Oh man, you mean it won't 2-shot a dps or healer in heroic/mythic raid gear anymore? Hurrah.
Curious to know how much damage it was doing. The spell page doesn't specify the value since it scales to caster level.
Their problem was more the combination of damage and health. The spell was over a million damage, on a spammed 2.6s cast, from a mob which starts somewhere around 25 million HP and could scale up to 45 million plus.Its time to kill a DPSer versus time-to-die was way out of sync for a mob that (presumably) theoretically didn't need a tank. If they'd only had a couple of million HP they'd have worked OK as a really nasty dangerous version of an imp.

1 hour before fix i did this for 1st time....now that is a funny thing
And lets not forget when that buff isn't active and this was still happening.
Also those mobs appeared in that fire world invasion point where you couldn't really grab that nice dmg/healing buff. I'm glad they're fixing it. 25% hp from a "normal" mob on a spammable cast is too crazy when you aren't guaranteed to get a tank or healer.
Yeah, those things were brutal. First time I went in there I had a friend tanking. He pulled a couple groups, got globalled, then they turned and globalled me while I was wondering what was going on. Checked my combat log, and saw a bunch of 1.4 to 1.8m shadow bolts. I'm like, wut?
The nerf makes sense. I'm all for adding challenge to the game and Invasion Points got a lot of things right or at least have some interesting ideas going on. This mob wasn't one of them.
