Big gratz to Echo, they played insanely well this tier. One thing I'm hoping for, regardless of who won the race, is global raid release in future tiers. It's just so depressing to watch these great players under so much stress from playing from behind during first half of the race just because of different reset times. I know the resets haven't decided a winner yet but it still feels terrible for players until they manage to catch up, it would be better for the viewers and the integrity of the race and it's really not a big deal considering you are already doing it in Classic and other games are doing it as well.
Congratulations Echo!
Huge congrats to Echo, they played their hearts out and deserved the win. Gg
Legendary barely describes it. Congrats.
Doubt a world wide release would change much if at all. They just need to do it so it's one less thing for players who aren't even WF raiders to complain about. Then again if it was a world wide release I'm sure non-WF raiders would still find something to complain about.
Warriors! They fight until the end! World First well deserved! Congratulations!
277 pulls. Now thats dedication and determination on a ...mythic...scale. Well done Echo.
I'll never really understand the fairness debate about the race.First, people conveniently forget China. Plenty of great guilds there and I am sure they'd have organized something much more solid if they felt they ever had a chance to win but the way resets are, they pretty much can't. At least EU gets a chance (and I think has won the clear majority of the races)Second, the race is unofficial. It's unofficial for very obvious reasons. I enjoy watching it but this is not a healthy way to play and I don't think Blizzard would want to actually endorse people playing such long hours. Even unofficial though, the race certainly seems more successful than their own sanctioned e-sports events. The race could be made both official and fair. Setting up a tournament realm with simultaneous launches that removes the insane split requirements and BoE purchase requirements by setting up vendors with Heroic gear on them (by far the biggest limitation for participating; many amazing mythic guilds out there that just cannot afford to play by the terms of the race as it is now) and specific rules (maybe a limit on characters? maybe the raid would never reset so you just have to push?) is very much possible, even simple for Blizzard. Holding the race separately would let them actually balance Mythic for the vast majority of mythic guilds who will not participate in the race and will mostly play the version of the raid we will all get next reset (because we all know the major nerfs are coming on the reset after the race is over) which is the intended difficulty. But Blizzard will never do that. The race drives the economy of entire servers. The amount of gold raised to compete in the race (just BoEs and consumables alone) and then the number of boosts sold to make up that gold is immense and in many ways Blizzard gets their own cut on it.
What a race, absolutely loved following both Echo and Liquid, both incredible guilds.Have to say, Echo played out of their skins over the last 3 bosses, Liquid hit a wall on Jailer that they couldn't smash down.Watched both Max's streams and Echo's streams, Echo had great casters, Preach was on the money as always, Dratnos is low key hilarious. Tettles is just a nice guy, probably too nice for the real world :) Max's streams have been quality too, the guy is a brilliant leader and even though Echo won, it would not be the same without Liquid.Best race ever, have to say, I've followed them all since they became mainstream.A bit selfish but I'm sad it's over, but all good things come to an end. Can't wait for the next one. To all involved, be it players, casters, people around both teams, thank you so much for the entertainment.
unless future tiers are super easy, i can't see Echo losing to anyone, they played so well
Grats, but races like this are tainted, when it's allowed to pay other people to give up their loot.
https://www.method.gg/raid-history/vanilla (PS: First 3 raids were released in US before WoW was released in EU which is why they caught up around AQ)https://www.method.gg/raid-history/the-burning-crusadehttps://www.method.gg/raid-history/wrath-of-the-lich-kinghttps://www.method.gg/raid-history/cataclysmhttps://www.method.gg/raid-history/mists-of-pandariahttps://www.method.gg/raid-history/warlords-of-draenorhttps://www.method.gg/raid-history/legionhttps://www.method.gg/raid-history/battle-for-azerothhttps://www.method.gg/raid-history/shadowlandsThis one shows the kills of bosses and as you can see EU got majority of endbosses kills due to they have always played better.Limit won Ny'alotha due to the balancing issue of Corruption made the raid last much shorter so Echo (Method back then) couldn't catch up.And Castle Nathria old Method had broke up and became Echo and some of the people from Method carried on so that made them suffer. In the end EU have always won the endboss fight because raids usually last longer than a week and US always proved to have challenging to keep up long term. But I do have hopes that Liquid will carry on and improving their game and do compete with the EU guilds such as Echo but with this tier I just don't think they are there yet.Winning Ny'alotha with Corruption unbalance and then take Castle Nathria when top EU guilds just split doesn't make them world champions long term and Echo proved that with both Sylvanas and now Jailer. But hope remains that the race between EU and US will continue to grow with 10.0 or 9.2.5 Season 4 Raids!
no one has mentioned the healing reduction is also brought by demonology warlocks, the master class.
