

Still able to kill and loot multiple times a day as of 12/26/22. Was getting Breezebiter down about 5-10 times daily. Here’s a quick vid of the mount drop which was the 4th kill of the day. This was the first time I farmed with WM on, doubt it matters but it’s food for thought.

So, I'm unsure of his spawn timer... I killed him, sat there for and hour and 49 minutes, and he spawned again. It seems weird that it's not just a flat 2hrs, but like I even had a timer and I sat there the whole time, I made sure it was the same phase and everything. My guess is that his spawn timer is anywhere from 1-2hrs. Also, friendly reminder that he can only be looted by the first 5 people who tag him. He is not classified as a rare, but as a gold elite, so he can be camped and looted multiple times in a day. There is no loot lock-out like most rares. The entrance to his cave is at exactly 29.8 , 46.1 and he does spawn right in the doorway (I tried to get a picture but someone else pulled him before I could and I'm not waiting another 2hrs for that). Took me 238 tries to get the mount Reins of the Liberated Slyvern I had multiple toons level 60+ parked on the tree stump (for the purpose of grinding this mount since I don't plan on levelling them yet.) on different servers (some war mode on and some war mode off) and would check them occasionally at different times of the day.

It dropped on my level 60 character and it was his 4th try of the day.

One tip I would use is use a target macro (since Breezebiter won't show up on the minimap) : and fly around in a circle around the area.

I get the Mount today at 8AM!
It was my 128 counted kill (but I kill him a few times before I start counting) so I it was round about the 140 kill and it was my 4th kill of the Day

The guys here are rly right what they say.
-realm hopping is the best way in 4h u can kill breezebiter 30 times (thats my count for the day)
-make a Macro! /tar breezebiter because Silverdragon and other scanner tell u nothing or to late! So many times other guys flying with me and leave the groupe when breezebite was up because they dont macro and just wait for a call from the addon!
-Fly every time your route! Also when there are 5 people stay by the cave! I make every 4th kill like this because 1 guy stand there have not check the area and all other people think he checkt it and just stand by him!

During the last few days it happened multiple times, that he respawned much quicker than 1-3 hours. One time he appeared again after 15 minutes, another time after 20.

Anyone have a map of his route? I know where the cave is and I'll fly around in the general area but I don't know exactly how far he flies.

Edit: Like others have said, the secret to farming this mount is shard hopping while flying his route and using a macro. The macro I used is below, which helped me find him easily on the majority of shards. And, like Yachemi said to my original comment, having HandyNotes: Dragonflight is super helpful to see his exact route.

So far I am at 502 attempts between my main and secondary account, I'm starting to believe the drop rate for the Slyvern is closer to 0.05% or possibly 1%.

Update: Dropped at 615 attempts / 99.79% likelihood at a 1% drop rate. Going to guess that it is definitely a 0.05% to 1% drop rate.

Since 10.0.5 I have only seen this rare twice and it's taking a lot more camping to find... I even realm hopped to 11 different realms during a single 3 hour camp for it to finally spawn on my home realm - stealth nerf to it's spawn rate? I thought they said rares will be 30 minutes now instead of 2 hours....

I just want to confirm- there aren't any other spawn points for him besides the cave entrance, correct? I ask because I had been camping this location when one of my rare addons (RareTracker) alerted me to the spawn, but he was nowhere to be found. It showed his health dropping and reset the timer as well. I know that I did not suddenly switch shards or anything so I just wanted to make sure that I'm not missing something. I also use RareScanner, which did not send out an alert at that point either. My initial thought was that it was a bug with the addon but I've been here for over an hour since that supposed spawn and nothing, making for over 2 hours of camping so far. If the RareTracker addon is correct, I still have not switched shards at all so that shouldn't be a factor.

There’s a high risk of being downvoted to hell because this may be a fairly unpopular approach but here’s how I farmed the mount. I would advise you to do it right now, as later on, this might no longer work once there will be other content to do.

Stand in front of the cave
Open the map and click on the group world quest that is currently available in the zone (not WB)
Use the finder button near the quest name and sign up for groups below 5 people or above 5 people
When you get phased and you see multiple people in front of the cave – leave. If there are no people or one person (they may not be aware the mob is flying around) do a lap around the path and spam the macro provided in these comments. Do not fly too fast and try to stick to the path as much as possible, otherwise, you might miss it.
If you complete ONE lap without any trigger, repeat the steps above (and go back to the cave position). If you find it, kill it as fast as you can. If it doesn’t drop – repeat the steps above. If it drops – you are now free to conquer the universe.

While unfortunately, I did not track the number of my attempts I spent about 8 hours in total doing this. I would guess I had about 50 attempts or so, maybe more.
It sucks I had to exploit the queue system this much, but remember – don’t blame the player, blame the game. The design of this drop is terrible. Good luck!

In 10.1 they made it even more annoying to grind for the mount, as Breezebiter's Hideous Laughter is now uninterruptable and a 2 sec cast time (down from 3 sec). Prepared to get feared more than before.

I just want to share my unlucky/lucky experience with this guy.

So like many people I've been looking for this dude since dragonflight launched. Checked at least once or twice a day at different times for the first two months, and never saw him up once. I kinda slowed down on my checks after that, just casually going over there if I was in the area. Never had any luck until about a week ago (may 12th) when I found him up for the first time. Took him down. No mount obviously. I was like "cool at least I know he exists now, and I finally got a kill". Fast forward a few days to the 17th, i'm over that way so i check. He's up again, kill, no mount. Out of curiosity I check the following day. He's up! No mount... I was like "that's odd that he's up every time I check lately". So I check the next day and he's $%^&ing there again! No mount again. Then today, I get home from work, go there and he's there! While killing him I was thinking they had to have changed the spawn rate or something. After not seeing this guy at all since launch, then seeing him 4 consecutive days, something had to be up or I was getting insanely lucky just being there at the right time. I kill him, and the #$%^ing mount drops. I was floored to say the least. 5 kills. It may have taken 6 months of searching but the hunt is finally over.

I think I camped him for about an hour and a half before he popped...

Best place to be is right at the entrance to the cave. I was semi-afk watching a friend play LoL on Twitch when he popped - walked out and instantly feared me and my pets so keep that in mind. He's a GOLD dragon lvl 70 so easy to take down once you recover from the fear.

Mount DID NOT drop :(

The mount can still be obtained on multiple kills by the same character on the same day. Just got mine after 4 days of camping him on two servers with two different characters, took 108 kills in total.

Also looted by a 61 character. Good luck.

Is he not considered a Rare Elite anymore? I've killed him 3 times in the past few days on different characters and his Rare Elite tag is no longer showing on his tooltip.

The good, and, bad thing about this rare is that it isn't a rare elite. Rare scanner Addons like SilverDragon won't detect it because it doesn't have a rare icon on the minimap, which means that you have to actually use your eyes or a target marco to see if it spawned. It is good because many ppl won't see the NPC and fly through.

I was farming this rare for the past week and yesterday it finally dropped... for my boyfriend... AGAIN!

He killed the rare about 50 times and it dropped two times for him.

Fortunately he was able to trade it to me when it dropped :)

I hope that every farmer experiences the same luck as I have to witness EVERY TIME with him <.<

Slightly off-topic but I wasn't sure where else to ask: what is the name of the chest that spawns in his cave? I have never once seen the chest, and I'd look up how to get it to start spawning but I don't even know what it's called and "breezebiter cave chest" has not gotten me the desired results. :(

I started seriously farming this recently, and so far here have been my experiences on a max pop server with 10 kills and no server hopping;

So far, with the (limited) data i've collected, the spawn timer is on average 80 minutes, with the shortest being 49 minutes, and longest being almost two hours. Hope this data is useful for others!
I set a timer for 45 minutes after every kill to come back to camp it.

Just waited over 4 hours for a respawn. Myself and several others were camping in a group and none of us saw it spawn between then, so reasonably confident it wasn't just one we missed.

Spawn time seems to vary with the shortest wait time being an hour and the longest being almost 6 hours (so far.)
I have a feeling the elemental storms may interfere with the spawn time for this guy as one was just in the area.
Last killed at 7:12 pm EST.
Set a timer and returned at 8:12pm EST, no spawn at all and it is now 1am EST.
Killed him 6 times today and on average he would respawn about an hour and a half later.

I saw this mount earlier and then I read the comments of all the people not getting it after so many kills, especially the story about the guy with 150+ kills that saw someone kill it for the first time and get the mount, so I wasn't that interested in farming it, especially since I already have the Temperamental Skyclaw, but a bit later I was bored and I just flew there for the first time.

RareScanner went off and I saw some gnoll model and I even closed off the window and landed to read the comments, saw that the gnoll was the one and then while killing him I even remembered all the people farming it, but then I looted him and saw purple and I was like no way.

So in summary, my condolences to all the mount hunters that are still looking for this one.

edit: loving the downvotes from the people farming this for 500+ tries when there's a better looking version of it that's easier to get

Something I've noticed while camping this guy for 106 kills as of this post, is that it's a lot more chaotic when the Azure Span has a lot of player traffic from either the Fyrakk assault or the Dreamsurge. I pretty regularly get moved over to different zone instances, often where he's already spawned. I suspect this behavior is what leads to some of the comments on this page observing spawn timers longer than 2 hours - they'll be camping the cave waiting for him, but what they don't notice is getting shifted over to a new instance of the zone, possibly multiple times over the course of his 1-2 hour respawn timer. Once I noticed this was happening, I've made it a habit to fly a lap through his patrol path just to check if he's already up before I go back to waiting by the cave. I've had kills as close together as 8 minutes and I'm not even joining groups to realm hop. It's just the game doing it automatically because of player traffic. It kinda sucks to be getting moved like that unexpectedly, but in the end it gets me kills faster than waiting for a respawn so I can't complain too much!

Heads up, even if you've been camping in front of the cave since the last kill, it doesn't hurt to occasionally fly around his flight path. I have lost track how many times I have done this and he be up and flying, despite me being present and wacthing (not AFK) at the cave since the last kill. Either he has another spawn location or theres phasing/sharding tech that is causing confusion.

I camped this mount for almost 2 hours. To get phased by a "Molten Lock" a few minutes before it theoretically spawns.

I dont know what causes Molten Locks to spawn, but if you can avoid getting utterly SHAFTED like i did. I would HIGHLY recommend you somehow make sure to prevent this from happening.
Having 2 hours wasted to a chest spawning makes me want to Never attempt this mount ever again.

I farmed this by realm hopping and it finally dropped for me after 227 kills. The saving grace here is the ability to realm hop and that the mount can drop at any kill during the same day by the same character. I really found staying at the cave pointless because sometimes I would do a flyaround and the rare would be up even with people waiting at the entrance. It can appear in the middle of it's fly path if the area phase. If it was close enough, I would drag it to the cave as often as I could so others who were waiting for it could kill it as well. :)

Hope everyone else has better luck than I had, certainly didn't feel like it was a 1/50 drop chance. XD

It's possible this comment might be lost under a backlog, but during the past month that I have seriously staked out Breezebiter I collected a lot of data. From both players I've talked to while waiting for the gnoll to spawn, and wowhead comments from this page and the mount page. From all my data acquisition and personal observations, this is what I have found to be true regarding Breezebiter:

He Spawns at the cave every has listed around 30,40 in Azure Span
The respawn timer is 1-2 hours, no more no less. Averaging a 90 minute respawn
You can receive the mount by killing Breezebiter multiple times per day
Only 5 people can tag the mob and receive any type of loot
He walks down the cliff and then begins to fly around the path highlighted by 'Handynotes', He flies about as high as the broken tree and stump

If you believe the Respawn timer is incorrect, or that Breezebiter might have another spawn-point; it is due to you being phased/sharded into a different azure span. Please get 'RareTracker' or some other equivalent shard tracking addon, and whenever you get moved to a different shard restart your timer, and go check for Breezebiter In the basin. I have 100 respawns recorded for Breezebiter where I did not get sharded or phased and they remained within that range.
As for the 5 people tagging the mob, and Getting the mount off of repeat kills in a day, I got the mount on my 3rd kill of the day. And I have attacked Breezebiter as player #7 who hit it and received no loot, not even gold.

For things I don't have enough data to prove:

The mount is most definitively not a 2% or 1/50 kill drop-chance
The mount is either 2% drop-chance on your first kill of the day, and is decreased on repeat attempts. Or possibly the worst idea that creeped into my head while farming this.
The mount works like Nightbane, and its a 2% chance at it dropping for the up to 5 players attacking Breezebiter, so each player of the 5 helps add the drop-chance up to 2%

I only have data from roughly 35 Liberated Slyvern Drops. Kill counts ranged from Really lucky people getting sub 50, to really unlucky people who are currently over 700 attempts. And over 50% of the 35 subjects had their kill counts ranging between 200-300 attempts. Now how could a 2% drop-chance mount have 50% of the drops going out for 200-300 attempts? well if each individual player only had a 0.4% drop-chance and all 5 added up to 2% that 200-300 attempts range looks a lot more accurate, if not just a bit disheartening. I was doing some attempts at the slyvern in short bursts from the start of the expansion, but December 2023 I hard camped and killed Breezebiter many times a day on my realm. I got the mount in 213 attempts, and during my grind I saw 4 other people get the mount, assuming its a 1/50 drop-chance for 5 people attacking it at once, my 5 total seen at 213 would be slightly lucky to see a 5th so soon, and on par with seeing 4 others drop. Now I know this qualitative data would make any proper statistician cry, but with what I had access too this is the best I can come up with.

I really wish any others going for this mount, both "happy hunting" and a firm "don't get your hopes up"

The new dig event right in this mob's area makes spawn timers difficult to calculate. I was automatically re-sharded twice within an hour while waiting in the same spot, essentially negating the spawn timer every time I was moved to a newly formed shard - on an RP realm. Can't kill a mob that spawns 1-2 hours after shard start when you can't even stay on a shard for an hour....

So I'll be pausing my hunt for this guy until after this new event isn't so new anymore.

Another perspective from the new dig event, it does shard you quite often but most of the time Breezebiter is already up and flying around. A lot of people camping the entrance havent checked to see if theyre already flying round. I've had more kills in the last 2 days then in the last two months. just use a macro /target Breezebiter and do a few laps before parking at the spawn sight. If you notice you get sharded, do another few laps to check.

Saying that, despite the extra kills....still no mount.

OK since 10.2.5 has come out and the new archives event, an interesting thing is happening with Breezebiter. If you're camping the cave entrance for any length of period your character is going to get transitioned all over the place often as people come and go from the event location. Every 5-10 minutes do a flying lap around the area and spam a /target breeze macro while you're doing it and odds are you'll catch him flying around more often than just the entrance. I've been averaging 2-3 an hour on one toon doing this while grinding the event.

I really don't understand how this game works. I'm on low-population realm and usually I am the only person from my realm waiting for the mob + few people from other realms. The issue is, on some days Breezebiter doesn't spawn at all, not flying around, nothing. But on some other days, I can see Breezebiter spawning even every 20 minutes and at the same time when it spawns, people from other realm disappear, like they are phased out or something.

I have killed Breezebiter 6 times in 2 days on Feb 1st and 2nd, 2024 on Proudmoore, and none of those times he spawned at the cave. He spawned above a rock at the base of the path leading up to the cave, already in flight. I have found that when I've waited at the cave and periodically left to see if the nearby pet has spawns, I have found the corpse several times without a single spawn at the cave. Save yourself the time and DO NOT farm this guy, just don't. I'm at 165 kills overall and its been the most painful, hate relationship I've had with this game. Not only does he has a time period where he will just not spawn, but also has about 2-3 hours of possible spawn time. In addition, only 5 people can loot it. ON TOP OF THAT, you CAN get sharded throwing you off the timer. PLUS with the archives event the chances are just higher now.

Not a joke, do not waste your time on this one. It looks like #$%^ anyways

Since 10.2.5, cave camping this guy without being sharded is almost impossible - for me anyway. RareTracker reports a new shard about every 40 minutes or so. Often coincides with Dig or Community Feast recently ending.

I used to hate it, but now when I see it happening I do a lap of his route and often find him already flying. Around the same amount of times tagging him when he spawns at cave.

I'm posting this here now that I have the mount and I'm not worried about anyone abusing my method and preventing me from getting a tag. Took me about 320 kills to get it to drop. I started just before the archives event kicked off by waiting and just camping outside the cave. This was boring and not very fruitful. Once the archive event kicked off it became much easier to farm him. I went from 50 kills in a month to 270 kills in just a few weeks. Here's how:

Set your hearth for iskaara, and dragon ride over to the event every hour around the X:20 mark. Fly counterclockwise around the dig while spamming a macro with /tar breezebiter. After your lap go park on the fallen tree and start searching for "dig" in custom group finder. Try to catch them early before they fill up too much and do a lap with each group you get invited to and then drop group after you kill breeze (or if he's not there). You will average at least a kill per hour with this, sometimes I was able to get 3-4 at a time due to how many dig groups were up. Any group nearby to the event will shard you so look for decay, brekkenhide, or even primal storm farms. The Cobalt assembly works as well.

183 attempts, and it finally dropped.

Now that I've got mine, I recommend camping the log at 26.98 44.54. He will fly right into you. Additionally, you're inside the big dig radius, so you can passively farm that rep and tokens. With this method, I was able to afk farm 1-3 kills per hour with all the sharding.

The cave entrance is no longer a good spawn due to all the sharding from the Big Dig. You are more likely to catch him in a new shard flying his route out in the open (he does not return to the cave after he leaves it).

Starting the week of March 5th 2024 reset, I've noticed two main changes with the spawn of this rare.

1) He consistently spawns between 30-40 minutes between kills.
2) He no longer spawns at the entrance of the cave and walk down, every single time he was already flying around as I camped the cave entrance

Not sure if this relates to the Bid Dig event converging with the Dreamsurge in the same area or if that's unrelated, but there's for sure a change in this mob spawn timer and spawn point.

I've waited just over 3 hours, as I'm typing this and no spawn... Also others were here before me, waiting also.
However, I have previously followed and seen, the spawn timer of between 60-120 minutes before, but it doesn't seem to work that way now.

Seen a few comments saying this but I still see people waiting infront of his cave. He will never spawn infront of the cave since the Big Dig event happens every hour the shard is constantly being reset and when this happens he will spawn somewhere in the middle of his flight path (usually around the big dig area)

I've been farming this guy pretty consistently every day by flying around the area while the dig is happening and it usually doesn't take more than a few minutes to get my kill. I even got two spawns back to back today within several minutes

*edit* Downvote if you like but this is the best and most reliable farming method, dont need to do an entire lap of the zone like people above are suggesting just fly around traitors rest while the dig is going. Killed him 5 times today already

Commenting as this just dropped for me around my 100th kill. I GOT THIS MOUNT IN A WEEK OF FARMING WITH THIS TACTIC. There are a few comments below relating to tactics, some are on the right track. However, this is by far the best tactic that I don't mind sharing now that I've got mine. It's also slightly different now that the population of the area has dropped in recent months and large Big Dig groups aren't as common.

The game shards this area sporadically. Do not camp this mount unless it's your only option. If you can actively farm this, do so. The people camping are missing out.

Basically use sharding to your advantage. Somebody mentioned below the Cobalt rep farm groups in custom. I found that joining groups in the QUESTING premade tab was 10x more effective - more groups and better shards. Use the custom groups if you have to but most of the questing groups are on auto-accept and tend to have players on dead realms hosting them - so you get better shards. By better I mean that sometimes the game generates BRAND NEW shards, in which Breezebiter is already up and flying around! This is where people on this thread are mistaken. He ONLY EVER spawns in the cave, but you will miss him if the game puts you in a new shard in which he is already up, making it look like he's spawned on his flightpath! Therefore, the process is simple:

1) Check if Breezebiter is already up on your shard by doing a lap of the flightpath and spamming a /tar Breezebiter macro.
2) If he's up, kill him and re-shard. If he's not up re-shard. This is done by joining a premade group located in Azure Span.
3) Each time you join a group, you have a chance to re-shard. Every time you leave that group, you have another chance to re-shard. Meaning that sometimes you get 2 Breezebiter kills per group join! So for this step, check if he's up, then kill if up, then leave the group and check again!
4) Rinse and repeat.

Some tips:

- The Big Dig event sends the sharding crazy. Join these when they are up and do the event then leave the group. I got a Breezebiter spawn nearly every time I left one.
- There are signs to tell you have entered a BRAND NEW shard. If the chest in the cave is up and if the Dream Coalescence is floating above the camp - and obviously if there are few players. Although, sometimes when you prompt the game to re-shard you, you can bring players in your current shard with you! This happened quite a lot, and the people camping missed out on a free kill simply because they hadn't realised they had been sharded.
- Sometimes the game randomly shards you for no reason, do a lap - Breezebiter is probably up.
- On a brand new shard, he is normally just sat towards the end of the path leading out of the cave on the ground looking out of the cave.
- I play on EU. The premade groups hosted by Russians, Germans, French - anything in another language or on a realm you've never heard of was WAY more likely to have Breezebiter flying around on the shard. Join these as a priority. High pop realms tended to share the shards.
- Peak traffic times actually make this harder. Early morning I found that nearly every single premade group had a Breezebiter spawn in it.
- This cannot really be done in a group due to the nature of the tactic.
- Try and be quick when joining a questing premade, as people complete the quest quickly and disband the group - kicking you out of the shard. Additionally, if they see you are nowhere near them sometimes they will kick you. Do your lap quickly and kill Breezebiter as fast as possible.
- The world quests rotate, so some days are better than others. Make use of the busy days!
- Always check if he's up - don't be put off if there are loads of people on the shard. I had countless kills with a 40 man Big Dig group next to me and 10 guys sat outside the cave. Even some with multiple people flying on the flight path. If you understand the sharding, you will get this mount!

Blizzard trying to make the game alt friendly, but not time friendly with bs mounts like this. Long spawn time, only five can tag, random phases with random new spawn times, ridiculous spawn timer. This mount and group loot system made me quit the game for 9months, waste of time. Nothing like spending hours farming or getting anything in wow just for bs systems that take more time and rng. We are old and don't have time to wait 5hours for one stupid barely guaranteed mount or random piece of gear.

Do we have some Discord, or Community channel, or Google spreadsheet, or whatever, which will tell the last spawn time?
For example:
- Shard 27063: killed at 28-Apr-2024 23:46.
RareTracker has this information, but only for my kill. Would be nice to make it through some unnamed channel, like it was done many years ago in the addon "Nauticus", so people will know these things automatically for many shards.
