EU EZ Clap
The issue with this RWF was not boss tuning or difficulty at the point each boss was killed. It is 2 fold and easily fixable in an upcoming raid tier.1) Bosses designed/tuned around double legendary, and them not being available until week 3.2)Master Loot being available to full guild groups. Personal Loot is miserable, in Both raid and M+ Nothing feels worse than not being able to trade someone an upgrade that is useless to you, but I digress. If double leggo was available the week of mythic release, Holandy isn't any easier mechanically, and likely didn't need a 10% hp nerf. Same can be said for Andy HP nerfs, Rygelon HP nerfs etc. Both Echo and Liquid spent close to or maybe even 5 full days worth of raiding doing Splits during mythic release week and beyond. Every RWF previous has had 1 full day or sometimes not even a full day of splits. Personal Loot has created a degenerate amount of splits, especially if tier or lessons learned regarding domination sockets in 9.1Master Loot would have significantly reduced the number of splits, and made them mostly in house. Like previous raid tiers with Master Loot tier sets, everyone had full tier during Heroic week, and a single day of splts to upgrade ilvl or save a few unlucky players.I think it is a reasonable assumption based on the 5days invested into splits, that if Legendary where available from the start, and Master Loot (which should have never been removed) This RWF lasted 13-14days, with Jailer going down Monday/Tuesday night before either NA or EU reset.Which in recent history is long, but within the expectations WF guilds had for how long the tier would take.TLDR: Personal Loot is ^&*!, always has been ^&*!, always will be #$%^, and will forever be the worst change blizzard has ever made to the game in 18years. (Titanforging being a close 2nd)
I'm the wet blanket who immediately thought it would be nice if there was some kind of world wide connection that would let them play together without having to actually fly to one place. Imagine the number of starving people that money could have bought a meal for.
Blizzard did nothing wrong, just made it so we could see how things work without guilds testing and forming strats for weeks on PTR.That's it, it takes longer. And yes, Liquid (as all others) was well aware that this would take longer than a week or two. With the return of tier sets (with so much power on it) and double legendaries, things would be probably balanced around having both. On top of that, they would need to figure the bosses out and create strategies on the fly for them. All this at the last tier of the expansion. It would not be a pushover. Now Max wants what to change? To let them test all the fights again on PTR? lol.And Liquid decided to quit since they were not going to win. Sad, but true.
Mental health matters. Physical health matters. The well-being of people matters. It's the year 2022 and people really should understand that by now.Big respect to all teams involved. And big respect to those who know when to step down and when it's safe to press on.
is this actually english?
This is kinda weird. They blame Blizzard for the lack of commitment while its part of their job lol. Imagine a soldier blaming his gun for not shooting precisely. Dont blame blizzard but yourself. Because it was kinda low to say that to justify the loss, even you said it wasnt. <— US player here
Whenever I hear the word "Copium" I think that the person accusing of it has never been in a situation that is long-term stressful, when it doesn't have to be. There's a world of difference between being in a career that you know comes with stress (and even danger) from the outset (kudos to anyone who works in a top-notch kitchen for a demanding prima-donna chef, or in the forces, for example) to one where it is artificially designed to be stressful by making something so difficult it takes almost twice as long as planned, resulting in people having to drop out due to RL commitments, adding pressure to the rest of the team. The former, you know what it takes - or soon find out and step out of the proverbial heated kitchen if you can't stand it. Is it a sign of "weakness" to be decried and insult the players? No, it says more about the accuser, who thinks everyone has to be strong or be stepped on - basically acting like a bully, (like a certain world "leader" I can think of...). There seems to be a mind-set that caring about people is "weak". Yet you do not get a plant to grow by denying it water - you nurture it, and gently prune out the bad bits rather than rip it up as that means you end up with no plants at all. The same with talented people, you don't get them to grow by slagging them off wholesale at every opportunity, but do "prune out" their incorrect actions by talking about them, and provide an environment that is fit for them to grow. Blizzard do need to look at the environment they are currently providing, as they are the ones responsible for it - even if no-one is "making" the teams enter the world-first race - as a three week long competition, though engaging and entertaining for us, the audience, and increases Blizzard's exposure, is obviously not good for the WFR players.
This was the best RWF that I have seen so far. Echo did an amazing job at winning this tier, having to start from behind in 3 resets and catching up to Liquid and in the end getting a very solid lead over liquid by securing the first kills on the 3 last raid bosses. This race has shown that Echo is just one step ahead of every other guild, not only in their gameplay skills and commitment, but also in team spirit and organization (imagine having to move hotels during RWF like Liquid had to, that's some very unfortunate misplanning). Echo provided amazing entertainment by somehow managing to get all the best casters/content providers into their crew. I hope team Liquid will not fall apart after this race, which must have been very disheartening for them, especially for Max.
