The Horseman's Reins!
I had to think about this one for awhile since I've been playing for so long.I believe the most epic drop / experience I had was the Dragonfang Dagger & Bloodfang Belt from Vaelastrasz the Corrupt in BWL. After being honored to join the top horde guild on the server back in the vanilla wow days and being able to go straight into BWL was great, was an exciting experience the entire time. We got to Vael, fighting alongside my good buddy Saporo, who was the rogue lead and was encouraging the entire time. After multiple wipes and backstabs later, both items drop. I was floored since I just so happen to be the only person in the guild that could use both. I got both and was so happy.. I bounced around like a mad person.. I was specifically after the dagger, but the belt dropping too was just icing on the cake. Good Times.
So, there I was in Scarlet Monastery, doing my part for the ecosystem by thinning out the local human population, and simultaneously showing an apprentice the ropes. I nearly finished sweeping through the Armory like a plague wind, when what do we find but a Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade. I was delighted, as it was a rather striking piece of cloth, and the thought of wearing it while carrying out the Dark Lady's will was appealing. While I was daydreaming, the apprentice I was escorting unknowingly claimed it for himself. It was a strain on my legendary patience and understanding, but I forgave him, and I hear he's recovering quite nicely. Back to the story, I then decided that I wouldn't rest until I obtained a tabard of my very own. In the end, it took me a few hundred trainees to find one the right size, but I found one. I even managed to get the stains out. Now I wear it with pride as I go about my noble works.Melanora, Warlock of Scarlet Crusade
As being a pet collector, one of the most epic items I ever got was the . Like I put in the comments of this item, I got this by asking my Rogues guild mate to help me get it, he was nice enough to do it for free. Because he was the one who actualy found the pet rock I asked him for his advice as to what to name it.He said "Einstein".Einstein not only refers to the famous scientist Albert Einstein, but it also means "One stone" in a few languages, such as german.Best. Name. Ever.
The most epic loot I've gotten definitely has to be the Fiery War Axe I got on my draenei warrior while doing the quest Wanted! Marez Cowl. Unfortunately, my warrior was spec'd swords, so I sold it in the AH and bought a Nightblade with the money. For the next five levels, I owned just about everything I attacked. It was great. :)
Though I don't know if I'm qualified. I'd like to take my time answering this question as well. hmm.. the question was "What was the most epic loot drop you've ever gotten?":Well that epic loot drop wasn't a loot drop it was practically an epic battle. It was one of those normal battles you take in one of those Battlegrounds, Alterac valley, one of the most irritating or perhaps one of the most glorious battleground in prewotlk. During this time I thought to myself "wow another loss.." as in fact it was going to be a loss. it was 127 to 50 (alliance to horde) it was then that everyone almost lost hope. in fact we should. They had themselves the alliance counterpart of Lokholar, Ivus. It was of course an epic fail. since most of our horde players were practically undergeared and Ivus was on a rampage killing every single one of our players. But suddenly the tides have turned. Although we were at a disadvantage with reinforcement running out the horde took a gamble of either losing or to strive to win. in normal occasions we would give up but this wasn't those occasions this was one of those rare occasions where each one of the horde players have the same thought. "win". It was epic, we decided to overcome the loss and tried to overthrow Ivus. Ivus! the elemental thats been owning our asses. at that moment our reinforcement were of 15 and alliance is down to at least 130ish but that didn't stop the horde. Ivus went down and the morale of those annoying alliances, no offense, went from high and mighty to a cowardly run. Then a tab came up "Horde wins" engraved on the red border of the results. Sigh* it was a spectacular fight in which in ages i've longed for since burning crusade came out. I took the liberty and waited until I was kicked out of the screen. it felt like one of those breath-taking movies you watch in the movies when the climax peaks and it was at that moment that u realize, "wow."well thats the end of my story though it's only a game. I bought this game to experience something like that. An epic battle.
i rolled a 100 on zinrokh from ZG, upgraded from the level 51 blue spear ice barbed spear and beat out a much better geared warrior for it. truly epic.
My most epic loot was definitely Atiesh. After months and months of farming the splinters, farming the rep and doing the chain, I finally got my Atiesh (as well as my 9/9 T3). Definitely my most epic piece of loot.
