Obsidia Warbeads when farming Mag'har rep to get the imba looking mount :P it was just EPIC
The most epic drop I've ever gotten was back in Vanilla WoW as it is affectionately (or sometimes not) called. For some reason I had a love affair with Sunken Temple. My favorite way to level was always through instances and at level 51 Sunken Temple had become my favorite. I was playing on my rogue--my first ever character--and I was decked out in a smathering of blues and greens and specced for combat swords. I knew Shade of Eranikus dropped a wicked sword, but after checking online I realized it had less than a 1% drop chance, so I went on running with the idle hope that maybe someday it would drop. One day I got a 56 warrior from my guild to tank the run for me and we were clearing pretty well since he was for the most part over-leveled for that particular instance. We cleared the whole instance pretty well up until the last boss- Shade of Eranikus. I've had trouble with him and in 3 or 4 runs prior to this one I had only managed to down him once. The fight was a narrow squeeze: by the end only the warrior, the healer, and myself are left standing. We loot the corpse and I see the sword just sitting there- Dragon's Call. Even though the sword was 52 and I was 51 I rolled against the warrior and narrowly won. I immediately started leveling after leaving and dinged 52 and run around just poking things to make the whelpling effect proc. To this day I have a permanent place for it in my bank, and sometimes I take it out to run around with it.
Mine is definitly , dropped on my lvl 57 Death Knight lawl =)
Back when I first hit 60, I went to MC a bunch with my guild. I had been getting DKP for showing up on time, and killing the bosses, but the only times my tier 1 set dropped, I lost the DKP additive rolls. About 6 weeks later I had yet to get a piece of tier 1, and my guild decides to do BWL. (back when Razorgore was DI-able.) So we go in and 1 shot Razorgore, and low and behold, my hunter bracers drop. Because I never won a single piece of tier 1, I had the second most DKP for hunters, so we roll off, and I roll a 100, add my DKP, and BAM! I won the roll. so my very first epic was tier 2 bracers. It was awesome!
After being decked out in blues and greens for so long, the Tier4 token (Gloves of the Aldor) dropped off of Curator in Kara and I won the roll. It was my first epic and the most memorable. It validated my toon. I thought I was hooked before, but that really sealed the deal.
Valor Helm lol Took me an age to get. Still have the whole valor set in my bags ;)
I'd have to say the most Epic drop for me... is a toss-up between Stormrage Legguards and the Will of Arlokk. After months and months of progressing through MC, picking up what pieces of Cenarion were actually upgrades vs ZG gear, and countless attempts at killing Rag, we -finally- managed to snuff out his flame, with 39 people no less... The anticipation as we rezzed up the 1/3 of the raid that died was killing us, especially with it being our first kill. With a very noticable "Oh my.." from our guild master, our rewards flashed in Raid Warning, and voila, our first sets of Tier 2 pants: Wrath and Stormrage. I almost went through the roof, because I knew those pants were mine since I'd been saving DKP for them. 3 months later, I finally got the Will of Arlokk, after just about every other druid and priest in guild had it, and I'd been working every other time it dropped... Now that I think about it, I'd really have to say the pants win out, that night was truly epic.I can't help but chuckle at the amount of BC and even Wrath stories being posted, but that's not to say there's anything less epic about them compared to Vanilla WoW stories, just amusing to me.
I got an Azure Whelpling....my first drop! I almost crapped myself it was so amazing! I once farmed over 3000 kills for the Crimson.. I was beyond happy. I kept him and use him to this day.
My most epic lewt was the Gold Medallion, because my battlegroup almost always lost back then. When we finally won a Warsong Gultch, and I saw that I had mail from the Spirit of Competition, I was really happy. I was even more happy when I found out it summoned a pet.Edit: I can't seem to get the link system to work./shrug
When my Azure Whelpling dropped! I spent about 4 hours farming it for my girlfriend, and it finally dropped!
